For some reason every time I start up the car the air con has reset itself to "low" resulting in me being blasted with ice cold air no matter what it was set to when I got out.

Phaeton :: Vibration While Driving - TPMS Goes Off Every Time Start The Car

Car just hit 161,000km and all has been running well except for 1 nagging issue and 1 new one.First the nagging issue.

In January, I put on Continental DWS tires on the Phaeton and soon thereafter noticed a vibration in the car while driving. I could feel it in the steering wheel and could see the passenger headrest vibrating as well.

I saw some posts on these tires from other Phaeton owners saying that they also experienced some vibration, so that's what I thought it was.

At least that's what I thought until I went to the dealer for an oil change. I asked them to check wheel balancing and they told me at least 2 of the tires were way out of balance and they fixed it but there is still some vibration.

They did a test drive and said since the vibration is coming from the center of the car, it could be the driveshaft? They told me it's a problem with the Touregs but not with the Phaeton.

It's been killing an otherwise great ride for the last 6 months.

Also, I had my TPMS sensors replaced last year and it's been working great.

However last week, it went off, I clicked to reset and it reset with both rear tires and trunk showing OK. The front tires show a reading but instead of OK beside both, it's completely blank and the damn TPMS goes off every time I start the car.

Subaru - Forester :: 2003 Won't Start (second Time) In The Cold

With the very cold weather I'm having problems getting my car to start again after it's been running a while--starts okay initially no matter the temp, run it for ~15 minutes then go to my first work stop. One hour later sitting outside in 0F and I can't get it to start, won't turn over. Just got a new battery, had the spark plugs/starter/fuel line checked "looks okay". Starts after it gets really cold again, needs to sit out for a few hours in the single or negative digits. Dealer is 100 miles away and I have not been happy with the service there.

Volvo - 940 :: Won't Start Every Time There Is Cold Or Snowy Weather

My mechanic installed a battery about a year and I have to get my battery charged each time the weather gets cold or snowy. I have had the battery charged 2 times this month.I have had this same problem last year calling motor clubs to charge my battery. My car is snowed in and shovel is stuck in my trunk because it will not open because my car wont start. I do not even know if there is a warrantee on the battery ...it may be a used battery.

Golf IV / Jetta IV :: Possible To Have Cold Start Mode Every Time?

Strange question but is there a way to have the engine start up in this mode every time its started?

Just wondering for show purposes trying to make a video, as my GTI has a big ass cam and sounds evil in cold start mode and doesn't have that opportunity as its 90-100 degrees here all the damn time...

Phaeton :: Cold Start Misfire For 10 To 20 Seconds

The last couple of times that I've started my W12 after sitting over night or longer I've noticed a misfire for 10-20 seconds and then it cleans up. Today the engine icon illuminated and after returning home I ran a VAG-COM scan which revealed these DTC's. There are 7 found faults at address 11.

My question is this- What exactly is causing this misfire issue? I'm assuming there is a faulty piece under the hood begging for attention but I don't know which item it is.

Everything else seems to be performing as it should but I see a few other faults showing up. Are any of those faults anything that needs looking into?

Phaeton :: Hard Cold Start / W12 Fire Up On Second Try

I have been having trouble with a hard cold start on my W12. when I go to start the car it will crank and crank I can hear it fire on a few cylinders but is not starting on the first try. It will then fire right up on the 2nd try and is fine when it is warm. I had it into the dealer and the replaced the battery in the key and cleared the misfire codes they also did the coil pack swap. I am still getting the hard starting...

Accord :: 93 LX - Belt In Engine Squealed Every Time On Cold Start

I have a belt in my engine that squealed every time I started the engine cold or got water on the engine (rain etc).

The belt itself has no cracks or fraying. I loosened the adjustment bolt on the alternator which raised the alternate up slightly and tightened the belt.

The squeal is completely gone even when starting from cold now.

Should I just conclude the belt was loose, or is there a precaution I should take?

Touareg :: Oil Pressure Gauge Takes Time To Move On Cold Start

When I start my TReg on a cold start it takes my oil pressure gauge about 10 to 15 minutes to even move up a little bit. My engine also has a loud clatter for about 1 minute when I start on a cold start. Is this normal, could I have a faulty gauge?

Phaeton :: Transient Flash Of A Red Warning Indicator At Cold Start Up

The last 3 cold weather starts (30-40 degrees) resulted in somewhat of a hesitancy when the engine turned over - started on the first attempt, though. And - the last time - there was a very transient flash of a red warning indicator in the large computer screen/info center in the instrument cluster - too fast to read - then ran a little rough for the first 15-30 seconds.

I recently had the 40k service completed and everything checked out fine. I did some reading about the ignition coil recall, but my symptoms don't sound like they lend to their failure.

Phaeton :: Knocking After Cold Start - Sound Of Lifters Clicking?

Since I had my 40k service a few months back, I hear a knocking sound for about 3-5 seconds after a cold start (overnight is long enough). It's a pretty loud clicking sound, even worse if the car hasn't been started for a few days.

I brought it to the dealership and they said it's "the sound of the lifters clicking before they get pressurized with oil". They said the oil level is fine. Doesn't seem kosher to me - didn't happen before the 40k service.

Could they have used the wrong oil? Or perhaps didn't put something back together again properly?

Lexus ES 2013+ :: Engine Whining Sound During Warmup Time After Cold Start

I own a 2013 ES 350 with 5000 miles.

On cold weather conditions, doing a cold start, I allow the engine to run and warm up for a minimum of 5 minutes before driving. In this time frame the engine goes thru the whining sound and then the engine noise is quiet (normal).

What do other owners allow for engine warm up time before driving.

Flickering low beam lights for several weeks and I decided to change both bulbs, pretty straight forward job, some 30 minutes for each side but when I went for a drive I noticed that ESP warning light on all the time, looked in the manual, tried to turn it on / off, no change. Phaeton :: Won't Go Straight - Steering Not Same All The Time?

For some time now my phaeton won't go straight and I have to counter steer. This happens often when the road is uneven. But this doesn't happen on a parking lot. For example when theres a light curve to the left on the motorway I can keep the steering whell straight. I noticed that some days the steering is fine - but these days a rare. So the "weirdness" of the steering isn't all the time the same sometimes it's stronger and sometimes less. The weird thing is last week I hit a kerbstone with the right Wheel - nothing serious, just a bit - but the steering felt suddenly totally weird - I had to counter steer even stronger. But when I got in the car again after 4hours the steering was as before the hit.

I checked the tyre pressure, changed the left wheels to the right but no change. This happens even on other wheels. 245/15r19 and 235/55r17. The car has 120000km ~ 75000miles

I was at the dealer but they told me there's nothing wrong with the car - two guys where doing a test drive with me - they probably just wanted to get rid of me. Next week I have a appointment at another VW service but I fear they don't take me serious.

My V6 Tdi is in the garage with a leaking cylinder head, this is the 2nd time the head has required replacing first at 46,000 now the replacement head is leaking ( porous ) after being on the car for 80,000. So ! 2 heads in 2 years.

Phaeton :: ESP Light Resets Every Time When Car Turned Off And Comes On After Driving

Well this past week I have been getting the ESP light lit in my cluster during my weekly commutes. 1st: My car is a 2005 05 V8 model with 96K miles. The ESP light resets every time when the car is turned off and comes on after driving (varies), no hard CEL triggering with the condition. I notice yesterday that the ESP light comes on faster when I am coming up a hill. Yesterday when I started out on flat ground the light was off most of the trip (about 10 miles), it wasn't until I hit the hill on my way home that it illuminated (the final mile of my trip). One other major symptom, the Cruise Control does not "SET"; Cruise turns on and I see the indicator in the cluster, but when I hit the set function, it doesn't set the speed control. This happens both before and after the ESP light illuminates.

I have a VAD Pro and I ran a scan, both at the halt and on the move, the ESP light does NOT throw out a DTC in the ABS module or any others. However, their is one persistent fault that reoccurs (00526), faulty brake light switch; the Ross Tech site stated this is normal in some Automatic transmissions; if you do not push the brake pedal before the scan. My brake lights work fine & I understand their is two sets of contacts in the switch. Again, this DTC (00526) does not set the CEL. But, I am not ruling out a faulty brake light switch.

I performed a Goggle search and found an Audi A8 with an ESP issue, one of the members pointed to hydraulic unit under the hood , here is the link. [URL] ....

Phaeton :: Warning Lights Went From Green To Yellow And Red / Beeping All The Time

My wife was driving down our street today, a two way street, narrow at best of times. On one side a monster snow pile ( 6-7ft high), the other side a very big truck coming at her, minimal passing room, like almost touching her mirrors.

The warning lights on both sides went from green to yellow and red ...beeping all the time. The Phaeton stalled. Not once or twice, but four times !!

Question : did the engine stall because of the red beeping lights on both sides sensed imminent danger ? ...... and she kept on going. She thinks so.
