Phaeton :: Ground Point 397 When Adding Start Button

On the wiring diagram, it looks like the ground point 397 should be the one right next to the Kessy module. The one by the heater should be ground point 634. Does it matter or am I wrong?

Phaeton :: Electrical Malfunctions After Installing Stop / Start Button

I did the installation of the start/stop button and it works. However, I have some unresolved issues. I have done a search in the FAQ thread but could not find anything referring to the following:

1- When I lock the car, either with the fob or with the door buttons, the alarm will sound when I enter the car if I unlock it using the door handle sensors. I can disarm the alarm with the fob, but it is not disarming with the door handles. How can I solve this issue so that the alarm is disarmed with the door handles? Can this be solved using a VAG-COM?

2- When I turn on the alarm, either with the fob or the door handle, the alarm indicating light blinks for a few seconds, then goes steady, and then blinks normally. I had not noticed this steady light state before. My alarm, I think, always went straight to blinking and stayed blinking
.
3- When they gave me the car back the adviser said that the seat would not move and the trunk would not open. However, I think they ran down the battery because the interior light was on. The dash displayed the "start the car now" message.

a) I had an almost two hour drive back home, do you think that the battery recharged in that time?

b) Was there any lasting damage done to the battery?

c) Is it safe to charge the battery with a trickle charger or do I need a special and specific charger?

The trunk now operates OK and the start/stop button also works. I wish the alarm also did.

Phaeton :: Key Not Found Message On Display When Push Start / Stop Button

I can not start the car by pressing the Start / Stop button. The display shows the message "Key Non found". Remote control key with normally opens and closes the car but the car itself does not open the approach to it. I have two keys and the two are the same.

Elantra GD (2013+) :: Adding A Switch Or Button To Left Side Panel

Thinking about adding some led lighting on a switch to my 2013 elantra gt. I've noticed that on the left of the drivers console there are 4 blank plates on the switch panel next to the eco and dimmer switches.

I took apart the dash to see if I could just pop one out and add a rocker switch of some sort only to realized that the switch panel is all one assembly with a circuit board inside. Added a switch to their 2013+ elantra?

Prius (2010-12) :: Not Turning On - Start Button Light Is Red And Park Button Flashes Green

My Pris 2010 would not start this morning. My wife tried to start the car this morning and it would not start. All the symbols on the display light up and would not go. She then tries to turn off the car, but the Triangle symbol with the exclamation mark within it lights up. The Start button light is red and the Park button flashes green. Added to that is the constant beep that you hear when you try to close the door with the keys in the car. I cannot even turn the steering wheel. I had to get it towed to the Toyota dealer and am was told that i would hear back tomorrow.

Phaeton :: Key Went Synced When Press The Store Button

After setting the climate to 70F, Auto, and driver controlled for all occupants, start-up volume adjusted, e.t.c, I press the "STORE" button under the user profile settings. The key has been synced.

Every time i start the car up, it maintains these settings. If I press the big round knob on my name, it goes to these settings (my name, and assigned key icon)

However, if Im driving, and lets say, i adjust the temperature to 76F, then maybe later starts to get too hot, or cold, and I want to go back to my stored setting, it does not, it just stays on the new temperature. If I change the temperature manually again (2nd time), and I press the stored setting, it goes back to the setting i just had, which should NOT be stored. It usually just ignores the stored setting.

I also noticed that you can either press the large round knob, or the bottom right tap button where it says "SELECT" for your stored settings.

Phaeton :: What Is The Function Of Button In Sunroof Dial

I have quick question that probably has an equally quick answer. When I press up on one end of the sunroof control dial, it makes a click. I can only push it up when the dial is in the 'roof closed' position. I've read somewhere that this 'button' should do something, but when I press it nothing happens. Do pushing up the sunroof control dial is supposed to do anything?

Phaeton :: Button Crooked Inside The Cup Holder Housing

I went to push that bastard in yesterday (gently) and I felt something pop behind it - the button depressed, went crooked inside the cup holder housing and now won't "un-depress" and the cup holder won't "rise" back up. I've tried messing with it, but to no avail. Car's in for the 30K service, asked VW to take a look at it - I know its "only" a cup holder, so I'm not bent out of shape over this.

My rotary push button, the big round button in the middle of the infotainment system stopped working a day ago. It was working one day and stopped working the next. If freely rotates without any resistance, but doesn't carry out any of the previous functions that it performed. All the other buttons on the infotainment system work perfectly.

Phaeton :: DSG Stuck In Park And Won't Allow To Press In Button On Stick

I traded in my 2009 passat CC GT TDI and drove away in my spanking new phaeton full of smiles now after owning it for three weeks that has turned to a as its let me down four times and now yesterday after failing on my drive way was collected by the garage and taken back to the dealership for investigation.

The problem is when the car is cold sometimes it gets stuck in park. The symptom is the car starts fine and with the foot on the brake the green light goes on the dash and the light by the stick but im unable to press in the silver thumb button so i can select a gear. I can feel the the solenoid through the gear shift operate but the button still wont go in.

The car has only traveled lest than 1000 miles. I am really disappointed as you can imagine having saved up a lot of money to buy this luxury car. I know the garage will get it sorted but am I alone in having this problem.

Phaeton :: 2004 - Trunk Closure Button Inoperative

The button on the bottom of the trunk lid on my 2004 Phaeton that you tap to close the trunk is not working and the local dealer is scratching their "heads" since they've confirmed there is active power. Meanwhile my car is held captive until they hear back from VW corp. The trunk will close if I reach up and hit the center of the VW badge on the back of the trunk but its too tall for the wife to reach when the lid is open.

Yesterday I found that I could't lock the Phaeton by pressing the button on the outside door handles .

Ford Super Duty (1999-2016) :: Batteries Run Down To The Point That Sometimes Truck Will Not Start

I have a 6.0L diesel that is not a daily driver so it sits for days and even weeks at a time. When I go to start it the batteries will be run down to the point that sometimes the truck will not start and I will need to charge the batteries. I was thinking about installing a battery tender and leaving it plugged in so the batteries will stay charged. I'm looking at the tender in the link.

Phaeton :: Stalled Transmission Indicator - Engine Not Turn Off By Hitting Keyless Push Button

I started the car with keyless push button and almost immediately moved the gearshift selector from Park P to Drive D. I drove like this for several miles on traffic-congested surface streets. The Phaeton felt as if I was on 2nd gear. Upon stopping, and moving gearshift selector to P, Phaeton would not turn off engine by hitting the keyless push button Start/Stop. I had to plug in the key (had not done that in a long time!) and twist it counterclockwise to kill the engine. Upon rebooting the car (used to be called re-starting the engine, I guess), everything went back to normal.

Passat (B6) :: Car Doesn't Start After Adding Fuel

Ok, quick info on my car, 2006 2.0t, 76k miles. I'm all caught up on recalls, and just replaced the ignition coils and spark plugs last week.

Anyway this has been happening for a few months now. Whenever I add fuel to the car (1 gal or a full tank and everything in between) It won't start immediately after. It almost acts flooded at first, just chugs a few times, I have to attempt to start it 2 or 3 times then it'll run rough for 3-4 seconds and then be all fine. No other issues till the next time I fuel up. I do have a light on throwing a code about my cooling system but I need to get someone with a vag con to read it..

I was having problems starting my 2010 Kia Soul after adding gas. Didn't matter if I was filling it or just adding $10. No one knew what the problem was. Ford Ranger / B-Series :: Clutch Start To Engage / Disengage At Half Way Point On The Pedal Travel?

So I just had my entire clutch replaced while another repair was taking place. What I've noticed is the "clutch engagement" has changed. Where as I would have the clutch start to engage/disengage at the 1/2 way point on the pedal travel is now the last 1/4 of the pedal. Is this a "normal reaction to a new clutch that just takes getting used to or is there an adjustment I can fine turn it with? Do I just have to wait for it to "break in"? When I replaced the clutch on my dearly departed 94 ranger, I replaced the bearings & disc only reusing the pressure plate and did not have this issue.

Phaeton :: 2003 - Gearbox Malfunction - OK Button Won't Work On Steering Wheel - TPMS System Not Working

I just bought a 2003 W12 Phaeton with 55.000 km on the clock and a few problems that were knocked off the price.

The car is absolutely fantastic, so much better than my previous 4.2 A8, although I bought with a gearbox problem that dropped the price down to USD 8.000.

The gearbox issue is that it jumps from 1st to 2nd gear with a 'clock' and much harder when the other way around (2nd to 1st). Sometimes so hard that it automatically engages the "safe mode" with the yellow PRNDS sign on the screen. Once on 2nd gear and up, it runs smoothly.

My plan is to take the gearbox off the car and bring it to an expert mechanic on ZF gearboxes, as the VW dealer quotes USD 9.000 for a new gearbox.

Re the other issues, I have plugged in the VCDS after changing both batteries (a standard 90 Ah on the right, a VARTA G14 95 Ah on the left) which show many faults that I can't really identify. The problem I have noticed is that one button on the steering (the OK push button on the right) does not work and when it is pushed, the cruise is deactivated (?). Looks like this module will need to be replaced (VCDS says 'control module defective').

The other issue I have noticed is that the TPMS system doesn't work. On the screen it shows clocks on each wheel... and nothing happens. I guess it's the batteries of the sensors, so I am thinking of replacing them. Would this solve the problem?

I just realized that I did my last VAG-COM check before clearing previous DTCs, so I will do that now and come back to post it.

Accent MC (2006-11) :: Hard Start After Adding Fuel Or Fill Up

My 07 has difficulty starting, only after adding fuel, or a fill up. I thought at first it was due to over filling, but it occurs after adding any amount of fuel. If I leave the car running while attempting to fill up, it sputters and dies. I have to press the gas pedal to the floor to start it, and it sputters for a few minutes, then runs fine, and starts fine until fuel is added once again. I searched and found where the General mentions a Vapor hose, but could not find more.
