View 2 RepliesI was thinking fuse but left, right and "ok" work perfectly. leaves my MFD stuck ...
View 8 RepliesThe controls on my steering wheel stopped working. Last Saturday I brought car into dealer for an oil change and they did a recall on the ECM module. I wonder if this is a coincidence or if the programming messed up the wheel.
View 2 RepliesLast night I filled up my gas tank and got back in the car, started it up and the top section of the computer screen on the dash that displays the radio information/volume, etc was off. The steering wheel volume controls no longer work either. However, the cruise control on the other side works as well as the rest of the computer to the left of the speedometer. The radio also works just fine as well. What the problem is? Is it something that I could have somehow turned off and can turn right back on (hopefully)?
View 7 RepliesI got a 2014 Passat 1.8T Wolfsburg Edition, it came with the RCD 310. The only thing that works is the radio but only with the steering wheel controls. Is this a common issue for this radio? Is there a way to reset or should I start looking for a replacement?
RCD 310
-Radio only works with steering wheel controls
-None of the radio bottons work when pressed.
I'm also getting an airbag fault which I'm guessing may be coming from the steering wheel sensor since nothing else is working on the steering wheel. Maybe a wiring harness or something?
View 2 RepliesDiscovered cruise control was dead. Then discovered radio controls and horn dead. Removed fuses for horn and radio and replaced. Result is dead radio + horn, controls, cruise. Is the wheel dead?
View 3 RepliesI own an '07 Wolfsburg with steering wheel controls. Sometimes they work, sometimes they don't. When I'm in the car are they're not working, they eventually activate on and stay on.
View 1 RepliesOn my 2012 Tiguan SEL w/premium nav, the left-right arrow buttons on the left side of the steering wheel (for changing track/preset) have never worked. I just recently discovered by accident that they DO work when the car first turns on, but as soon as the navigation system finishing booting up a few seconds later, they stop responding.
I asked them to look at it at my 10K tuneup, and they had no idea and had to "call Detroit", with no answer hours later...I'd rather not have to leave the car with them if I can avoid it, since we're a one-car family. Is it fixable by me?
I have a 2003 Passat W8 with the Monsoon system and today I had a new problem pop up with it. On my way to work this morning the steering wheel volume and tuning controls stopped working. I also noticed that the Heads up display in the center of the dash is now blank...it used to show the CD number and track number. I can't seem to find any blown fuses in the fusebox.. I don't have the removal tools but I was going to check behind the radio to see if there might be another fuse there...
View 3 RepliesThe steering wheel controls, horn and cruise control recently died in our '08 wagon. The fact that they went out suddenly and simultaneously suggests that they might be tied to a fuse. I looked around the intarwebs via google and saw some references to a problem with HomeLink wiring in the sunvisor blowing "fuse 5" on older models, but I'm unsure if something like this is even valid for the B6.
View 9 RepliesFan controls I, II, III, IV are not working. A/C not working when button is pressed. I checked the fuses on the driver's side with a test light, but none seem to be blown. What else i can check. but i notice that when the car is moving, i feel air from the vents as if the vent was selected. but as of blowing, no forced air coming out.
View 7 RepliesTrying setting up new controls in the steering wheel of a Prius? I have the "four" package so there's a blank spot on the right side where the radar cruise and lane assist controls would be, and I would kill to have the three driving mode buttons right there for easy switching while driving around town. Is that sort of thing even technically possible?
View 7 RepliesI'm looking to take off my steering wheel controls to wrap them. Do I just rip the horn cover off or pop them off? I'm worried about deploying air bags or are those thoughts unfounded?
View 2 RepliesThe lights on the steering wheel controls are too dim? I find it hard to see them at night.
Any mod that brightens them up a bit (and creates a cooler look at the same time)???
Most will agree it would be nice if the steering wheel controls were brighter. There has to be a tech out there that knows where the light source comes from. ( Its not magic.) If its a bulb, can a brighter one be installed??
View 8 RepliesMy 07 Prius has developed a problem and i would like to get opinions about whether the problem could've been caused by the body work I had done a week before.
i want to know if i should take it back to the body shop and ask them to check it, or, if it's not likely to have been caused by the body work, then i'll just take it to the Toyota agency. If it wasn't the body shop, I am hoping to have it covered by the Prius Chat platinum warranty.
When presenting this to the body shop or the Toyota agency, i would like to be as informed as possible about what the possibilities are.
The problem is that some of the steering wheel controls are not working. Some of the buttons on the right side of the steering wheel are not responding. The Info button does not work, and the climate related buttons on the bottom get no response. The Map button and all the bluetooth phone buttons do work.
At first, there was a delayed response when using the Info button. The next day, it stopped responding at all.
I noticed last night while driving home that the steering wheel controls are not lighting up. I've only had the car for about 2 weeks.
View 5 RepliesIs there a way(Maybe through VAG-COM) To change the steering wheel radio controls so that they switch through the radio presets instead of just scanning up or down the frequency's?
View 9 RepliesMy steering wheel controls stopped working over night (horn also). When i went out this morning i was not able to get into the car using my key fob.
I hooked up my vag-com and got 2 codes.
00955 - Key 1
09-10 - Adaptation Limit Surpassed - Intermittent
00956 - Key 2
09-00 - Adaptation Limit Surpassed
My key is working again, but my horn and volume controls...ext do not work.
I'm still getting use to the center dash design. When I look at my steering wheel at night the buttons are barely lit. I'm assuming there is no way to make them brighter? Brightness control does not seem to affect the steering wheel.
