Saw the 2013 Jetta commercial with the dog and in the last scene the owner closes all windows via the exterior driver door handle.
Is this a function available on the Passat? I tried it with no success.
I have the car door apart, how to remove the panel on my camry. I got all the way to where I have to remove the outside handle to completely take out the part that has the actuator built in. Everything is all good until I got to this part. How to finish getting the handle off so the part that goes into the electrical mechanism where the actuator can be removed is done. I got the mechanism basically hanging there. I got the two bolts to what I thought was holding the outside handle on. One bolt is on the side of the door covered by a rubber grommit and the there inside the door in the middle of the handle.

Would non-VW parts be a problem? As for the door handles, I heard the new versions of the B6 have door handles that won't peel, but I haven't been able to confirm. If so, how can I recognize the newer parts from online stores? How to completely peel them? I don't mind the look of the plastic underneath.
The right side of my driver side door handle recently came detached, and I can't get in my vehicle unless I crawl in through the passenger seat.

One small thing that's bothering me, though, is a door handle issue. I tend to open the car door for my girlfriend quite a bit and I've only recently noticed that her door is extremely easy to open. Very little force is needed to pull the door handle with only two fingers. The back doors are the same.
My driver side door is quite the opposite. I always need to pull much harder on that handle, and in some cases if I pull the wrong way I actually have to use force to open it. The only thing I can think of is that it's either just constructed differently as its on the driver door or that I may have actually damaged it a bit when I accidentally hit the lock button on the door as I was opening it. The door actually locked in mid-open and caught the door.
I plan on going to the dealer and testing some other Elantras to see if their driver doors require a bit of pull, and I'd like to hear if anyone else has noticed a difference in opening the driver door as opposed to the other doors? I feel like they should all be silky smooth and require no real effort to open. My driver door just doesn't "pop" open for me anymore.

My exterior driver door handle has stopped working entirely. This means gaining entry on the passenger side door. I'm fortunate enough to have a key-less entry so I don't have to manually unlock. I think the cable is broken.
I have a 2000 Hyundai accent and the exterior door handle on the driver side does not work. It will open from the inside...I already have the door panel off but not sure how to fix the rest.

I can manually put all 4 windows down and open the sunroof then get them all to CLOSE by holding the lock slot on the door but I simply cannot get them all to open at once holding down the driver window switch. I'm doing exactly what the manual states to do. With ignition off. But with power either on or off this doesn't work for me.

View 10 RepliesSo when I get out oft Mazda cx9 I lock the doors and then check if the doors are locked by pulling the door handle. And then the windows roll down by themselves. It freaks me out because what if someone else comes up to the car and is able to open the window? So I went to the car repairman and they say nothing is wrong and it's not possible to make the window roll down from the outside. What am I supposed to do?

View 8 RepliesWe just upgraded our Prius from Gen 3 to Gen 3....a 2012. Great ride, just drove it from SoCal on a Sierra Mtns road trip, a little hiking and snowboarding for our spring break. What we failed to notice upon purchase was a passenger door whose controls want work! The drivers door can lock the car and operate the passenger window and lock. However, the passenger door switch won't open or close the window, nor will it lock the door. All other doors and locks work normally.

When I try to close using the switch, I can hear as if a motor is rotating for a few seconds, but nothing happens. What might be the cause? When I go over to the passenger side, I popped off that little side piece, but when i go to use the torx driver, one has a nut. How the hell do I get a socket down there??
