I tried changing the settings but all I could get done was F to C and the trip number to KPH.
The digital speed display would be real useful here as the cops are sticklers in the city about the speed limit.
Will the VAG cable do it? I'm still trying to dig it up but most of our stuff is still in boxes.
My wife likes to use the digital speed display on the dash, and someone I made it disappear. Avg. speed is there but real time speed is not. How do I get it back?

I have a 1997 Sedan Deville with a digital dash. Recently while driving the center portion of the dash went completely dark and has not come back on. The left portion that displays the AVG/EST MPG works as does the right side portion that displays the Climate Control temp and the outside temp. Another sympton is that the turnsignals physically work but the interior right and left indicators do not illuminate when the signals are activated. Also when switching from low to high beam the hight beam (blue) indicator does not come on in the center display, nor does the information bar at the bottom of the display. Probably just a coincidence, but this seemed to occur shortly after turing on the windshield wipers. There has been no mechanical or electrical work done on the car recently. I found a 10Amp fuse located in the trunk that the manual identifies as a link to this display, but it checked ok.

Quick condition, is there a way to permanently display the digital clock somewhere on the nav screen or is the analog clock the only option? Not a big deal, but prefer digital clocks.
The digital display in the cluster, sometimes it works perfectly fine and its clearly legible and bright as day. Most other time however, the lighting or whatever in it gets really dim and the text gets really dark and hard to read. I usually have to cup my hands over the cluster to get it really dark and then i can see what it says. Like i said though, sometimes it could be broad daylight and its really bright and easy to see, but most of the time its not.

View 6 RepliesNoticed a digital "shadow" to the electronic speedometer display? Below is a picture of what I'm seeing. It's not a viewpoint or reflection that goes away from a different angle. It's like there is an alignment issue or something.. I know the display image is a projection from below, to create a distant focal point. But I see this image shadow.

My 99 V6 with Tip just started to malfunction this past weekend. By malfunction, I mean when I shift over into Tip mode, the display remains on automatic and even shifting up and down will not change the tranny gear.
I was driving with the cruise on and shifted into Tip mode to slow down for a toll booth ( slow to 25 and not stop all the way). When I got through the booth, I hit resume on the cruise forgetting I had shifted into tip and the car revved back up to 65 mph in 3rd gear for about 5 seconds ( I had the stereo cranking and couldn't hear the engine)before I realized what I had done.
I tried to upshift in Tip but it wouldn't let me so I had to go back to full auto setting where it works fine.
Is it possible to burn out a fuse or circuit of some kind by doing a dipshizit maneuver like that? The car runs great otherwise and still is getting low to mid 20's mpg in spite of the ethanol crap.
BTW, just had the computer reflashed last week after putting a new battery in because the Throttle Body was not working properly.
I have a 1989 cavalier with a digital dash, and I was wondering what was involved or can it even be done to replace it with a regular one. I can't stand the digital dash.

View 3 RepliesI have a 2007 Passat Wolfsburg. It has less than 3,000 miles on it. The clock keeps jumping forward one hour all by itself. If I don't touch it eventually after a few starts it will correct itself and go back an hour. The minutes never change. I called the dealer and they said they never heard of this, but I could bring it in. What was the cause?

I find it very distracting to drive with the NAV on when I don't need it, but it's a pain to always have to go through the menus to turn it off every time I drive. On our old Prius, the display would simply change back to the map view after ~5-10 seconds. The new car does not seem to do this. No luck searching the manuals or the Internet. Is it possible?
Can change the order of the "Source" on the display? I very rarely use AM. I have to either press the arrow or view all options to see the "BT" option. I would like FM, BT, and Ipod to be the first options I see, when pressing the Source option.

View 7 RepliesStarted the car on Saturday and drove about 2 miles. Chime came on and display read something like "check gas cap" or "tighten gas cap". Went off about 10 seconds later and never came on again. Cap was tight. Might weather have something to do with this? Beastly hot that day (98) and tank was half full. Never saw that display before.
View 1 RepliesI tried to find this by searching, because I know it has been addressed before, but I just can't find the answer. In the Multi Function Display, there are 2 modes. They are indicated in the upper right hand corner of the display screen, as a small "1" and "2". I am on "2" now and want to get back to "1". I can't for the life of me remember how it's done. If you know the reason for these modes as well I would really like to know.
