I have a question about the the rear vent. Which AC setting turns on and off the rear vent? I dont see a separate control for the rear vent. Secondly is the rear vent controlled by the driver temperature control or the passenger temperature? I don't see either of these addressed in the manual...
View 8 RepliesI find that my 2010 V6 is always cold in the winter. I always need to turn the temperature control to the highest, but there is still not enough heat. This morning, it was -11c outside. After I drove 10 KM (about 20 minutes) , inside the car is still very cold. My feet were frozen. The air from the vent is only warm, not hot. I also find that this car takes longer to warm up. The temperature gauge won't start to move until I drive about 2.5KM.

View 1 RepliesI have a 2010 Toyota Camry 4cyl. My car will automatically change from recirculating air setting to open air on its own. No matter vent setting I have it on. I took it into the dealership. The said they didn't notice anything. So I was checking to see if this is normal, bad relay or switch or whatever.

View 4 RepliesIs it possible to change/reprogram the "HIGH" temperature on the 2012 Passat SEL climate control? I generally like to keep the temperature a bit warmer during the summer than the climate control is able. The selected temperature changes to "HI" above 80 degrees and turns on the heater. What I would like is to change the point that the climate control rolls to "HI" by several degrees, say 85 degrees.
View 3 RepliesThe light behind the temp controls is out on my 99 Passat GLS. First time it went out, I had the dealer replace it. Now, it's out again. The instructions was to pull out the Temp Control Knob and you could see the bulb. I pulled off the Temp Knob on my 99 but did not see a bulb.
Where to find the bulb and how to get to it/replace it (and what bulb this would be).
The 02 bulb responders even said to use a vacuum or a rubber hose to remove. Even if I see a bulb in the center of the Temp Knob housing (which I didn't), I still can't figure out how to pull a bulb out unless I used a needlenose pliers (which will likely break the bulb).
Looking for instructions on how to remove the plastic trim covering the rear passenger vent between the 2 front seats. pictures would be nice . this is for the 2010 passat wagen, which should be the same for all 2010 passats I am guessing.
View 1 RepliesIt was a cold winter in Boston in the last two months. And since then almost every time I started my 2005 Prius, the temperature was default to 75F. Also, the first time I start the car in a day, it almost show the outside temperature as Celsius instead of Fahrenheit unless I press the screen to display something else and then come back, then the Fahrenheit will come back.

View 6 RepliesOur 2009 lx just came off warranty. Unless it is immediately re-started, the a/c is not retaining the temperature and fan settings when the vehicle is turned off. When re-started, auto setting for a/c comes on but fan does not. After about 30 seconds, temperature setting reads 75 degrees and fan has to be manually turned on.
View 1 RepliesMy 2000 Passat's interior is flooding, however it is only in the read driver side floor and it is coming from the vent that is down there... I looked under the battery and vacuumed and cleaned it out... I can't seem to remove the black box on the right side under the hood next to the battery, it holds the ECU I believe. nor can I figure out where the flooding is coming from.

PO 455 : Evaporative emissions control system pressure leak-large leak.
PO 446 : Evaporative emissions control system vent control circuit fault.
Also only my driver side fan is working, may be separate issue?
I got a Ford f150 and getting the error code P0446 Evaporative Emission Control System Vent Control. My truck has burnt up 3 of these things already in the last 8 months. Why my truck keeps killing them?
View 2 RepliesWhen ever I turn my vent air on or change the temperature dial in my golf (non-climate control) the A/C turns on. If I just have the heater on and its too warm and I turn the dial from red toward blue the A/C will turn it self on. If I keep the heat the same and turn the fan from 1 to 2 the A/c will turn itself on. (At least the A/C signal lights up yellow.)
Is this normal for the golf or is something screwy? maybe it needs the ac to dehumidify or something but it is tough to constantly manually turn off the a/c. And btw If I hit the "off" button, the a/c will turn off, but then turn itself back on if i do any thing else.
I have a 2007 Prius. I turned on the AC for the first time this spring last week and the air blowing out of the vent was ambient temperature. When I looked through the sight glass with the AC running, it looks like there's fluid in there, but it's not moving anywhere and the evaporator pipe did not feel cool. I also replaced the 12 V battery a few months ago, with an optima yellow top battery.
What's wrong with the AC? Will a recharge do it fix this, or did I mess something up with the battery. There were a lot of warnings about "resetting" the system after you have the 12V out, but I didn't seem to have any problems that were described as symptomatic of needing a reset.
My key died today so I had to pull out my spare. Isn't there a way to make the key control the windows and sunroof with the key? I'm only finding info on how you can make it unlock the drivers door or all. I have a 2010 SEL 4Motion.

However, if the doors are unlocked, the interior lights do not come on and I get in the car in the dark and fumble around in the dark getting situated. Is there a setting that controls this so I can change it?

View 19 RepliesBought my truck (2000 F150, Manual, V6) used with 135k on it. In 3 months I've put 10k more on it and am starting to run into a weird A/C problem.
Driving to one of my clients, everything was working fine. When I left there was no A/C. I checked coolant, fuses, etc with no luck. We had a bit of a cold-snap and I also found out my heater didnt work. Air comes out of the vents, but it's all panel air, regardless of temp or control settings.
Took it to a mechanic who said the high-pressure switch was dirty, he cleaned it and the A/C worked at the shop. The moment I left the exact same problems started happening again. It's been back to the same mechanic, and today he tells me that the a/c clutch is drawing to many amps and shorting it out, at which point the PCM tells it to goto hell. He can get it working by resetting the computer, however, the moment I put it in gear it stops working (a/c, heat, all of it). He was able to put power directly to it and it run with no problems.
To me (very little mechanical knowledge) it seems like power, or the condensor. The mechanic said that the heat going out isn't related at all, which makes no sense to me because it's happened there in his shop where the heat will only work if the a/c works. Hes telling me I need either a new clutch or a new compressor altogether. Quoted me 300 and 1000 for each respectively.
Side-Note: The morning of the day when the a/c initially broke, my car turned off suddenly while driving. I was in gear and driving down the road like normal. I popped the clutch, turned the key and it started right back up. Also, cruise control seems to have stopped working and the eft blinker. If i hold the lever down (like push an extra 2cm) it comes on and works. It is sporadic.
