View 6 RepliesLately my roof lining has been 'squeaking' when I drive over textured surfaces. I previously reported to the dealer as a sunroof issue but now I detect that it's coming from the headliner behind the sunroof. It seems that the lining is loose. How I should approach the dealer to explain this? Am I using the right jargon? All my rattles have been eliminated bar this one and it drives me nuts!
View 24 RepliesI have a 2005 Toyota Camry LE, 4 cylinder. Every time it rains the passenger side roof lining gets wet and floor gets a puddle. I did not see any drain holes in the moonroof area. I have read that the drains get clogged, but cannot find them. Looked behind the front wheel wells and did not see any drain tubes.
View 4 RepliesHow to keep roof vents from falling out? I had one that was falling out in 3rd row for quite a while which did not bother me to much but today had 1 on passenger 2rd fall & hit my mother. So my question is what can I do to keep them in? It's like PO wrecked all of them he was very messing owner I'm still finding pop in spots on the headliner.
View 10 RepliesWhat the heck went wrong going 75 mph down the freeway and hear your engine falling out of the truck. I have a 2000 F250 Diesel 7.3 which I bought new the last of 1999 and have 356,000 miles on the engine. I got the s--t scared out of me yesterday. Anyhow I pulled over and killed the engine got it back home and this is what I found.
The bolts come out of the torque converter all but two and they were about to come out too as they were loose. I have never seen anything like this before in the way the studs in the converter where put in. If you look at the pictures you can see that there looks to be an insert in a hole and then the stud put in and drilled with two roll pins on each side. I think that some one has modified this converter to fit this truck. I did have the transmission rebuilt around 200,000 miles ago from a very know transmission shop. Later I am back on the road.
I got a "Bulb Out" warning but all the bulbs were working...so I go inspect all the lights on the wagon and notice the taillight is melted and falling apart on the inside! Wtf?? Ugh...!! I've never had something like this before. Is this common? The light still works but its all melted on the inside and the plastic ring on the inside is falling down.... Quick pic...
View 9 RepliesI have an Passat B6 2006 2.0 TDI, and my girlfriend has an Golf V plus 2007 so there is a lot to write for...
But my first question is: How to change the struts on a 2006 B6 sedan...
The interior trim pieces that are located where the ceiling intersects with the door are falling out. I tried using Gorilla glue to hold them in place but the heat keeps melting it. If I order the new part from the dealer is the trim easy to install myself?
View 3 RepliesThe only problem I am having with this car is that the sunglass case in the overhead console behind the sunroof controls will not stay shut. It keeps falling open. I suspect it will have to be replaced. I hate to go to the dealer if I don't have to.
View 13 RepliesI have an 01 B5 Passat and the interior cloth covering surrounding the front door frames keeps coming off the rubber gasket. I have tried many different types of glue and contact cement but nothing seems to last longer than a few months.
View 3 RepliesPurchased a 2010 Tiguan Wolfsburg edition 2 days ago and giving its first wash I noticed the hood up front doesn't quite line up with the front grill. I'm not sure if I'm being overly picky or if I could have stumbled upon some major problems. Carfax came back clean- 1 owner lease, no accidents. Upon further inspection, it looks like the bolts that hold the hood onto the hinge and the bolts that hold the drivers side qtr panel have paint scraped off the tops like they've been removed. The vin sticker on the qtr panel match the vehicles vin, so I'm not sure what to think or do or how to further investigate this.
View 7 RepliesI was in the car wash the other day and got sprayed by a little bit of water that came in from the moon roof. When I went through the blower, I put may hand up and felt the air blowing in. Is there any way to adjust the unit so it closes or maybe replace the felt seal that is on the perimeter. Since I live in AZ, its not a a major deal, but it is annoying none the less. Let me know what you think.
View 1 RepliesI have some trouble with some rubber lining coming off my car, I'd like to re-attach it but don't know what kind of adhesive to use that is weatherproof and long lasting.
View 4 RepliesI put on new Power Stop drilled and slotted rotors with Hawk ceramic pads. I did the brake in runs and could feel the stopping power improving. When I got back to the house I looked at the rotors and I noticed that on the driver's side the pads are not parallel to the rotor. They are hitting on the outer edge of the outboard side and the inner edge (closest to the hub) on the inboard side. Took it all back apart and I can't see and reason for this. Double checked all the mating surfaces and didn't see any problems. I torqued the caliper brackets to 150 ftlbs and the lug nuts also to 150 ftlbs. Is it a problem the caliper sliders?
View 9 RepliesJust wondering if this would hurt anything or if it's a splash guard of sorts. There's been previous posts about the alternators being mounted too low on these trucks and getting water damaged over short periods of time.
View 14 RepliesI have done some vag com mods, and noticed that the front dome lights and one of rear lights in the roof, are dimming very low, is it some kind of convenience stuff or something is messed up?
Done all the coding through long coding so it should be fine, however I think it might be the case (of wrong voltage, I am using leds in interior lighting, or it is due to some comfort options....)
I put a Thule roof rack on my wagon a month or so ago and I have noticed that when we turn a corner or hit/go over bumps that it sounds like the roof is popping? Is this normal? what can I do to make it stop?
View 5 RepliesI have a 2013 GS350 thats lowered on Tanabe Springs and 20s. It looks nice but the only problem i have is rubbing against the plastic (that what it sounds like) lining in the fender well. This only happens when I make a quick left turn or U turn. The tire size is 245/35/20.
View 5 RepliesSo my car is almost one year old, and I just hit 32k miles. (I drive 4 hours home quite often) Anywho, I just got a CEL today, and I am due for an inspection next month. The dealership offers free inspections in VA for life, but I find it pretty coincidental that I got the light now.
View 3 RepliesI filled up on sunday, drove about 100 miles and on tuesday my check fuel cap warning went off. I pulled over took the cap off, put it back on and started the car back up, light still on. I drove about 25 miles turned the car off and back on about 5 minutes later, light was off. When i started up this morning the light was still off but about a mile of two from my house my CEL went on. I would imagine they have to be related, should i just take it in?
View 4 RepliesHappy owner of a TDI - SEL for just over a year. One week shy of my 40K service, the alternator failed. All repairs covered with my extended warranty. Tech said he hadn't seen another alternator go bad and certainly hadn't seen a 1 year old TDI with 40K miles! Any alternator issues? otherwise been quite happy with the car.
