I'm at a complete loss, My drivers side back door has stopped working, Alarm, window and lock, I've checked my fuses, and it seems i only have 3 doors in the fuse box, what are the numbers to the door fuses in the box.
View 9 RepliesMy buddy just picked up a 2007 passat 2.0t. Upon bringing it home and locking it we noticed the horn didn't beep indicating an active alarm. I discovered the rear passenger door wasn't locking, and when opening it, even though the alarm was activated, the alarm didn't go off. The door unlock/lock switch as well as the window switch both aren't working. Can't open the window from the driver's door switch either.
I'm guessing it's probably something to do with the power to the door since it's completely unresponsive. Where would we be able to check if power is going to the door? Also, since the alarm doesn't go off when opened is there a sensor somewhere that says when the door is open and or locked?
I'm having some problems with the power windows and locks. The passenger side window only works when it wants to. The power lock on the same door will not lock unless I push it down. And the lights that are on the switches don't work.
View 4 RepliesI own a 1999 passat and my driver's side window stopped working and fell into the door. I have pulled the window up with pliers for now but I was wondering how to take the door apart. There is what looks like two screws on the side of the door but they won't loosen.
View 9 RepliesI've been dealing with a frustrating issue for a while now. Whenever I use my key fob the alarm sets but my front and back driver side doors won't lock. After playing around I've noticed that the driver's side door locks when actually inserting the key and turning. Also, all of the doors lock when I am sitting in the driver's seat and push the lock button on the door panel but the back driver's side door won't unlock unless I crank the vehicle and hit the unlock button. I don't think the key fob has a low battery because I've used both key fobs and it locks one side but not the other. It's all very weird to me. The situation is frustrating for two reasons:
1) Doors are not actually locking so thieves have access to whatever they can grab and run away;
2) I occasionally forget to hit the unlock button and cause my alarm to go off and annoy neighbors, coworkers, etc.
What could be causing this? I'd like a quick fix but I'm afraid I'm going to have to open up the door panels and play around all weekend.
I have a 2003 Passat 1.8T Wagon.
My passenger side, front window and lock stopped working. Once I cranked the AC and the car cooled a bit, the lock and window would work again.
Now, they have stopped working completely.
So all but the driver door window switch stopped working including the lock and unlock buttons. The windows still go up and down but from the other door switches.
My best guess is the master switch is gone bad. And at over 65k I'm sure it's no longer under warranty. I called the local dealer today and quoted me over $500 and would not give me the part number.
After parking the car for 15mins and turned the car back on, decided to try again. Everything works now I haven't taken anything apart yet but now I'm curious what caused it to temporarily fail.
After 30 mins of the car being on I decided to roll the windows up but the switch was dead again.
I tried to vent my windows after I shut off the car yesterday, by using the key on the driver's door. The windows would not roll down. I know to do this remotely, it would require the VAG, but I thought this feature was enabled from the factory.

Also is this harming the car after starting? I know it doesn't prime the fuel pump, but will it adversely effect anything if I don't fix it?
I just got my 00 passat in october and for some reason my alarm system goes off after I unlock my driver side door and try to start it. what should I do?

I first noticed this when it was wet outside a couple months back - then it became intermittent, now it's always. How to fix it?
View 2 RepliesI recently got a used 2007 prius as my first car; Unfortunately today the drivers side lock has stopped working. when trying to use the smart unlock, the Prius would beep many times, and the drivers door would not unlock (or lock for that matter). After getting into the car (with the mini key) I noticed that the inner lock button does not lock or unlock that door either.
All other doors function normally. The lock can be manually operated, so it's probably not mechanical.
At first we would use the remote and sometimes the lock would not lock the drivers side door but the rest of the car would. Normally if I tried a second time it would catch and lock.
Now I need to flip the lock switch myself when getting out of the car. I can unlock the car with the remote but there has been the odd time that it will not unlock via the remote and I've had to go around to the passenger side and reach over to unlock the drivers side door.
If I hold the lock and try to unlock or lock the car it is very weak compared to doing the same with all the others doors.
From looking around if sounds like it could be the actuator?
If this is the case how easy is this to replace on my own? I've been trying to see if there's a video anywhere but no luck finding one.
My drivers door lock quit working.all the others still respond to the drivers door switch.the motor works when on the bench.one of the wires has broken or lost connection. Where to check first?
View 4 RepliesOn occasion my drivers side door will not unlock, I have a SEL with the key less sensors so as I try to get in the car it unlocks all the rest of the doors but not the drivers, I have to go to the other side and physically use the inside latch and then that door unlocks. I notice this when I run the remote start cycle twice more than anything.
View 4 Repliesrecently my friends driver window in her 2002 passat has stopped working. her car has automatic windows and im hoping its something simple. she doesnt know much about cars, but she says that the window was making a weird noise and her friends dad thought maybe it came off of the track. the window was rolling down halfway than bumping its self back up. than one day it got stuck down at halfway so her friends dad pulled it shut. And now the window is completely stuck up. all of the other windows are working fine.

View 7 RepliesI've had my 2013 for about 1.5 years and I've had the cold lock issue repeatedly as I'm sure anyone in a cold climate has had (once where every single door was frozen and I couldn't even use the damn thing until it got warmer). Now the drivers door won't lock. It shuts and the latch engages, but it won't lock. The alarm enables when I click to lock (not really, but the led flashes red), but you can just pull open the drivers door. The alarm doesn't sound. It's been above freezing for at least the last week here...
View 11 RepliesI just purchased a 99 1.8t and the drivers seat will not lock in place. It slides back and forth. I looked underneath and see the gearing but was wondering if this is a problem to where I need to remove the seat to fix or maybe some thing easier.
View 3 RepliesRolling up windows last night and all my windows go up except for drivers side. I can hear the motor so that's not the problem, I believe the window got taken out of its 'tracks' and is loose in the door. I can hear it moving around in there when I am driving and opening and closing the door. I am trying to be very fragile with it, how to take the door off so I can see the interior of that door.
