Aug 14, 2012
My inside trunk release has ceased to function. My remote trunk release works just as it should.

View 16 RepliesWe recently purchased a 2006 Volvo S60 without an owners manual. We can't seem to find the inside trunk release. Our remote does not work. We cannot seem to get an answer from local Volvo Dealers because they are profit driven and want us to come in so they can sell us service and when we go online to ask a mechanic.
View 13 RepliesThe remote trunk release as well as the trunk release lever inside my 2001.5 GLS V6 do not pop the trunk anymore so I suspect the motor is gone. I took the trunk cover off and got to the motor. I can't tell from looking at the motor if it is bad or not but I suspect it is. How I can test this to see if it is bad?
View 1 RepliesThere's this 99 b5 sedan at my local junkyard with wheel locks on and I need to get into the trunk to see if the key is in it. all four doors are unlocked, no key, no battery.
is there a way to get into the trunk from the rear seat and trip a manual trunk release?
Have this problem? 500 miles out of warranty and my trunk release lever is broken. The button on the remote still works, but the lever on the floor has no tension on it. It feels like the cable either broke or is no longer attached to the lever.
View 12 RepliesThis morning I noticed my Trunk release button by the steering wheel, and the release button on my key fob won't work. Using the key manually does open my trunk though.
I checked, and it is not in the locked valet mode. I do hear a slight "click" when I push either button so it's trying to pop the trunk but no activity.
What this may be? Didn't know if it might be an electrical issue and if there was a fuse to check? Or if maybe it's a mechanical problem and i'll have to get it looked at.
How to activate the power trunk release on a 2012 Camry L series? My car came with dealer remotes that don't have a button for the rear trunk lock which I saw is in the vehicle when I added the trunk spoiler. It would be nice not to have to open the DS door and pull the trunk release lever to open the trunk all the time....
View 5 RepliesI have a 2000 v6 glx passat. CCM recently got fried, brought to dealer and got replaced, they fixed all the leaks. I go to open with trunk with the remote and it doesn't work, so i go to the cabin and use the switch located at the bottom of the drivers door and that doesn't work either. I hear a clicking in the fuse box so i looked around and fuse 38 clicks when ever i hit the trunk release button, fuse is fine, replaced with another one too, trunk opens with key manually. when fuse 38 is removed, trunk still doesn't open remotely or with button but the clicking stops.
View 3 RepliesI have a 2013 Accent SE and am having trouble with the trunk release -- it doesn't work. It looks like the part in the trunk may have come loose or something.
View 9 RepliesI have had my car for a week and use the trunk every day. Tonight the trunk wouldn't open. Brought it to service and they were just closing, but technician looked quickly and didn't know problem and told me to come back tomorrow. I called Blue Link and they didn't have a clue either. I tried the remote, the trunk release in the car and the release under the trunk itself. I hear a click but it won't open. I even tried the second remote.
View 9 RepliesMy 2013 Elantra doesn't come with a key lock for the trunk; the only way to open it is via the key fob or the manual release under the driver's seat.
Is there any way to disable the key fob from opening the trunk, so that only the manual release will work? I'd want to do this for security reasons. My old car had a "valet switch" in the trunk, but the Elantra doesn't have it. I don't know if there's a mechanism I can unplug, or if removing the trunk fuse from the interior fuse panel would do the trick...
I just noticed today that the trunk release button in the driver side door doesn't do anything. Does it suppose to pop the trunk or glass? Just wondering!!
View 8 RepliesI picked up a new CSG GTI, 6speed with Xenon and Bluetooth on Thursday. Yesterday evening when I got home from work I opened the hood to make sure everything was cool I guess. Then this morning I was going to open it again, and the release inside the car is loose, like it's hardly attached to anything.
MKVI? I know it's probably a cable issue, but it sucks to have to drive back 50 miles to the dealer, 2 days after buying it, because the hood won't open.

How to disable the trunk release on the driver's side door? If I lock the trunk, the fob trunk release is also disabled.
View 31 RepliesWhen I press trunk release button on dash or the trunk button on key, I hear the mechanism but trunk will not pop open. I press the button and pull up on the trunk, it is still latched. The key will not go all the way in lock on trunk, I assume it is seized.
I have sprayed 3 in1 penetrate in lock mechanism. Key still will not go in far. I cannot get back seat down. I am wondering if something got caught in latch that is restricting movement.
2012 sonata gls 84,000 km.
I have quick question that probably has an equally quick answer. When I press up on one end of the sunroof control dial, it makes a click. I can only push it up when the dial is in the 'roof closed' position. I've read somewhere that this 'button' should do something, but when I press it nothing happens. Do pushing up the sunroof control dial is supposed to do anything?
View 11 RepliesI'm curious whether something is wrong with the cooling function on my seats. While a +3 on the control seems to heat the entire seat rapidly and at a high temp, a -3 only gives me a moderate airflow out of the area under my thighs. Is the air supposed to flow out of the entire perforated region of the leather (upper back and inner-side sections) or is what I am experiencing normal?
Was thinking maybe I need to replace a component to get a stronger airflow out of the seat.
I just tried to use my Seat Massage on the driver side and it's not working. I can hear the motor or so but no movement..
View 7 RepliesIs there anything I can do to have the rear doors unlock using the keyless entry function? I can only unlock the driver door as of now. Once that is open, I still need to use the unlock button on the keyfolb to unlock the rear door.
The keyless entry function does lock the doors when the small black button is pushed on the rear doors?
Does the 'easy entry' function on your Phaeton only cause the steering wheel to move up and down, or, does it cause the steering wheel to move up and down and the driver seat to slide back and forward? My understanding is that both actions should take place - wheel up and seat back (or vice-versa), but I can only ever recall seeing the steering wheel of my car move up.
View 16 RepliesThe following have stopped working (at the same time if I remember correctly): power door locks, power mirrors, power trunk release and rear defroster. We are also getting a tire pressure fault warning when the tire pressure is ok. As far as other items located on the drivers door, the power seat adjustment and power windows are still working. I checked every fuse in the interior box and the the rely ant fuses unde the hood. I exchanged the big, square, grey fuse for the rear defroster with the one for the starter and still no luck with that issue.
