Phaeton :: Changing Front Turning Signal Bulbs To LED
Oct 31, 2014
I thought it would look much cooler if the front turning signal light bulbs are LED bulbs. So I bought two, took the original bulbs out and put the LED ones in. It fitted perfectly but they do not light up. Don't exactly know why but I believe it's because the poles are reversed. Is there anyway to get it working?

My 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe right hand turn signal light bulbs flash rapidly both in the front and rear, the left hand side is normal. I am trying to locate the turn signal flasher module but without any luck, looked under the dash in the fuse box and under the hood in the relay box. Is it in the relay box...

Is there a way to change the bulb without removing the grill and headlight? Seems like a lot of work to replace a bulb. 2013 F350....

I have a 99 Camry and have two issues:
The brights don't work. After doing some research, I reached the conclusion that it is the dimmer relay, however I noticed that upon unplugging the relay, the regular headlights don't work until I plug it back in. Does this mean the relay is good, or is it just that the car is set up in such a way that if the relay isn't there, working or not, the lights won't come on? I know you can test it with a voltmeter, but I don't have one and the relay doesn't have a wiring diagram on it, so I'm not sure which two of the four plugs you'd use to test it. Worst case, I'll buy one off ebay and just send it back of it doesn't work, I just wanted to ask before I did that.
The front, right turn signal does not work. I tried a new bulb, that didn't work. The rear right signal works fine. I was told to try using tweezers to pull out the tabs in the socket in case one was stuck somehow and not making contact, but that didn't work. Did some research, but this is apparently a fairly rare issue. Someone suggested I get a metal file and file off the tabs to remove corrosion, so I wanted to get a second opinion on that, plus I'm not sure how to go about doing that. There is no easy way to pull the socket out, far as I can tell (unlike the headlights), though I suppose I could try without undoing anything if I really had to.

I got the HID kit for the fog lights of my C4 but couldn't figure out how to change the bulbs. I might get to the bulb on driver's side but it's impossible on the passenger side.

Is this any easier in my 2004 VW Passat than it was in my 2001 VW Jetta? In the Jetta, I had to disconnect the battery and dislocate my elbow and wrist in order to get my hand in the awkwardly placed compartment. Also, is it worth stepping up the original OEM to high intensity bulbs?

I have a couple of questions regarding changing out my headlight from halogen bulbs to an HID kit.
1st) What size bulb are the low beam (headlights)?
2nd) What HID kit would be recommended? I am trying to replace the halogen bulb with an HID bulb, a plug and play HID kit that will last but also does not reflect every where such as replacing reflectors with halogen to an HID kit.

I want to install some LED turn signal bulbs and lights but the flasher will flash twice as quick because of the burnt-bulb detector.
I have taken the flasher apart and tried all the tricks on the book to isolate each pin on the IC and changed the timing resistor without avail. I do not want to put in load resistor on the bulb end to fool the detection circuit.
I want to modify/cut off the detection circuit?

I'm trying to figure out what has failed on my 2008 Santa Fe.
After stopping at a gas station today, my right turn signal came on and stayed on. By this I mean that the right turn arrow on the dash is illuminated and both the front and rear right turn signal bulbs are illuminated. They are all on steady, not flashing. Moving the turn signal stalk/switch does nothing. They all stay on when the car is turned off and the key removed. I have to disconnect the battery to get them to shut off. I tried pulling the turn signal, hazard and cluster fuses in the dash, but they had no effect. The switch for headlamps/park lights has no effect on the right side bulbs.
The left turn signal works normally.
Also, it may be related to having unplugged the battery a couple of times, but now the CD player shows "initializing" and I can't use it. The am/fm stereo works normally.

Both rear signal lights are out, so are brake lights. Driving lights work, so are high beam lights and all front turn signal lights. What should I check? I have done some research, but I could not locate the fuse or the relay flasher for my 2004 Malibu Maxx.

I need detailed instructions for how to replace the right (passenger's side) rear turn signal bulb socket and the subassembly that holds the remaining bulbs and inserts into the tail light assembly. I've done this once before successfully but now can't seem to make it work now.
Without the subassembly inserted and locked into place with its locking tabs, the turn signal bulb locks into place in its socket, and that socket in turn easily inserts and locks into place in the hole in the outboard corner of the lens through the rear of the lens assembly. However, I can't seem to install both the turn signal bulb in its socket and the subassembly that holds the rest of the bulbs. The two contacts on the underside of the rim of the turn signal bulb socket would indicate that that the socket installs after the subassembly, but then it has nothing to plug into. When it's installed first, I don't see how the bulb would be energized.
The owner's manual of course says to have the dealer handle maintenance in this area.

How do I change my license plate bulbs? I can't seem to get the plastic covers to pop off without worrying about breaking something. Even reading about people saying the puddle lights were hard to change, i did mines in 10 minutes in the dark with a small flashlight lol.
This was a lot easier old my old g37/350z ....

I have a 2007 GS 430, 126,000 miles. Initially I had one faulty headlight that would not work but after turning the switch off/on, it would work again. Eventually both headlights started malfunctioning. After reading other forums, we elected to change the headlight bulbs. So far that has worked. However, after changing the bulbs, the VSC (Vehicle Stability Control) and check engine lights came on. After running the headlights and using the car to go to/from work with about 4 stops and restarts, the car reset itself and the warning lights turned off. Scared me at first because I had also just had suspension work done. However, the Headlamp Level Control System is part of the VSC system, which makes sense, just wasn't prepared for the warning lights.

I changed my headlight bulbs yesterday with D4S bulbs with 12K purple. After driving about an hour, the dash popped up a message saying headlight system failure, have dealer check headlight system. Both headlights are still on. I'm wondering why it is doing that? Hate to go back in and change it out again. It was a pita to change the bulbs.

I have now found a chit load of LED fog bulbs in my search. I don't want to change out the entire light, just the bulbs. How do the bulbs effect the side vision. Almost hit a deer a couple of nights ago with my F350.....don't want that

I have been reading threads all day. Noone seems to have exactly the same issue so I'm just looking for some clarification. Turn signals dont work but lights work as "parking lamps" and internal climate lights are not illuminating either. Also, my blinkers making the clicking noise but much faster when the turn signal bulbs are not flashing. I had a radio issue but that is resolved. Where do I start? Do I go right for the hazard relay? I read somewhere there was an ignition relay that could potentially be causing all of this?

Last weekend, while i was replacing a brake light bulb on my daughters car (!) , i had to use my car to get the bulb from the local store and guess what my "check lights" warning came on and since then a broken light bulb is showing on the left side of the center display and it does not go away anymore.
I have now at least checked every (visible) light bulb on the car twice and I can not find any bad one. Yesterday I checked the fuses and again all are fine.
Looking through the owners handbook (section 3 and 4), i can not even find any mentioning of the "bad light bulb" symbol.
So, here are my questions:
Is the orange (turnsignal) bar under the headlights used for anything else ?
