Fuel line after the fuel filter going to the engine has sprung a leak...
Either way fuel line part number 561-130-307 is leaking wanted to give another heads up to people who are experiencing diesel smell inside the cabin...
I'm dripping fuel on top of the engine at the fuel filter . Where the line ties into the filter canister , there is a small plate that's attached with small Allen screws its dripping between this plate and the canister .... I assume there is a gasket/oring that is causing it ...... What is the part number or correct description so I can go to ford dealer and get one.

View 5 Replies (E350 van)... I smelled diesel fuel inside the van tonight and used my flashlight to investigate the leak. The cover around the blue spring is damp.
Before I remove every again to gain access to the filter housing to fix the leak, what I am may encounter. Seems like a good time to do the blue spring upgrade. Can I access the egr valve to inspect and clean?
What are the possible areas to check for the leak? Sometimes finding little problems leads to finding big problems. When my FICM went out I discovered the battery terminal clamp was broke.
I have a very slow fuel drip off the housing for the fuel filter on the engine. Can't see where it's coming from. It started sometime after I changed the filter a couple of months ago.
View 5 RepliesI've got a leak that appears to be coming from the secondary fuel filter housing (the one in the engine compartment)... It's not coming from the filter, but from the side, where there are 4 allen bolts that attach a fitting to the side of the housing...Can I change out the gasket for that piece? I've already tightened the bolts, but the leak persists.

Tonight, 17 degrees out I have fuel in the valley and it appears as if the back of the drain valve is wet.
A fuel bowl rebuild is on the short list. Is this typical, the cold weather brings the issue to light?
With an AD2 and no HFCM, need to have a part number for just the top of engine filter? All I can find (Motorcraft, AMSOIL, Racor) are the dual filter kits.
View 4 RepliesI have a 77 f-250 with a 460 engine and a 4bbl Motorcraft carb and its leaking a substantial amount of fuel out of the newly replaced filter that is attached to the carburetor. The fitting is tight and I even tried buying some small gaskets to seat it, but that didn't work either.
View 1 RepliesI changed my fuel filters a couple weeks ago. When I opened the hood the other day i noticed a kinda hissing or sucking sound coming from the engine mounted fuel filter. I've watched epics video a couple time and think his made the same sound but not sure. I am just paranoid with all the hpfp problems. It runs fine and had no long starts or hesitation at all. Lemme know if you all have the same thing. I just can't remember if it sounded like that before. I have done the air purge properly and several times since changing the filters. I notice the sound while doing the air purge procedure with engine off and key on.
View 3 RepliesR32 turbo had new forged internals to get rid of old set up l & changed tune 4" maf open filter I am now getting smell of fuel inside car only when I am stationary at junctions etc.
BTW walbro in line fuel pump.. vagom no faults .. + did not get this before with stock airbox with turbo set up..
99 passat 1.8T... Just started yesterday, may be due to the cold weather now, but it has a strong fuel smell upon cold start... Under the hood, the smell seems to be coming from near the air box... Anything there that could be leaking?

View 14 RepliesAs some may remember, I had a new engine put into my B6 about 2 weeks ago. Everything had been great since, no rattles, squeaks, or check engine lights, until tonight.
About half an hour after I get home from work, my wife heads out to a meeting. She opens the door to the garage and is about knocked over with the smell of fresh gas. NOT GOOD.
I tell her to get in her car and go, I grab the flashlight and pop the hood on the B6. Low and behold, the middle gas line of the 3 lines on the front right of the engine had come completely off! It was leaking gas everywhere and directly on to the alternator. On closer inspection, I notice that the tech. when he put in the new engine, he NEVER PUT THE 3 HOSE CLAMPS ON THE GAS LINES!
They were still on the hoses, just backed off from the ends a couple of inches. Needless to say I fixed the situation, but the Service Manager will be getting a call in the morning. This could have been a very very bad situation. I didn't smell any gas on the way home. I hate to think what could have happened.
My loaner 2014, 2.5 developed a massive fuel leak when trying to start it yesterday, and it did not start.
I had just done a short 1-mile trip and parked for 2 hrs, came out to start it and it turned over fine with no start, tried it again and smelled raw gas. Thought it flooded so I let it sit for 5 min and tried again, same result. Popped the hood and saw fuel on passenger side frame area and it was dripping a lot when I looked under it.
The car had 5400 miles on it and I had just put 1000 of those on over the week and the car was flawless. Dealer towed it and I am in another loaner while they finish my TDI. I could not see the cause and I wasn't going to trouble shoot as it was a loaner. The 2.5 has been bullet proof overall and this seemed more like a fuel line popped and not an engine issue.
Just wanted to throw an FYI out in case you get a no start and smell gas from an otherwise flawless engine. Nothing dramatic happened in this case as the engine was cold, but if happened while driving it had great potential for fire. Also, would hate to have this happen in my garage in the morning.
If I can get more details from the dealer I will post an update. This would clearly be a recall if they find defective design in failed part. I would not cry wolf on this yet, just a concern...again this car had been on the road for 5 months and 5400 miles.
Is it fair to assume that my filter is clogged when I turn over the engine and fuel does NOT come out of the filter with the uphill line disconnected. I was able to disconnect the rear line from filter and fuel DID pump out of line when I cranked it over. Been dealing with a crank no start, I'm in the process of trying to test my CPS properly but not sure if I'm testing it right.

I had my fuel filters changed at the dealership today on my '15, and then I bought fuel and headed home (70 miles). About half way home I got a "Low Fuel Pressure" message and a little while after that "Reduced Engine Power" along with the check engine light.
I pulled over to see if they did something like leave the drain open, thinking it might be sucking air. Of course it was dark and I could not see anything. However I did hear a buzzing sound and could feel a vibration when I touched the fuel line going into the top of engine filter.
While it is possible I got bad fuel, I suspect they did something wrong installing the filters. Even after cycling the fuel pump multiple times they had a hard time getting it started afterwards; I think they finally disconnected the top fuel line to bleed the air out.
I continued home and made it, but not sure what to do now; its 70 miles back to the dealer.
What is the most likely problem? Improper fuel filter installation or bad fuel?
Should I pull the filters in the morning see if there is something obvious like an out-of-place gasket? If so, top or bottom filter?
Is this a tow truck affair or should I drive 70 miles back to the dealer?
What the heck is the buzzing sound?
I have a 1998 Passat turbo that suddenly started leaking oil from the oil filter adapter. I think it is a bad gasket. Could this mean my pressure switch is bad? What caused this problem?
View 1 Repliesno change, changed stand pipe and dummy plug on driver side, no change and guess what? Now I am stuck on the side of the road waiting to give my last $100 to a tow truck! Engine is hydrolocked, fuel pressure is low, starts off at around 20 and works up to 54 with key on engine off, and that is as much as I know from the side of the road with out my AE. Blew white smoke also. Smelled of unburnt diesel. I think it's linked to my rough running issue. Maybe a bad injector? But every time I did the click test they all passed. Idk, I'm gonna remove the glow plugs and see which hole is loaded and with what. . .
