Recently I went out to start the car with the key I typically use, and when I pressed the Start button I got the message "Key Not In Range." The key will lock / unlock the car, but simply won't start it. I've been having to use my spare / second key in the meantime. I haven't had a single problem with the car since I bought it Sept 2012.
View 6 RepliesYesterday after coming to a stop and pressing the start/stop button, the vehicle wouldn't turn off. Eventually I got it to turn off (by pressing the button).
After I got it to turn off, I pressed the start button and it does not turn on. I get a message saying "Check VSC" . 1 click from under the hood and that's it. All power is there. Radio/AC/etc all work. Not brand new, but the battery is fully charged.
Trying to diagnose and fix the issue myself before calling for a flatbed to come and pick it up.
I dont think its the starter since I've had issues turning it off. What it might be? Its an '07 with 65k miles.
Suddenly the doors are not responding to touching to open or close and the engine is not starting. Giving the message that the key is not in range. I checked both keys and same situation also changed the batteries in both keys and same situation. Suddenly it worked by itself and suddenly it went bad again. I checked the error log of the car i am getting 9-Cent. Elect. -- Status: Malfunction 0010 however in the detailed log no faults found.
View 11 RepliesFan controls I, II, III, IV are not working. A/C not working when button is pressed. I checked the fuses on the driver's side with a test light, but none seem to be blown. What else i can check. but i notice that when the car is moving, i feel air from the vents as if the vent was selected. but as of blowing, no forced air coming out.
View 7 RepliesLast Saturday it worked because i left all 4 windows down while driving. On Sunday I drove in the rain, so all my windows were up. The next day on a clear day I put my windows down and noticed the left rear window won't go down but I can hear the normal 'shoosh' sound like the motor works but it won't slide down. I put my hand against the window to push down and it went down (because I had already push the button down so it allowed the window to be opened) When I pushed the button up to go up, it goes up.
To make sure my window can't be slided down with hand by carjackers, I first tried by using my hand to slide down, it won't go down. So it seems like the motor works. When I pressed the bottom to go up, it goes up but it won't go down when pressed down.
Car year is 1999....
I cant start the sonata 2011 unless I keep the start button pressed for 10+ seconds. It just doesn't start anymore by just pressing the brake and hitting start button once. I figured before I replaced the brake light switch, is that's what causing this problem?
View 9 RepliesI have a gen2 2007 prius (right hand drive). Problem I am having is [INTERMITTENT]when pressing the ignition button to turn off the car. When I press the button the system completely shuts down instantly and rather roughly and nothing is active (the Key is still in). I then remove the key and the system starts up! I then press the button to stop the system, put the key back in and restart it. It then works fine - until the next time. Clock resets itself as does the climate controls. Not sure what to make of this. I have just recently replaced the 12v battery in the boot.
PS. Forgot to mention that when the system goes dead, if I fold down back seat and thump the floor panel above the battery under the seat the system goes on?? Any clues. Will take it to mechanic as soon as he gets back from holiday!
I can not start the car by pressing the Start / Stop button. The display shows the message "Key Non found". Remote control key with normally opens and closes the car but the car itself does not open the approach to it. I have two keys and the two are the same.

I have a 2004 V8 and the automatic leveling feature seems to be working correctly. If I stand in front of the vehicle, it appears that the headlights level themselves when the ignition is turned on.
I have noticed a couple times while driving at night that the headlights did not appear to be shinning down the road as far as they have been during other trips, so I'm thinking the problems could be related.
What is wrong with my Passat: once a week my car fails to start. When clutch is pressed and ignition key is turned I can hear relay under dash is clicking and nothing happening. It does not sound to me as starter (I hope). After a few seconds and few attempts car starts normally. I checked which relay is clicking and it was Relay # 53 (starting interlock relay), which linked to a clutch switch. Replaced this relay and after a week problem repeated.

View 4 RepliesI have both a 2010 Prius and a new v and have just noticed that if you press the 'Econ' button once, the little light goes on in the dashboard. If you press it again, the little light goes off. The same occurs with the 'pwr' button.

View 7 RepliesThe truck sat since 2002 or so. Hasn't ran since, So my brother and me towed it home and I started working on it. I replace the tailgate, Replaced the lights, Did a oil change, Dropped the gas tank out and ran a gallon of gas and seafoam through it. Then I was driving it the other day and I decided to play the radio so I pressed the power button and I heard a pop noise. Like not a fuse pop noise. This happens every time you turn it on/change the volume. Its coming from the speakers and the louder the volume the louder the popping is. Is the radio just bad? Its a funny square shape and I haven't ever seen a radio that would fit this. I checked all the fuses and I found nothing.
View 8 RepliesI have a 05 V8. I have had in it 3 times in the last month for a bad headlight which was finally fixed now this error message popped up yesterday.
By the right I will not be taking my VW back to the dealer...
It is a fairly new vehicle, Touareg SN 42xxx. It has two problems, which might be inter-related, both of which have defied all the repair attempts of a very competent and concerned dealership.
First problem: The warning message "Headlight Range Control" keeps on appearing. Much work has been done to try and fix this: Alignment of lights checked, suspension level sensors checked, vehicle inspected for damaged wires, etc. Later on in the process, both headlight assemblies and the instrument cluster were replaced. The message still appears.
Second problem: This is really minor, I only mention it because it might be related to the first problem. The instrument cluster trip computer (MFA) will not store accumulated mileage over a series of trips. In other words, if the car is stopped and started a few times, the trip computer will zero out.
I know that's a normal msg, but what has me thinking is the fact I've had my truck just over 2 weeks and it only has 1350 miles on it. My understanding is that a tank of DEF should last at least 5000 miles (service interval), which means either my delivery prep guys overlooked filling it or it using way more DEF than it should.

View 2 RepliesMy wife's 07 santa fe has started to develop an issue with the fuel door not always opening when the button is pressed. I haven't had to use the manual release yet but sometimes you have to hit the button 5-10 times before you hear the click and it opens. The vehicle just went off warranty (of course!) and since the nearest Hyundai dealer is 2 1/2 hours away it would be nice to work on it myself.
