Passat (B7) :: Crackling Sounds Coming From Dashboard

Random crackling sounds coming from inside the dashboard? After hitting 5k miles a few weeks ago, and while driving on a highway one day, this loud crackling sound started inside the dashboard. At first I thought it was the windshield separating itself from the car. It's loud, lasts a few seconds and you can hear it coming from the length of the dashboard.
I thought it could be the vents, but it crackles no matter what condition I'm driving in. It just randomly crackles if I'm driving fast or slow, on the highway or city streets, if the AC is on or off. It evens crackles when the car is stopped at a red light.

I have a 2014 VW Passat TSI 1.8, had it for about a year and have a little over 11k on it. Love the car, and have done a few mods to it. I am interested in replacing my standard rear view mirror with the auto dim. Is it even possible? I do not know if I have to plugs that I would correct my auto dim to because of my standard mirror. I do have the SOS as well, so I am not sure if that's all connected.
I also have a strange crackling noise that sounds like its coming from the upper trim of where the steering wheel is at. When I hols it down tight it seems to go away. It only happens when the car is warm.

My wife has been complaining of sounds that are almost musical in nature coming from the dashboard area of the car. She said the sounds occur periodically and are a Duh-Duh-Duh type of sound that is almost musical. She says she can't tell exactly where the sound is coming from. It is almost like some kind if warning sound and just last occurred as she pulling into our driveway a few minutes ago. She said the MPG box in the center was pulsing in sequence with the sounds.
I have never had this happen to me to me. Taking this too a dealer would, most likely be futile, unless the problem could be replicated while at the dealer. She listens to Satellite Radio and I do not. Could this be of any consideration?

2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee, Limited--4.7 V8: when the car is turned off--there are sounds coming from the dash--passenger's side--like escaping air--like a whoopee cushion--maybe for one minute. Is this the AC system---or air bag or ???

I am experiencing yet another problem with my Dynaudio sound system. The display for the radio works, but there is absolutely no sounds coming from the radio. It would be exactly like pushing mute (but in this case mute isn't activated).

I have a 2008 Camry LE, I always hear a sound like the sound that comes from an Engine Pinging when you force it (Call it a metallic key chain noise or little crackling noise).The noise is coming mainly when I run over 80 kms/hr. It is not from the Engine I put the car in N and the noise kept coming My Engine has also been repaired by Toyota from the Oil issue, I thought first it is from the Engine. Turned left or right does not seem to make a difference. I am confused sometimes I hear it from the rear sometimes I hear it from the front depending on where I am sitting in the car when running at this speed, but to me most probably I hear it from the rear, it has been like this for over a year, took it to Toyota and they could not identify the source of the noise, they could hear it though. They asked me to bring it back if the noise got louder, to me it did not get louder but more frequent and almost continuous at this speed and gets really annoying.

So my 2012 GTI (2DR/6spd/Nav) has a crackling/static sound coming out of the passenger vent.
I took off the vent and the side panel of the dash and took a look around, and can't find anything that causes the sound. It's sounds like static, and it pops and crackles.
It happens particularly on rough roads, and it's driving me insane! I wouldn't mind it so much if I knew what was causing it.

My 07'Passat 2.0T has this annoying loud rattle sound coming from somewhere behind dash board whenever the car was left outside ( under ~55F) overnight. The problem was gone after the car sit under the sun for hours. Is it cause by cheap material VW used in 07 model or assembly ?

My VR6 is making a crackling noise when I let off the gas...even in park or neutral, sport or drive or using the tip. When I give it gas it sounds normal, but when I let off the gas I hear a crackling sound for a few seconds as the rpms drop. It sounds like it's coming more from the center of the car vs. back near the mufflers. What this could be? My first thought is a cat issue?

Hyundai Elantra 01 GLS. The main problem is that the airbag light is on and stays on no matter what. This is my girlfriends old car and she tells me that a couple people told her it had something to do with a faulty/corroded connection or something like that... I have been working on this car for about a year and I am finally to the point where I am just ironing out the little kinks. The old engine was bad along with a lot of other stuff, and I swapped it out for a good motor with less miles on it.
I also have recently replaced the alternator and instrument cluster just to name a couple repairs. Now the two things that I want to get settled are the airbag light and the check engine light. The check engine light comes on sometimes and I am almost positive it either needs a new 02 sensor or cat since when it was ran through a code reader those were the two options my mechanic told me it could be. I also hear a gurgling/crackling faint sound coming from the drivers side dashboard/engine area. I am not sure what this is. How can I get the airbag light off ?

So for a while now, I've been getting an "intermittent" crackling noise (sounds like walking on twigs or wrinkling heavy plastic wrap) from the left front suspension area. The noise is speed dependent, goes away when stopped and get's faster when the car moves faster. At this point it happens pretty consistently, but sometimes it will go away for a little while and then I'll turn a corner or something and all of a sudden the noise returns. But it happens all of the time, not just when turning corners or braking or whatever.
I've inspected the axle and wheel area and don't see any debris or out of place components that are rubbing or have any signs of wear. This happened with both my summer and winter wheels/tires, so it isn't the tire. My only guess is either the wheel bearing or CV. I'm leaning towards the CV just because of the nature of the noise and also that outer CV was one that tore about 2 years ago and may have been torn for a month or so before I noticed. The CV was cleaned and lubed and boot replaced by my indy, but maybe the CV was damaged.

I have a 2014 passat 1.8 tsi comfort line about 7 months old. And i have some questions about it. Does warranty cover interior quality? cuz there are loud crackling noises while driving on normal roads. and recently since it snowed the crackling became much more noticeable and loud, really annoying.
In the morning backing out of the driving way, the breaks squeak in a really high pitch sound, the dealership told me it is normal but it got louder than when i first got it. Seems like its a normal problem for most, but is there a way to reduce the noise? i get its cleaning the brakes but its mad loud.
So driving in the snow the brakes get really bumpy, is that abs or is it like crushing snow? just sorta scary feeling.

I very recently bought a 2009 Prius Gen 2 and immediately I have developed a problem which I will refer to as a "squeaky" dashboard. It really is more like a "rattle". It is not loud and best I can describe it is like soft raindrops. I did not notice it on either of the 2 test drives I took which were during the day. But I noticed it for the first time driving home from LA on the freeway a few nights ago and cruising along at highway speeds.
If I dropped below 40 it would not rattle/squeak. The area from which it was coming is the right part of the dashboard- or more specifically the ledge above the dash. I was at the dealer the other day and one of the mechanics said they see this regularly and they usually solve it by taking the dashboard out and putting padding on all the areas where there could be rubbing and trying to insulate it better.
The first time it happened it ended up being very annoying because it was my first trip. I have not since taken a similar trip but I can tell that the squeak/rattle is there and it comes up when I go over a bump.

So, I just installed a ESE cold air intake on my gli...and when i shift it sounds like air is coming out of the intake. make sense? is this normal? Also, how high is the risk of a hydrolock?

So I've been living in FL and the other day there was a hurricane and the roads flooded. I think I got some water in my engine or somewhere because now my CEL is coming on then flashing and the car sounds like it's underwater! I haven't been able to drive it anywhere to get the code checked, I don't want to drive it because it seems like it's in rough shape. I checked all the plugs and cleaned them, but the 1st one was wet so I think there may have been water in there. After I cleaned the plugs I reset the ECU and the CEL was gone and I drove it 2 miles w/o issue. Then I went to the automotive store to get some oil/filter, etc to change the oil. I get back to my car and as soon as I turn it on again the CEL comes on and then starts flashing after a few mins of me revving it. I noticed that there is water coming out of the exhaust, like a lot more than normal, so what is happening. I did the oil change with no problems but when I started it again the CEL came on and started flashing. 2007 Accent SE

I was on my way to the hardware store today and when entering the parking lot I heard a scraping sounds coming from the front end. I parked and looked under the GT and did not see anything hanging, drove around the parking lot and heard it again. Does not matter straight line or turning, i did notice when I braked I could not hear it. What this could be ? I went out again later to try to pin point it but I am not able to hear it anymore. Just not sure if I should take it in or not.

The issue I'm having, as stated is a no start issue. Its completely random and has no pattern. Here is the issue.
When the issue occurs, you will go to start the car to only have it click at you. No crank, no nothing. The click sounds like it comes from the engine bay but has not been confirmed. If you turn the key without the clutch in, putting the clutch in will make the click sound.
Thinking it was the ignition switch, I replaced it with a unit from advance auto. The issue occurred again shortly after so I pulled it out and put the old one back in. Then I replaced the starter. That didn't do it either.
It hasn't done it in a while so I kind of forgot about it but its started doing it again. Time to fix it.

I am wondering how much fan noise is normal from the passenger rear vent while driving.
My fan is on almost constantly and it sounds like wind coming in through the rear window but it is actually the fan from the vent. I have had passengers in the front seat ask what the noise is coming from the rear. I have taken it into the dealer 3 times and they say that is normal for Prius' to have that noise all the time.
My Prius is 2011, bought on Feb 2, 11.
I have 5000 miles and the noise has been present from the onset of owning the vehicle. I am really frustrated because it sounds excessive to me. Is your fan on most of the time and significantly audible?

When I start my 2013 Prius (the car just passed the 1000 mileage marker) cold, I notice a tick coming from the ICE that almost sounds like a lifter tick. I do remember reading somewhere (I've read so much Prius literature in the past couple of weeks, I could begin to guess where) that the car, when cold, fires after DTC. I noticed this twice now, once when the car had about 500 miles on it, and again this morning, though I'm sure this is occurring each time I start it cold. Is this noise typical or is this something I should bring to the dealership's attention?

So, I have a 1995 Ford Contour that I purchased in May from it's previous owner.
Within the past couple weeks, I've noticed a combination of sounds coming from under the front of the car, especially on the left side and especially when I slow down and make left turns. I know nothing about cars and I just worry about my car sounding like a sinking ship.
