I took the car in for 10,000 service. Drove it home and discovered I lost headlights, taillights and instrument lights. Checked interior driver side fuse box and all are good.
View 1 RepliesMy driver side headlight and tail lights are not working. The brake lights and turn signals still work. I checked all of the fuses and light bulbs nothing is blown. It did rain yesterday and it looks like some moisture got into the driver side headlight, not like a pool of water just some condensation on the lens.
View 7 RepliesTail and dash lights would go out unexpectedly, so I would turn light switch off and then back on and they would work. After about a week they stopped working all together...I checked all fuses related to the lights and dash as well as bulbs.

a) engine coolant temperature gauge
b) fuel gauge
c) outside temperature digital display
What could be happening here. Does not look like a fuse issue...
My tail lights parking lights and dash board lights stop working my turning signals work my brake lights work and my headlights work fine I checked all fuses are good I even switched out the headlight switch with a new one and nothing. What can this problem be?
View 14 RepliesSo I noticed a few days ago when driving the turbo around that the temperature gauge fluctuates... ALOT. it will warm up to full operating temp, then when driving will go way down, almost to the cold line again and SLOWLY rise up, and when I mean slowly, I mean it takes about an hour or so to get there.
Well today, I changed the oil, there were about 2 qts in there but the car was about 2k overdue. MY BAD! So upon driving around seattle/bellevue/redmond today, noticed the gauge doing the same thing, and I am stumped, IDK why it would be doing this, the car doesn't overheat or anything.
Also, the girlfriend said that when she was driving the car, in the warmer weather, even while moving the temp gauge read almost hot, and the car was telling her to shut it off etc... I seriously am at a lose here.
The other night we noticed the TAIL light was out, but the brake light still worked. Last night we were out with some friends, they said that the TAIL AND BRAKE lights were not working, but ONLY on the drivers side, the passenger side worked as it should, we also noticed that when we hit the brakes, the front drivers corner light comes on and stays on until we take our foot off the brake.
The instrument panel lights (dash lights for the gauges, temperature control settings, etc) have been intermittently going out on 2011 Santa Fe V6 Ltd, instead of lighting up when the headlights are on. We can see still the mileage display, the navigation, the clock and the climate control screens, however. Those light just fine, its just the instrument panel that is the problem.
Tonight, we noticed that the tail lights were also out. We think they have been intermittently going with the dash lights at the same time. The brake lights are working fine though.
The problem with the instrumental panel lights started a few weeks ago (we bought the SUV brand new in Jan 2011). When we took the vehicle to have the problem fixed, everything was working fine and they could not replicate the problem or figure out what was causing it. This evening the lights went out again. After we parked the SUV and had dinner, I went back out to it and the lights were working again.
What is causing the problem and how to fix it? Seems like this should be an issue covered by the warranty, but with the problem being intermittent, we can't be sure it will show up when we take the SUV in to the dealer.
I recently purchased my first car/jetta. When i switch the knob to turn on the instrument lights on my 2000 jetta the headlights don't come on. But when i turn the knob off the auto headlights turn on. Any insight on this? when i first got the car everything was working fine. It only started to happen after I replaced the radiator.
View 6 Replies2006 Chrysler 300 Limited. Very strange issue here. If the ignition key is turned on, and the headlight switch in ANY position (auto, off, parking, or on) the headlights and fog lights turn off and on on their own! No rhyme or reason to it. At first if the headlight switch was in the "auto" position, it wouldn't give me a problem. Now I can't shut the headlights off, the foglights off, or "flick" the high beams on by pulling the "multi-function" switch back. Long story short, i think the actual headlight switch might be faulty, but the multi-function switch not making the headlights do anything is what is making me second guess this issue. Where else I should look? Fuses are all fine.
View 15 RepliesI just bought a 97 Dodge Ram 1500. The Tail lights work when I just have running lights on, but don't work when I pull the light switch out far enough for the headlights to come on. Also, and probably related, the dashboard and radio lights don't work at all. I replaced the switch assembly already and that didn't fix the problem (i didn't use the supplied wiring though, only the switch). The previous owner used it to pull his boat so the rear end may have been backed into the water. The brake and reverse lights.
View 3 RepliesI've got a 2005 Honda CRV that I love everything about except one thing that really annoys and scares me.
The headlights and instrument lights "twinkle" or shimmer. Like they pulsate in intensity bright and dim 2- 4 times per second.
I've read threads in some forums and have heard of many other people experiencing the same problem but no solid solutions.
I've heard, low battery, bad battery connection, loose ground somewhere, loose alternator belt or faulty alternator, short in the wiring harness, or replace the dashboard computer.
I've checked many of these things but to no avail.
One of my interior bulbs had blown and all of the others was still working ! I replacement the blown bulb and now none of the work!!
I've had a look thought the manual and cannot find a fuse for this, how to sort this.
1998 Honda CRV ... Had my engine repaired....Everything seems to work but discovered my headlights and taillights won't turn on. The signal lights work fine.
The mechanic says the lights are not burnt out ... so the light switch must be damaged. He did not mention any fuses or other causes. So I buy another light switch (the light switch/signal light combination stick on left side of the steering column) and install it but they still don't work. It seems really unlikely that all 4 fuses (2 x each head lights + 2 x each taillights) would blow all at the same time.
What could be causing this? It seems really simple like they forgot to connect some wiring harness somewhere but the mechanic didn't mention it the first time I took it in for the problem.
2013 SE 2.4 ... I am away from my car. Should be home Tues afternoon. When I left 7 days ago at 6am, I had no headlights. The light on the dash was on and all the other tail lights worked. Before I had to leave I quickly looked for the headlight fuse(s). Where to find it(them)? I may have to drive home after dark and will need headlights.
View 10 Replies1999 Buick Regal. Instrument panel lights will not come on when we turn on the headlights. The dimmer knob is turned correctly. I've checked all the appropriate fuses (I think). The radio display is also affected. The time display almost completely dims out. This even happens when the headlights come on automatically at dusk.
View 3 RepliesThis is for my gf's 2010 sonata. The instrument cluster stopped working but then after a couple days it started again. Once again it stopped working. This time I checked the fuse and it was fine, there was power going to it. I was able to get it to start working again by disconnecting the battery. I hate electrical shorts. I have done some research but haven't come up with anything other than re-seat the cluster or replace it. I plan on doing that the next time it stops working. I'm thinking it might have something to do with the ignition, but i really don't know.
Engine codes are P0011/P0014/P0462
The P0011/P0014 are, i think, the oil control valve. I ordered that.
The P0462 code has to do with low voltage to the fuel level sensor, but the gas gauge has worked fine, well other than when none of the gauges work. Still I don't think it relates to cluster problem.
The last week or so i been having problems when I go to start my car. The car wont turn over unless the battery is boosted. Seems pretty straight forward I know, DEAD BATTERY..but I have tried 2 batteries, one I know for sure is good. And again same things. Recently my interior lights stopped working. I read that is could be the courtesy control module, could this also be causing the battery to be drained? It only happens over night, when I go to school and its parked for 7-8 hours its fine, but over night it dies.

What the deal with that and how I can fix it. I just switched the bulbs today but they were working but just stopped.
View 3 RepliesThe instrument cluster in my 2000 Silverado 1500 recently stopped working. All the gauges are flush to the left, except for the oil and battery which stay about in the middle. I ordered a different cluster online and went to install it today, finding that it still doesnt work. Except in this one everything aside from battery and oil are flush to the right. What to try next or am I going to need to take it in?
