Phaeton :: How To Lift Up Back Seat
Oct 9, 2006
My daughter dropped something in the seat belt hole in the back seat. I have forgotten, if I ever knew, how to lift up the back seat in the Phaeton?

View 13 RepliesThis morning as I was heading for work out of the blue my driver's seat moved completely back while in motion, and moving mirrors. It was kind of dangerous.
View 2 RepliesNot sure what I put in there but can't get it to open. It slides back but it does not lift up. I could peek through and see that nothing's preventing from lifting up the are rest so I'm thinking it's something in the top bin that's getting it stuck. (maybe phone charger cable?)
How I can fix this. The top cover is air tight so I can't even see what the problem would be.
I'm not too familiar with the difference between lift kits and leveling kits. I want to lift my truck 2" but in doing research do i need get a lift kit and a leveling kit? For the front and the back? I have a 2006 F150 4.6 V8 RWD I also haven't been able to find any good places to but the kits (also because I don't know what all i may need) It would be ideal to get a kit i can bolt on myself.
View 1 RepliesThe headrest of back seat will bend over when fold down the seat. But one of the headrests can't go back to original up position. The dealer has adjusted the cable but this just temporarily fixed the problem. The problem is back again. I will go back to dealer but can they really fix it? Should I ask for a replacement of the whole seat?
View 1 RepliesSo this may be a really dumb question, but here goes. I have a new to me 2001 v10 gas 4x4 ex. It has obviously been lifted in the past. The springs seem totally shot as the back end is quite a bit lower than the front and drops dramatically while towing. I am adding a helwig and have a wd hitch but have not set it up yet. So my question is can i do the spring swap? It would seem that i would need to address whatever changes are made from the stock ride but im not sure. I like the current lift and would be fine keeping it and adding the lift from the new springs.
View 14 RepliesI have a 1994 Black Ford F150 and i was wondering if i could lift the truck 6 inches only using lift blocks (or any other cheap way to get my truck off the ground)....
View 2 RepliesI collapsed the rear seats this morning, loaded the Treg up with stuff (nothing too heavy) and drove 200 miles. Got home, unloaded stuff and then tried to put the seats back up. The center seat belt is integrated into the passenger side 60% folding seat. But for some reason it's now "locked" as the belts do when the car is in an accident.
Since the belt is tight as it is in the lowered position, it will not allow me to lift up the back portion of the seat. After looking at it in the somewhat narrow view I have from between the floor and the lowered back rest, I can see that when I try to lift the back rest, the belt needs to slack some to allow the seat back to go all the way up. But since it catches, it only allow the seat back to raise about 6" before it's too tight to raise the seat back anymore.
I looked at the mounting bolts for the bottom portion of the belt in the space I can see and I see a 12 point star pattern bolt (not sure of proper name). With my Passat, I was able to find a suitable allen wrench that fits in the 12 point star pattern bolt that controls the back door catch for adjustment purposes. But with this one, I tried both metric and SAE and neither has a close enough match.
The belt locking mechanism allows for about 1" of belt travel before it locks. I've jiggled with the belt trying to get the mechanism to unlock so I don't have to remove the belt anchor point on the floor of the car (which I don't have the right wrench for). Anything I can do with the belt? Or do I just go after getting the right wrench and undoing the anchor to allow more belt slack to reset the belt?
I have the 18-way adjustable drivers seat and it moves just about 2 inches. The height does not work. This happened a few months ago.
Now the passenger seat does the same. I do not see anything jamming the seats or something that is lodged in the tracks.
My rear seat headrest on one side is always up, and I can hear a motor running in the rear seat back whenever the engine is running. Shut the engine off, and the head rest remains up. I couldn't push it down with any reasonable amount of force. Does it need a complete headrest motor, or can the existing one be repaired?
View 1 RepliesHow to remove the front seat trim? It is the trim with the seat control panel. Additionally, where to get the VW Phaeton Service Manual?
View 7 RepliesThe rear of the drivers side front seat in my car has come undone! How that happened, but the top two clips are busted, and it's hanging off the back of the seat, still attached by the bottom two clips. Looks like some plastic snaps on the top have broken.
View 14 RepliesLots of squeaking coming from the seat in the past few days. No one sitting in it, no massage or heating/cooling active. Squeaks when I go over the slightest bump or rattle the seat.
View 6 RepliesMy problem is my seat will recline but will not go back up. Basically every time I hit the recline switch my seat is stuck a little further reclined. I am not sure if the problem is the switch, motor, control box ect. When I move the recline switch I hear the relay in the control box close. Nothing happens when I press forward. Very difficult seat to work on. I can't even sort out where the recline motor is. It seems to be in the seat back though and not under the seat but I am not sure and diagrams are unclear to me.
View 7 RepliesMy seat adjustment controls don't light up at night. Are they supposed to? I can't believe there is actually a switch anywhere in this car that doesn't light up!
View 3 RepliesHave a Camry sleep 04 since new. Seems like my daughter spilled something on the back seat and got under the seat...smell like hell! How do I remove the back seat? Tried pulling it up but won't come up or anything. Can't see any screws...they are leather seats, afraid of pulling it harder and breaking something.
View 4 RepliesHow difficult it is to remove the rear seat on a 5th gen 2002 Camry XLE? There's a set of leather seats at a local yard and I'm thinking of buying it.
My follow up question is what the h ell do I do with my old seats? Is there even demand on Craigslist for that stuff? They're power and in good condition.
My passenger seat doesn't spring back when I recline it. The car is 15-months old?
View 1 RepliesMy son spilled some milk in the back seat yesterday and the smell is horrible.. I need to clean up under the seat. I don't know how to remove the back seat.
I have been trying to remove the back seat but it has 2 locking clicks; one one each side than I can not unlock. The clicks on front were easy to pop but this one on the side does not.
Try setting your fader entirely to the back speakers and tell me if the sound coming out is at all full/complete. I can hardly hear anything coming from the back.
View 24 RepliesI folded my back seat down, now it will not lock into the up position! I inspected the locking mechanism and it doesn't appear to have anything wedge in there.
