I recently installed replacement speakers in the two rear passenger doors in my 2014 Passat. During the installation the power window switches broke. How difficult is the replacement. I have been looking for a video or tutorial on how to potentially fix this myself. The dealership wants 165.00 a door to fix.

The button doesn't click anymore, it wiggles loosely, and the light inside it stopped working. I cannot figure out what is going on with it. How to fix it and what part I need to replace?
View 3 RepliesSo last night I go to pick up my daughter and the doors are unlocked but her door won't open. I try from the outside and no luck. I get in the back on the driver's side and the lock button is on. I open the door with some difficulty and it opens. It's been fine since.
Today I tried to open that window and the window wouldn't open from my console or from the rear passenger side switch.
My sonata 2009 power windows for the rear passenger doors are not working. From the driver's master switch , i can control all 4 power windows with no problem. But if i go to the rear doors (LH and RH) and use the power window switch from there. The windows don't go up or done. There is no sound like the motor is moving. Not very familiar with power windows circuit. But base on the description, by deduction, does it mean the rear power windows switch is broken ? Is there anything that i should check also. Is there any sites that has a diagram on how the power windows are interconnected.
View 6 RepliesI have a 2006 F250 Super, CrewCab 4 dr, 6.0 w/60K. Last month I tried the rear power window and .......nothing.
It tried to open 1/2 inch and then stopped, had to try to power it closed and it moved 1/4 inch and I pushed it the rest. Removed the rear cover behind the seats and I can see the motor and wires attempting to move but it does not move and I am afraid to burn the motor out or push too hard and break a cable or worse.
The track looks really dirty, I use that window maybe once every 2 months.
1. Can I replace the motor myself?
2. Can I put something in the track to clean/lubricate?
3. Should I try to open the window under power and some additional manual pushing?
As you all know there are no speakers in the rear door of a Prius C one. There are also no wires for a speaker. No big deal, I have pulled wire into a door many times. Can't do it! The rubber boot that goes through the door has a wire harness connector that covers the entire boot in the pillar, it actually looks like one piece. How to remove that connector to get access into the door with a speaker wire? I managed to to unhook the harness but in doing so the plastic clip that looks it broke off. Not good.

View 10 RepliesI just finished installing sound deadners and vibration control in my rear doors and when I finished the doors would not unlock...at all. Manually nor automatically. I'm sure the linkage cable was green on top, grey on the bottom. The real problem here is that I can't even get the doors open to look for a fix. This may be a dealer appointment. On the bright side, with just the rear doors complete the sound is already vastly improved over stock.

View 2 RepliesI have a 97 xlt fully loaded. Have been noticing once and a while the battery drained enough not to start. Have been attributing it to my son not turning off the dvd player in the back. I was wrong. Went out this evening to pick up company van, and the truck was dead. When i reached in to unlock the door, i accidently pushed on the power window switch and the window rolled out....key was not in the ignition. It quit when I opened the door.
View 1 RepliesMy 1999 Passat has the common "power window goes up, but won't go down" problem in the right rear door. I followed the advice in this forum and re-inserted the plastic pin. A few weeks later it popped out. I re-inserted it again this time with some glue. It held for a few months before popping out again. I bought a new pin from the dealer but the new pin fits so tight it is impossible to insert it into the hole at the base of the window. Maybe I don't have enough experience jamming things into tight holes, but I suspect there is a special trick needed to insert the pin. I can see why the old pin kept popping out since it wasn't tight enough to keep it secure. How to Insert brand new Plastic Pin in Regulator?
View 6 RepliesWent to start 'er up, key spun forwards, power came on but no start, no click, nada. Turn key back and power stayed on, back forward and no resistance whatsoever power stayed on. Took screwdriver, jumped starter relay and viola away we go. Get home, get cylinder out of hole and the tip is broken off down in the column. BTW, had to disconnect batteries to shut it off. I drilled hole in the tip still in the column, insert screw and no come out. Must need to be turned somehow first I'm thinking.
View 14 RepliesAs the title states, I need to know where that damn switch/sensor that tells the car that the rear hatch is open. Since I got the car, the hatch has been wonky at best when trying to close that hatch via the button. I figured it was going to need a new switch, however I just noticed something today.
I opened the hatch and the rear dome light came on. Pressed the button and it closed no problem. I opened it again a few minutes later and the light never came on. Tried to close it with the button again and it didn't work. And then it all made sense. The sensor that tells the car that the hatch is open is either gummed up or just needs replacing. So where exactly is this thing?
I've had my B6 eastate a week now, and when messing with the stereo setting the bass n treb, i noticed there`s no fade control from front to rear. Ive just sat in the back and there`s no sound at all from the door speakers.... is this normal..??? (19 Tdi) Find it hard to believe on a car like this they would only conect the front....

I have a 2009 corolla XRS with the JBL speaker package and recently received a new stereo GPS unit from eonon, the GM5169.[URL] Their website says its suppose to work with the model car and year, but did not say anything about not working with the JBL speakers.
When I went to install it yesterday the wiring harness did not match up with the set up that was already in the original stereo. The only one that did connect was the controls for the steering wheel.
I have a 2000 VW Passat... I have had the car for a few months and have noticed there is no sound at all coming from the rear speakers; HOWEVER, there is a little sound produced from the rear tweeters when I fade my aftermarket Pioneer deck all the way back to the rear. This problem is consistent on both the left and right.
I have looked a little and found it could be the wiring in the door hinge? But wouldn't that also relinquish power to the tweeters?
I own a Passat-07, i need to change the window lift switch on the driver's door. The black color on it has fall of.
My question is how to remove the cover ( so i change the switch. Can't see any screws or clips.
Its strange but since the other day the rear right window comes down sporadically when I push the window button on the driver console. When it does come down I am able to get it back up but when it closes all the way thats when it doesn't want to come back down. There is a tree sap problem where I live that gets all over the car. I'm wondering if the sap particles are having an effect on the ability to lower the window. When the window is stuck all the way up I can hear the motor in the door.
View 5 RepliesI recently picked up and installed an OEM head unit for my 04 F350 XL SC/SB. This truck came with a basic AM/FM head unit and 2 front door speakers. Im not looking to do anything crazy, but now that I have a better head unit than just the AM/FM one I would like to wire in 2 more speakers in the rear doors. The rear doors already have the spots to install speakers, but I am assuming I will have to run wiring to the new head unit.
Will I have to find another plug to go from the new rear speakers to the head unit or is the single plug that is now running the radio have extra spots to accept 2 more speakers? This is the stock head unit. This is the better stock head unit
