RNS810 ... My display went blank even though all the touch screen features are available (but hidden from view). Phoned VW who say there is a software update to address the blank screen issue - will try and get it done tomorrow.

The 2nd hand multi-information display panel is from a 2004 RX330 and what are the socket behind the display panel meant for.
what is the 4 socket connectors as indicated in the red circle in the image should be connected to?
Went to a meeting one evening last week with my 2010 Prius, everything working well. After the meeting we drove away and noticed that most of the dash display was "dark". Driving home and feeling a little gloom as I wondered what it might cost to fix the display problem.
I noticed the poster announcing the meeting we attended was laying on the dash and was pushed up to the display screen. I pulled the poster back an inch and the display came back on !! Pushed it forward and when it got within 1/2 inch of the display, it would blank out ??
It appears the dash display is some sort of bottom projection system to the display screen. Pushing anything up to the display screen blocks that bottom projection and blanks the screen.
I got in my 2010 Highlander and started it and the small display screen that shows gas milage, air temps, time, temperature. etc. just went white. It appears to have light behind it but will not display anything.
View 3 RepliesRecently brought a 2015 camry SE and wouldn't you know it, someone pulls out in front of me on the highway within a week of buying it. After getting the car back from the auto body shop, I've noticed that my multi information display has a blank screen. Didn't notice that before the accident. The first 3 screens I can set up as I want, the 4th screen is tire pressure and the 5th screen is blank. I've tried to find out what the 5th screen should be but I haven't been able to find an answer.
View 2 RepliesI was in my friends' new Corolla and Tacoma (both with the Entune Plus) and noticed right away that their backup camera image was much clearer than my 2014.5 SE with the base Entune Audio.
So I went to the Toyota Camry site and look at the current specs,
LE,SE standard
(6.1-in. touch-screen display)
XSE,XLE standard
(7-in. high resolution touch-screen display)
So I am wondering, has the XLE always had the high resolution display since 2012?
I am guessing the only cheap upgrade option is buying used display units to swap out. Does the rear camera need upgrading also?
2 days ago I started my car and the centre console screen failed to come on. This meant no a/c, tv, satnav, radio, etc, etc. None of the keys in the centre console worked. Although they were lit up with the car lights on they were not active.
When I used the steering wheel controls to scroll round, it did not come up with any information about phone, radio, position, etc.
My phone however still thought it was connected to the car. Luckily I'm still under warranty and I'm dropping it off today.
I came across a post where someone said it was possible to add a gauge/setting to the blank "gauge display" screen. I've searched and searched but can't find the post. Ho to add to the gauge display blank screen.
View 14 RepliesThere is what appears to be an icon on my touch display that resembles the battery icon on my smart phone. Currently is has one red bar lit up. I have not been able to find anywhere in the owners manual what this battery icon means and what to do when it is red.
View 2 RepliesWas driving today- had been on the road for about 30 mins, when suddenly the main screen above the center console went blank. It stayed blank for about 20s, and then returned to the A/C screen. I can't remember what it was on before it went blank - but it wasn't A/C. It is as though it's rebooted. It's forgotten what radio band and station it was on, but all other settings seem to have remained. No other sensations in the car - the multifunction display in the instrument cluster didn't blink.
View 2 RepliesThe instrument cluster screen in my 2004 phaeton suddenly stopped displaying anything today, I've tried removing and replacing fuses but still nothing, not even the backlight for the display is on, everything else is working fine its just the display. I need the car for a 600mi trip in 2 days.
View 3 RepliesI had my 07 prius detailed today and it looks real nice BUT, I started it up afterwards and the touchscreen was in diagnostic mode and the warning lights on the dash were acting up. The warning lights seem to be OK now except that the tire pressure indicator flickers like it is partially shorted. The issue with the touch screen is that it alternates every 10-15 seconds between diagnostic mode and the regular display but only when the ICE is running. If I am just sitting in shutdown idle ( like at a stop light) it behaves fine.

View 6 RepliesI took the Prius on a ski trip and halfway to our destination the speedometer display went blank and has not yet come back to life. It was fairly cold outside (-5 F) and I have seen other people blame the cold weather for a Generation II Prius.

Display screen blank- radio and AC work but cant control on touch screen (its blacked out), tried a few tricks that others had suggested
like hold info and cycle lights 4x
removed positive battery cable and replaced
held menu for a minute
etc etc
Gave up. Went to dealer expecting a unpleasant $$ (buy a new nav screen) type of surprise. nope! service writer pulled it in to the shop and ....
Disconnected the NEGATIVE battery cable. Fixed it right away and didn't charge me a thing (shouldn't have anyway) He said that sometimes the computer just gets scrambled and shuts itself off as a precaution. So if you nav screen is blacked out and unresponsive give that a try.
I had this happen once and nothing I did would get the heat to come on and it was cold outside. I ended up turning truck off then back on and it worked. What causes this?
View 5 RepliesThe battery went dead on my 2010 Prius and when I had AAA jump start the car the clock plus the display with odometer, mpg, hybrid battery graph etc, no longer light up. Everything else seems to work.
Is there any easy way reset it other than taking to the dealer? (Could a fuse have blown etc.?)
I just picked up my car from the body shop and noticed the outdoor temp display in the MFD blank (3 dashes) and the AC is blowing hot air. I don't hear the compressor going on either. The AC was working fine until I brought it in. (Why does it always end up like this?!)
Since this was an insurance claim due to a motorcyclist hitting the front driver panel and ripping off a portion of the bumper, the body shop said they didn't touch anything with the AC.
I'm bringing the car back in tomorrow morning so they can have a look and determine whether it was loss related. Is there a sensor in that area? What to check? I have the manual climate system (climactic?).
This has happened 5 times since I purchased in late Dec. Info Display (between tach and speedo) goes blank. I shut everything down, wait a few minutes and still nothing comes up. Most recently happened last Thurs, Sat. and Sun.
View 4 RepliesThe navigation screen on my recently went blank, while I was driving to my little brother's graduation. I can still see a faint outline of the screen, but other than that, it is hard to see. Have this problem with their navigation screen? I've tried look in the manual for a solution, but it doesn't have anything useful in it. I've googled for the solution as well, but most people said that if I were to bring it into the dealership, they would just replace my whole unit and that would cost $2000 or more, which is a no-go. I've tried to see if it was a fuse, but I got no idea what I'm looking at when I looked at the fuse box. I'm thinking it is maybe the backlight and that it maybe just died. By the way, the screen still works, I can still press on it and select my preset radio stations, but just can't see.
