It seems to be on all my doors making me think this is just how they are ...
Basically I put the dry window down and it comes back up covered in small water droplets. That's not a big concern by itself but if it's not just some random part like the weather sealing that stays damp and my doors are holding onto a bunch of water that has me worried.
A few months ago I purchased a 2002 4Motion wagon with 62,000 miles on it. I've discovered that in a hard rain that water is leaking into the car through both rear doors.
It seems that the water is coming in right where the rubber L-shaped bracket is located at the bottom of the door. I've removed those L-shaped rubber brackets and the problem still exists. It seems that the drain plugs on the door are not clogged.
I'm concerned that it has been going on for while prior to me owning the car and that a floor that has been frequently wet is going to be a problem long term - rust issue.
I just bought a 2008 Passat last week, and am still learning all the features in the car. I previously had an '05 Jetta, and I was able to remotely open all of the windows by holding the key in the unlock position.
My manual says that I can roll down all of the windows from the remote by holding the unlock key on the remote, but it doesn't work. I have even checked the settings to make sure that the "Convenience" option is set to "All" windows. Am I missing something? What do I have to do to get the windows opened / closed remotely?
My Prius C is 5 months old, and the rains just started recently. I realize I have a problem I never had with previous cars: when the car is wet (whether it's raining or not) the beads of water on the side windows reflect light and really hamper visibility. I'm constantly having to roll down the windows to see. I drive mainly around town, so not at high speeds that might blow away the beads (not sure it would anyway). I notice that the windshield only gets these beads up high, where the wipers don't go. The glass where the wipers go stays clear -- no beads.
View 16 RepliesI have noted on my new car that the windows are covered with water spot residues that I can not remove. I washed the car by hand and the deposits remain. I prefer not to return to the dealership for this matter.
View 9 RepliesI am a new RCF owner. I have one small complaint - water on the side windows after rolling them down then up again. If I wash my car by hand or get a car wash or it rains, I can't roll my windows down and then back up without a crazy amount of water on them.
Of course when that water on the windows dries it ruins my otherwise clear car. And its not like I am rolling the window down right away. Its hours later or the next day at it still comes back up wet. Its basically to the point where I don't bother rolling my windows down because of the wetness.
I have checked to make sure the bottom drains on the door are clear. As an experiment I took my girlfriends Hyundai Elantra to the car wash and then rolled the window down and up...nothing, no water at all. I don't get it.

View 15 RepliesWhen I got water drops on my side windows (from rain or frost), rolled it down then up didn't clean off the water. Even worse, all the water drops were untouch.
Is the same to your car, or it's just my car?
Got my car over the weekend and didn't drive until today as I was waiting for the insurance paperwork to clear. Opened my door this morning to find a nice stream of water coming out of a hole (drainage?) at the bottom of the door. It was a good amount of water that came out, and I could hear water in the door when I closed the door.
Opened all the other 3 doors and had a nice puddles of water next to each door. It was raining here Monday and Tuesday. Is there supposed to be that much water just sitting in the car after a rain? I feel like I've never seen that much water come out of a car's cervices a day after rain.

I went into my 2011 se this morning and noticed all 4 doors had water stains on the headliner in the exact same spots. Not sure how this happened and how it's all 4 doors in the exact same spot. Another weird thing is, I don't have a sunroof.

I have noticed recently after couple of rainy days that my driver door and passenger door sills are filled up with water I assumed that there is a leak from underneath the door which comes from in between the door and the wheel. Is it like i have to buy an after market plastic covers to stop this leakage?

Now it is completely covered with incredibly stubborn water stains. I tried washing, scrubbing, rubbing compound and lots and lots of vinegar and made hardly any progress.
View 4 RepliesWe have a 2002 Cadillac Eldorado that started filling up with water. There is literally inches of standing water on the floor, condensation on all the windows, and all the upholstery is soggy. I've vacuumed it out and left the doors open to try to aid in airing/drying it out, but when I go back in an hour the water has accumulated on the floor again.
My husband drilled a few holes in the floor to allow the water to drain out, and we removed the back seat to see if we could find where the water was coming from. The water accumulates in the seat compartment where the seat was removed, and though the holes in the floor drain the water somewhat, it still collects there. Now there is mold/mildew starting to develop and I've used a bleach water solution to try to arrest that, but I'm really getting sick of dealing with this car.
He says we can't sell it until we get another 8000 miles out of it, but we can't drive it when it's all wet like this, and he doesn't want to put any more money into it--
Having the problem my RC 350 has: after a car wash or rain, water seems to stay inside the door. If I roll down the window and roll it back up, the outside surface of the window is soaked. It seems like water is trapped in the door for several days. This can't be normal!?!?
View 9 RepliesMy car has over 120,000 miles, runs great, oil changes every 3-5K. Love this car! Last month before I took it to the car wash to hand wash (can't go through auto with the soft top), always careful not to use high power around the windows, but this time I tried the "hot wax". The next time that we had a very hard rain, I noticed water dripping into the car from the top of the windows right around were the rubber seams meet.
I thought, ok, maybe it's because it was such a hard rain. However... when ever it rains more than a very light rain, water is getting in from the same place on both sides of the car. What can I do to stop the leak? I'm hoping that I don't have to replace the whole top, nothing else is wrong and I don't see a leak anywhere else.
I have a 95 SL1, 175,000 miles. Both front doors and the right rear door have water leaks. Leak is at the top edge of doors. Seals look ok. During heavy rain it is bad, soaking the seats and floor boards. Would adjusting the door lock striker by pulling the door in tighter to make a more positive seal or should I replace the door seals. I have friends you own Saturns and they have similar problems with door water leaks.
View 5 RepliesThe doors on my truck were leaking water into the cab due to poorly adhered splash shields on the interior of the doors. The splash shield sits between the door shell and the trim panel.
Signs of the leak are water pooling in the groove in the weather strip at the bottom of the opening. Mine were pooling water at the front of the opening and when the door was opened you could see the water running down from behind the door panel.
If you have a water leak along the door opening on a newer vehicle, make sure your dealer checks for this new TSB. It was supposedly only put out in the last week.
There is water sound under dash. I read about clogged drain so I tried sticking up a thin rod from drain line and gets stopped after some length. Should I force it up (push, hit harder) or will that break something? Is there a angle bend?
I did not get a water leak on carpet yet but the sound is getting more so more water collecting? What should I do next?
So I have noticed this issue where whenever I put a window down and then roll it back up, there will be smears of moisture all over the outside of the window. It does it on both front windows, don't often put the back ones down so I don't know if it affects those.
What this suggests is that the seal/pad that runs against the outside of the window is retaining some moisture in it and deposits it on the window as it slides past.
What I am concerned about is the possibility of there being excess moisture on the inside of the door. Has not happened in several days as the cold weather has kept the moisture low and/or frozen.
Took the car outta storage today. After driving home with the windows partially down, i rolled them up and then herd 3 beeps and a couple lights flash on the dash. I drove around a little more and did the same thing... window partially down, then back up and i got 3 beeps and some lights on the dash flash.
