View 7 RepliesI have a 2007 Ranger XLT 2 Door Extracab and have a question about the seats in this vehicle. I'm a 6' 1" guy and have long legs. I've lamented how little travel the seats (esp the drivers seat) has. Since I have long legs I have the seat as far back as it apparently goes. On long trips, this becomes exceedingly uncomfortable. To top it off, I had a knee injury recently and the range of motion of my knees are less than normal, making it impossible to drive the truck with the limited ability to move the seat further back.. My question is: Is there a way to get the seat to go further back, without extensive engineering work? I've noticed this seems to be a Ford thing as my wife's 2012 Escape has the same problem.
View 1 RepliesMy reverse lights and back up alarm will not engage unless i hold up on the shifter while in reverse the only thing i found was a adjuster for the indicator....
View 14 RepliesWhen using the power lumbar adjustment in the seat back of my wifes 08 eddie bauer explorer, it stopped moving and I now hear a snapping / popping noise from the seat back. Is there any way to remove leather seat cover to check out what might have come loose or broke?
View 5 RepliesI've searched and can only find instructions/details on 6.4L and older Super Duty trucks. The process is the same to adjust the gear box for a 6.7L?
View 5 RepliesMy low beams are out of adjustment. just wondering where the screws to re-aim the projectors. its a Hella factory headlight housing if it matters.
View 4 RepliesSo I can successfully set the height at which the tailgate should stop, and in fact, the "power" function seems to stop there. But once the motors stop doing their thing, it just keeps slowly creeping up, as though the gas pressure in the struts is too strong for the tailgate weight. It's brand new, so this wouldn't be surprising. But is that the way it's supposed to work? If so, what's the point of setting a height at all? In my case, I want it top stop just a couple inches before hitting my garage door.
View 1 RepliesIs there a way with VCDS to adjust the speedometer reading to match my GPS? The reason I am asking is that I have the wrong winter tire size on my car (205-55-R16) and the difference is 15km/hr more the I really drive.
View 6 Repliestook my car to the dealer to get a key programmed. Its a 2006 passat 2.0t 6speed auto. Anyway, they couldn't get the key to read and now I have a fault on my dash. "Immobilizer adjustment fault". How do I get rid of it?
View 1 RepliesJust picked up my new Passat. Amazing car! Quick question: in the manual it says if you adjust the left mirror, the right mirror will adjust at the same time. I can't get mine to do that. Is it a typo in the manual?
View 5 RepliesI had a low beam bulb go out a month ago on the driver side. I bought some silvania silverstars to install on both sides. The drivers side went fine but as I installed the passenger side the inside reflector housing came loose, apparently popping off some spring clips inside the headlight housing. The passenger side headlight assembly now pointed towards the ground 10 feet in front of the car... I tried to adjust the screws to bring the light pattern back up. No joy.
Anyway I messed and messed trying to get the reflector housing to fit back on the spring clips. I ended up having to pull the bumper apart and the whole front side of the car to totally remove the headlight assembly. Once I got it out I found these little ball/socket spring clips and was able to put the assembly back together.
Now my issue is I have lost track of the adjustment screws and where the headlights should point. Any formula such as, "park your car 10ft from the garage door on the flat level. The low beam should be 30 inches off the ground on the bottom and the 40 inches at the top. The beam should be 50 inches from the center line of the car" Something like that so that I can get my headlights back to factory settings.
I have a 2001 VW Passat with only 75K miles. The manual seat adjustment started working sluggishly, so I took to my mechanic. I was told that the mounting is very thin sheet metal and cracked. They welded it up and it is somewhat better, but not nearly as good as new. Can't imagine that my problem is unique. Still a safety issue here - should VW have a recall?
View 1 RepliesI have 2008 vw passat 2.0t.. I want to know, if my passat has a range control adjustment motor for a automatic leveling the headlights or automatic headlights, how I can get to know if the car has a that feature inside of the headlights.
View 11 RepliesI pushed in my lighter about 10 minutes ago to light a cigarette, and now it won't come back out!! I tried prying it out to no avail.. and the outlet stays on when the car is off.
View 3 RepliesI have a 99 1.8t and my sunroof motor is dead when i try to manually shut it, it just keeps sliding back . How to properly shut it manually if it's raining outside.
View 9 RepliesI have noticed that when i am entering the car from the drivers side, after unlocking with the keypad, when i leave the door open for 30sec or so, the car will automatically lock back up. The door does not know its open.
View 2 RepliesMy back right passenger window won't go down, it just makes a noise like its trying, you can pull the window down, and then it goes up electrically about half the time, otherwise you have to manually pull it up.
View 6 RepliesWhen the hood comes right back down does that mean I just have to replace the gas shock that opens and closes it?
View 4 RepliesI had a whole bunch of change in the little drawer next to the hazzard light button, and some change fell behind the drawer making it impossible to close. I removed the change, and forcefully removed the dash drawer (maybe not the best technique, but it came out). I was able to remove the change, but now cannot figure how the drawer goes back in. There's a little brass coil which I'm not sure how to attach to the drawer and I assume the back of the cavity.
View 1 RepliesPassenger side headlight doesn't flicker or anything unusual but it just goes dead at one time then goes back on. For sure, something loose inside that does it. Bulb is still good.
View 8 RepliesMy son spilled some milk in the back seat yesterday and the smell is horrible.. I need to clean up under the seat. I don't know how to remove the back seat.
I have been trying to remove the back seat but it has 2 locking clicks; one one each side than I can not unlock. The clicks on front were easy to pop but this one on the side does not.
