I am in need of replacing the passenger side Front Headlight assembly. I was wondering, how to assemble it outside of a repair shop. I was also looking to possibly get the part number so I can make sure I am purchasing the correct product for my 2012 VW Passat SE.
View 8 RepliesPassenger side parking lamp burned out in the headlight assembly. Have tried to pull rubber boot off the back of lamp assemply but I can't get my hand back in their to reach the parking lamp. If I have to pull the headlight assembly out from the car.
View 3 RepliesMy daughter backed out of our garage and clipped the passenger side mirror assembly on our brand new 2017 Santa Fe. The casing on the assembly is broken where it hit our garage door track, but the camera, etc. works fine. I was quoted over 900 bucks to replace this part - 87620 4Z500 - and I'm assuming that is a quote for ALL of the parts of that assembly (guts and all). Everything works, and we'd just like to purchase the plastic casing, have it color matched and DIY. Is there anyway to do that?
View 2 RepliesMy headlights suffered from the dreaded condensation problem. I brought them to Lexus after getting the warranty enhancement paperwork and had them replaced. Shortly after the passenger side wheel cover was ripped off after getting caught on some ice during a storm. It was very shortly after that that condensation begin appearing in my passenger side headlight.
At that point I was unaware that the wheel well cover had been ripped off. I brought it back to Lexus to have it looked at since I only had the headlight replaced a few weeks before. I was told it would be at a cost of $2,500 to replace with an additional $400 for the wheel well cover. Needless to say, I did not have the work done that day. While I was waiting them for them to finish the paperwork I bought the wheel well cover for $50 online but since then I've had difficulty locating the headlight.
I brought it to my mechanic and he was unable to find the headlight as well. I have a 2009 rx350 with HID AFS headlights. I have looked on ebay, Amazon and just through the internet to see what I could find but I'm finding only halogen headlights. Most of what I'm seeing on eBay are for non-adaptive lights that are damaged.
I'm trying to replace my dads 2007 Camry XLE japan built headlight assembly because his are insanely oxidized. Besides OEM's and CAPA's, what else are there? Any good aftermarket headlight assembly and achieve great results?

how to replace my head light, on the passenger side.
I just replaced (or almost replaced) the bulb on the passenger side of my 2008 prius. It is a HID bulb. I got the old one out, the new one in and connected and verified it is working. Now trying to get the cover back on that provides the weather proofing and unless im wrong... the braided wire that connects to the back of the bulb is in the way. It looks like it has to go thru the opening that the cover is supposed to seal... Imagine a rope hanging over the edge of a bucket you are trying to put a cover on... Am i wrong here? did I miss something?
View 1 RepliesEncountered a problem with the headlights. I had to replace my driver side headlight. It worked great for a few weeks until the low beam just died out. It seemed as if the connector that holds the bulb got fried. I took it to the dealership and they replaced it for free. I believe they changed the socket inside the headlight piece because it was burnt. It worked great for two weeks until it just started acting up again. If I try to nudge the socket that holds the bulb i can get it back on, but once I let go it just dies out again. What can cause this? I even switched the bulbs and bulb holders between the two headlights. It worked briefly but once I hit a large bump it moved around and just died again. Now I cant even get it to click back in place. It only lights up if I shake the socket around but doesn't stay lit without support.

View 3 RepliesI have a 2007 VW Passat Wolfsburg Edition. The passenger side headlight went out today. This is my first VW, but I've never had a headlight go out this early. A few questions:
1) Is this normal?
2) How much is a new bulb?
3) Can I replace it myself or should I go to the dealer?
My passenger side headlight just went out. I have the HID with AFS. I can't seem to get the back piece out due to the washer being in the way.
View 1 RepliesTwo months ago I walked out to my car as it was remote started and realized the driver side headlight was out. With a quick tap to the lens it was fixed with no further problems to date. As of yesterday my passenger side headlight and side marker went out. The first thing I tried was the tap method which only brought the sidemarker back to life. Could it be the bulb or a worse problem. I am not sure if its just the bulb seeing that the side marker is going off and on.
View 2 RepliesI dropped off my 2012 Passat to the dealer this morning because the driver's DRL was out and the passenger headlight was out. Normally I'd change bulbs myself and be on my way but since this is new and under warranty, I let them do the work.
Anyway, fixed the DRL (bad bulb). But the passenger headlight assembly needs replacing. Seems I have fallen victim to a melted housing causing a failure. I've read about the situation somewhere here on the forums and suspected it might be the case. So VW is 2-3 days out on getting a new part and I'm in a loaner for the time being.
I'm guessing this happens a lot with this part. I wonder if VW will issue a recall in the future.
Well my headlining on my passenger side died, I was wondering how hard it is to replace the light and also I was thinking about getting a set of the lights with the leds in them, like the audi but are there any that you dont have to rewire the switch to get them to work.
View 8 RepliesMy 2006 Passat has moisture in the passenger side headlight. Not sure how it got there, or how to get rid of it. The mechanic at the dealership said to drill a hole in the bottom of the light (but that sounds like a BAD idea).
How I can remove the moisture from this without replacing the entire headlight housing? I thought that maybe I could remove the bulb and use a hair dryer on low to try to evaporate the moisture.
My passenger side headlight(low beam) isn't turning on. Replaced the bulb. The light flickers and dies out.
