I have been noticing over the past couple of weeks that my headlights are on in the middle of the day. It is bright outside and the headlights are on. I have the switch in the Auto setting and have turned the DRL's off and enabled the rain sensor. Could it be the light/rain sensor?? Or maybe the light switch??

Just wondering if it's possible to have the driving lights/fogs to turn on with the headlights when the switch is in AUTO? We prefer to just leave the switch in AUTO mode, but it defeats the purpose of even having the front driving lights as they are never used.
View 3 RepliesRecently I found that the auto lighting (dashboard light) is acting weird. Sometimes in the middle of the day, the dashboard will be lighted up (I'm not going under a tunnel, or it's not dark outside). It has happened a couple times, but the dealership said they didn't find any problem.
This is on my 09 Tiguan. There are many other users with a 2010+ Tiguan and the lighting system is very different.
I have a '93 Accord SE and am having a problem with the headlights not lighting when switched on. All other lights, etc., appear to work; the dash, running lights, etc. I have had instances where the headlights would blink on/off a couple times before staying on, but now they just do not come on at all.
When they blinked, it was both lights together, which would lead me to believe this is not an issue with poor connections (corrosion), or the switch itself, but rather wiring related. Just a guess.
Past week I have noticed a flicker on all lighting (head/taillights, interior lights) on my '06 Sonata (4cyl). Seems to be an intermittent problem, as one time in three there is no flicker, and everything seems to be fine.
Yesterday, when pulling into my driveway, I momentarily lost all lighting/radio/fan for what seemed to me a full second and a half before everything "came back on".
I've checked fuses, battery cables (batty is new, 6mos)... Is this alternator related? What else should I be looking at? My Sonata has been bulletproof. No mechanical issues whatsoever....
When AC is on "Auto" the fan runs at slowest speed unless outside temp is over 100 degrees or setting is below 64 degrees. With setting left at 70 or 71 degrees, and outside temp is 80 or higher, cabin temp will slowly rise when driving in traffic and will slowly fall at speeds over 60, but not reach set temp until driving over an hour plus.
If fan is manually adjusted to higher speed, "Auto" system shuts off and AC becomes totally manual control. If the "Auto" button is touched, fan goes off again and the system will not do any of the automatic functions spelled out in manual.
Two different dealers have advised that ALL 2014 Avalons are like this and so it is considered "normal" regardless of what manual says and they and Toyota Customer Service refuse to do anything about it. What is the experience of other 2014 owners.
I own 2010 3rd gen European Executive Prius which is equipped with fabric Toyota's alarm VSS1. I read in manual it is possible to set Automatic doors lock function (over 12mph) , but is not described how to enable that function. How I can activate this function?

I guess I'm curious where the sensor is just to look and make sure it's not something stupid before going to the garage/dealer.
2015 RX350 with Nav. Is there a way to disable the "auto" function of the intermittent wipers to gain manual control when in intermittent mode?. With the rain sensor and speed sensor, often even with the intermittent control at the fastest setting, the wipers don't swipe often enough. Especially when driving at slower speed or waiting at an intersection, the intermittent swipe takes so long that I must manually turn on the wiper to low speed. This makes no sense to me. Just because I'm driving slow or at an intersection, Lexus thinks I don't need clear vision?
This is the first vehicle with rain and speed sensing wipers and it will be my last. This is not only annoying it's a safety hazard.
Is there a user configurable setting to change this? Or is it something the dealer can disable?
If I understand the manual the "Steering wheel auto away and return function" can only be turned off by the dealer. Is this right?
What do most of you do? Seems nice to have. But also could be a lot of wear and tear on the two motors to do this. Is it worth it.
This 2008 Avalon. auto seat function is inop the normal seat controls work. Can't find any info on line regarding this.

I'd like to pack items on the floor behind the driver's seat but am certain that the "auto away" function that moves the seat all the way back when you turn off the car will crush my items. I checked my manual and my Carista app but nothing about disabling this feature. How to do this?
View 7 RepliesI have a 2008 Camry hybrid. It comes with the auto Headlight function where the car will automatic turn the headlight on/off at night and day time. But, but for some reason it doesn't work when I first got the car (pre-owned). I check all the wires/fuse, everything is good, but it just not working. The headlight and on/off switch itself works good. I just wonder if it has an option you can disable/enable it in the console or something else that I should look for?
View 7 RepliesI have a 1988 Ford Thunderbird LX which seems to have automatic headlights. The second the the engine starts, lights go one, and the second the door opens after the engine turns off, lights go out, no matter where the setting on the headlight switch is.
Me being old school enough and use a switch (especially having vintage autos which keep headlights on and will not alert that they are on), I would rather have the switch function as normal, without an automatic function at all.
Is this even doable with this car, and something that is easily changeable (like a relay or something), or is it borderline with we wiring the car.
Swap out the LED dome lights in a 2012 Camry SE? I'm considering switching the bulbs out from the yellow tone stock lighting to the white lighting LED bulbs. I am also considering floor lighting that can be activated with the dome light switch and/or with the doors opening. The issue I'm having is that I would like them to be hooked up to the same switch that the stock lights are set up with. (So I can use the dimmer switch for lighting). Where I would be able to tap into the wiring for this? Is there a DIY thread somewhere?
View 3 RepliesMy 07 AT 2.0 has a weird problem - when auto downshifting after a long drive at highways speeds, the whole car thuds. This happens after driving about 20 miles or so at 60MPH+. 5 or 10 miles are not a problem.
What happens is that when it slips down into 2nd, it sounds like something jams (no grinding). The force/feeling is similar to running into something at a slow speed - like bumping a car while parking.
If I slip into Tip and downshift manually, it doesn't happen. Outside of this the car has 22K miles and drives great.
I have a VW Tiguan w/ auto lights. I was just wondering if there is a way to have the fog lights turn on with the auto lights function.

View 5 RepliesMy red ventilation symbols in the center console and the passenger side ones do not light up anymore . Are these lights inside changeable because now the center console looks a bit weird at night with only half the red vent lights lit up.
View 4 RepliesI recently just bought a 99 Passat wagon and none of the interior lights (dome/vanity/passenger lights) work and the sunroof does not operate. I checked the fuses and bulbs, all are good. Is there some where else I should be looking before I break down and buy a voltmeter?
