Passat (B7) :: RNS-510 / RVC Control Module Intermittent / No Signal
Nov 4, 2013
I have a problem with the Bold-Sport camera, but am not sure if it is the radio, the camera, or even possibly a fuse. I get a fault code with vcds that says the rvc control module intermittent/no signal. Once I clear the code, and put my car in reverse with the headlights on, the camera does not work, or works for a second, and shuts off. If i turn the exterior lights off, the camera seems to function normally. As soon as I turn exterior lights back on, camera no longer displays again. I have been having some problems with the rns-510, so am assuming it could be the radio, but am not too sure. The problem I have with the radio is that sometimes not all the interior light hard buttons light up. I will post up a pic as soon as I can.

Installed a used comp controller and now vag-com is giving me the a code:
1 Fault Found
01315 - Transmission Control Module
004 - No Signal/Communication
Freeze Frame:
Fault Status: 01100100
Fault Priority: 4
Fault Frequency: 1
Reset Counter: 138

I have taken it off and put it back on, I have cleared that code and re-scanned and still receive it. Have not driven car to see what it feels like as of yet.

Looking for instructions how to 'match' the Airbag control module with VAGcom? Bought a 2001 Passat 1.8T manual, found code:
01224 - Control Module Does Not Match Vehicle
35-00 - -
Full scan below. Note: bad ABS module removed and sent out for repair (that's why is does not show up in scan, and triggers other code).
Also need to look into crash sensor. Is that the one bolted to the floor under the front seats under carpet? Part number?

I have the below multi-function steering wheel installed on my 2008 Passat. The steering wheel came out of a 2010 CC and the buttons do not currently work.
Which steering wheel control module would I need and what is the price on that?
Besides the steering wheel control module and programming via VCDS/VAGCOM, do I need anything else for this to work?

2000 B5: new front rotors & pads 3000 miles previous. Now on sharp turns L or R the dash signal 'check discs' appears. Always resets upon restarts. Can be triggered by reversing the vehicle and bumps. Turns less than 90 degrees are usually not a problem. Both front wheels were pulled; no apparent wiring or connector problems. Any quick fixes? How to disconnect this electronic aide? and avoid the irritating "beep". I drive very low miles / year and know how to monitor brake wear.

How to fix SES P0670?? I understand there's a whole procedure on checking fault.
P0670:GPCM Glow plug control module control line failure. Open/grounded circuit, open/shorted GPCM, failed PCM
But how did you resolve problem? replaced GPCM, found open circuit, short --if so where?-- or replaced with updated harness.
(4C3Z-12B568-AA connector upgrade kit as in picture)???

We began to get an intermittent cruise control failure (big exclamation point in the lower left of the MFD and no green "cruise" when the lever was clicked to "on") in my wife's 2007 2.0T Passat several months ago. During the same period she told me that the car occasionally didn't want to crank...although it always started on a second try. Well, to make a long story short, I had the battery replaced at the 60K service a couple weeks ago and the cruise has worked flawlessly ever since.
I put two and two together just before I took it in for service when the car showed failure of the antiskid system in addition to the cruise following a particularly difficult start. Sure enough, the new battery fixed it. Apparently some of the accessory systems go into a failure mode when they don't get enough current on startup.

I have a 1999 VW Passat that has a problem with its cruise control that two dealers have not been able to solve. Most of the time I cannot engage the cruise control. Other times it will work properly for 30 minutes. On a rare occasion, it will work properly for several hours. It does not seem to matter what type of road I am driving on. On the rare occasions when it works properly, it does not seem to matter if I stop the care and shut off the engine.
It appears is is there are times when it stops working that stopping the care and shutting off the engine is useful when I begin driving again. However, there is nothing consistent about when it fails, and when it again functions. The dealers have said little more than the cruise control is not working. One dealer installed a new break pedal sensor which did not resolve the problem.

We have the basic stock CD / radio model number A518A1 and the XM Radio module with the fit kit installed in the passenger side wheel well in the trunk in a 2010 Corolla S.
Installation of the XM Radio & fit kit was dead simple and we're using the built-in OEM antenna on the roof of the car.
The problem we're having is the dreaded NO SIGNAL message when trying to listen to XM Radio.
I have the Lynx portable XM Radio installed in my car and when both cars are in the driveway, I can get the signal all day long and in her car she gets the NO SIGNAL message.
We've already called XM Radio and had the signal resent to the radio numerous times with no success.
I've gone to our Toyota dealer and the only thing they can recommend is to replace the OEM roof antenna. That part alone is $80 and you have to completely disassemble the headliner to get at the antenna.
Wiring up an actual XM antenna to take the place of the OEM roof antenna? I've searched the web and can't find an adapter plug.

I bought a 2012 Prius C with 17,000mi on it in February this year(2015). The body control module apparently went out about a month after buying the car. The start-up screen would not say "ready" and shortly after turning the power on, the warning came on: stop the car immediately, something wrong with hybrid system, get to nearest dealer, etc.! it also appeared there were suddenly a number of other malfunctions in various systems as various warnings came up, one of which concerned the power steering.

My wife's 08 Camry the other day the gauges all went crazy and the a/c stopped working. But then the problem goes away its intermittent issue.
I took it to the shop they said the ABS control module is bad.

My car was in the shop for 3 1/2 months. When it went in the power trunk worked perfectly. While it was there the comfort battery died and was replaced by the dealer. Since I got it back I've discovered that the trunk no longer functions properly. The trunk control module doesn't seem to remember the coding. Now, based on advice from VW of America, the dealer wants to replace the trunk control module and charge me approximately $750 to do so. I'm left with the question of whether the failure is coincidental and my responsibility or was inadvertently caused by the dealer through some type of voltage surge or something like that?
