Phaeton :: 2005 - Trunk Nonoperative After Battery Goes Flat

o5 P with a bad brake light switch (going in next week) ran the left battery flat. Charged it back up and car runs fine but electric trunk is now non-op. Button on emblem will make a click and flash taillights but no action. Same with fob. Same with button on trunk and button in door. Valet switch is off. I tried the reset with manual trunk open, fob, button but no joy. I believe I read there's a trunk reset in VagCom. Latch and manual key work fine. Did I blow a fuse to the latch?

Phaeton :: 2003 - Engine Doesn't Start After Flat Battery Replacement On W12

The Phaeton is a 2003 6.0 W12 model. The car used to be a demo car and has currently around 80.000 km. It is not equipped with a keyless entry system. I recently put an Xcarlink device to connect my iPod. All the rest is a standard equipment (basically all available at that moment).

The problem with the car started when I could not open from the remote key. I tried to open the driver door, but the never used lock jammed. The only option was opening the trunk using the key. I had to lift the lid using some force against the dumpers, but it worked.

As the both batteries on the car were original 2003 (so went through the showroom period as well) I new that they cause the problem.

I bought two new batteries and replaced them. I proceeded according to the service manual so disconnected the right battery -, right +, left -, left +. I am pretty convinced that I did not blow the battery isolator. The left battery applied is 95Ah in place of 92 before. It has the max current of 800 A in place of 850 A. The right battery is exactly the same specification as before. After testing the old batteries the left one showed current of 2.8V so it was definitely broken. The right one seemed to be OK (12.58V)

After replacing the batteries I could open the car and all the entertainment systems and electronics inside would work except for:

1) The suspension lifting and tire pressure warning lights are on.

2) I cannot start the engine - it does not crank at all even using the emergency mode - two times start and back to accessories mode

3) The trunk lid does not close automatically.

I am getting the car towed to the local VW dealer tomorrow, but I am afraid they will see the Phaeton for the first time in their lives (small Dutch dealer nearby Utrecht), so I am a bit afraid of the car.

Phaeton :: LH Battery Change - Power Trunk Not Working

Today I changed my LH battery due to some issues i had when leaving the can unused for a day or two. I followed the changing procedure listed on the forum and everything went as planned. However now my power trunk wont work. I used the procedure to sync the power trunk but now when i hold the trunk button on my keyfob the lights flash etc but no sound or movement from the trunk.

Phaeton :: How To Keep The Trunk Closed And Still Hook Up Battery Maintainer

After checking out most of the many threads about battery maintenance etc. I couldn't find anyone mentioning how to keep the trunk closed and still hook up battery maintainer....would also be interested in specific model of small safe maintainer. Maybe removing the Ski bag and running out through one of the back windows ????? I don't drive the V8 Nar but about once a week for short trips in winter especially.

Phaeton :: 2005 - Starts Up Fine When Disconnect Starter Battery

I have been suffering from LH battery drain for some time now. sometimes its random I will park it for 10 min. come back and the battery is drained (I have to use the key to gain entry). sometimes it only happens over night, where other times the battery doesn't go dead overnight. so last weekend I decided to change the brakes...That was easy but then I forgot to hook up my battery maintainer...so you know what happened! now the problem is I charged the battery and hooked it back up. No start! everything works fine the battery is fully charged and only 1 year old.

But this is the weird part if I disconnect the starter battery the car starts up fine. I hook both batteries back up and try the parallel start way (turn to start then full counter clockwise then full clockwise several times no luck). the LH battery is drained now after a few start and stops (no driving) and the starter battery is fully charged. but with both batteries hooked up it wont even attempt to start and now I also have no power to the power trunk!!! this car is starting to suck balls.

Phaeton :: 2005 W12 Won't Start - Original Battery Show About 14 Amps

I am 150 mi from my service dealer and my 2005 W12 won't start . The dash lights go on , a/c vents open etc, but the keyless start or the key itself does nothing .

I recall that there may be a way to use the Accessory Battery to start the car, but I don't recall the routine. I don't want to have any local roadside service messing around. BTW it is the original battery and shows about 14amps.

Phaeton :: Flat Tyre Warning Came On

I'm getting an erroneous intermittent "Flat Tyre" warning on one of the 4 corners. Usually only happens after about 10-15 minutes of highway driving. I haven't had the problem on city driving. Pressure is good on the "faulty" corner. After resetting the tire pressures and the TPMS relearning, everything is then fine again . . . only to return the next time I'm on the highway.

Phaeton :: Won't Hold Idle / Flat Spots During Rev

I had the car in to replace the inner CV boot and repair a leaking trans flex seal. About 30 minutes after I left the shop, I lost all acceleration and the car basically crawls around. Halfway to work and almost late for meetings, I was afraid it was a failing fuel pump so I rigged both fuel pump relays closed and it seemed to get better... I pulled the relays while at work, re-inserted at the end of the day and headed home. About halfway home the acceleration issues came back (with the rigged relays), and I barely made it to my driveway. Pulled codes, and see these:

16732 - Camshaft Position Sensor (G163)
P0348 - 001 - Short to Plus - MIL ON

18711 - Leak in Air Intake System
P2279 - 002 - Lower Limit Exceeded - MIL ON

16408 - Bank 2: Camshaft B (Exhaust)
P0024 - 008 - Retard Setpoint not Reached (Over-Advanced) - MIL ON

I checked for vacuum leaks and can't seem to find anything tell-tale. I have seen the Camshaft Position Sensor before, but the car ran fine. Probably time to get around to replacing it, but what about the Leak in Air Intake System? Car really hates to idle. Also, MIL is pretty much always on for me due to an unhappy trans that disables ESP.

My v8 2004 shows on and off L front flat tire caution sign. (may be once a week or so for last 1 month)it happens usually when i start driving in cold weather usually. when i turn my vehicle sign the pressure system is usually ok. i have checked the tire pressure and it is fine and it drives fine. Phaeton :: TPMS Sensor - Flat Tire Warning Comes At Virtually The Same Time When Drive

I have one TPMS sensor that incorrectly tells me I have a flat when I do not. I presume the sensor is faulty because the wheel was moved to the rear as part of a recent service and the problem moved with the wheel.

What I find peculiar is that the flat tire warning comes at virtually the same time when I drive, about ten or so minutes into the journey, and leaves about five minutes later, usually not to return. Indeed, when I occasionally drive the car to work, I know when the signal will come on, within about .25 mile.

I have a '10 with only 4k miles, driven very little. Car might sit for three weeks and sometimes, not always, car won't start, dead battery. I have checked starting voltage and battery. Both check good, (after i have recharged battery, of course). Is this normal? I certainly hope not.

Prius (Gen 2) :: 12V Battery Running Flat After 20 Min Of Listening To Radio

I have a 2007 fully loaded generation 2 Prius. From time to time over the past four years I have had occasion to see it in the car and listen to the radio for approximately 20 or 30 min. Up to the end of last year this has not been a problem. Unfortunately three or four times this year listening to the radio for approximately 20 min has caused the 12 old battery to fully discharge. Leaving it impossible to start the car. Then having to get jumper cables to start my prius. It seems ridiculous that the battery should fully discharge after this short period of listening to the radio. In standard cars you can listen to the radio for at least 3 to 4 hours easily. Why should the 12 old battery in the Prius be any different to the battery that is in standard cars?

Prius (2004-09) :: 12v Battery Going Flat Every Couple Of Days

Prius was running wonderfully until a few weeks ago. Recently, about 2 months ago, bought a new 12v battery. Everything was working fine.

About two weeks ago, the car wouldn't start. Jump started all good. Drove fine. If left unstarted for a day, it goes flat the next day. If driven every day, car will start fine.

Battery volt reads 14.1V whilst driving. I checked on the MFD screen.

Accent LC (2000-05) :: Heater Fan Stay On With Key Removed And Battery Went Dead Flat

I've a Hyundai 03 Accent that wont turn over. The heater fan would stay on with the key removed and subsequently my battery went dead flat.

I tried to roll start, then jump start to no avail. I fully charged the battery overnight but now when starting the car there is no response. I checked the battery - 12.7 volts. Checked the fuse' under the hood, getting power there. Checked the power supply to the ignition switch - 12.7 volts.

There is no lights on the dash - i.e., engine check, airbag etc. But the interior overhead lights, door open and headlights all work fine.

Iv'e got a hold of an 00 accent running fine and have been swapping parts out. I swapped all the fuses I could see that might be causing the problem. Swapped ignition switch. Swapped fuses under the dash.

I have power to the ignition switch with the key out. Key in, no power to switch. On the running accent I have power to different wire depending on key location.

Prius (2004-09) :: Hybrid Battery Runs Flat Every Morning - No Electric Power To Accelerate

It's been like that for a a while now. Every morning the hybrid battery would run down to last bar. When I start the car it would be 3/4 full and it would keep draining even though I'm on flat road.

The overall mileage has not changed much but its annoying with the battery goes to last bar and there's no electric power to accelerate.
