So the service reminder came on this past Saturday, went to the dealer and had them check it out. No issues and they said they reset it. I was driving home last night and it came back on. Should I be concerned the reminder came back on? The car ahs 18K miles and the 20K service was done prior to me purchasing the car. Vehicle is a 2012 Passat SE.

It says " ATF contact this dealer for Maintenance" The car shifts just fine. I did have to replace the oil pan and some fluid about 6 months ago and no issues since. I can find not one drop of fluid in my Garage. What triggers the indicator?

View 4 RepliesI have a 1996 Celica GT and I am having problems with the service reminder indicators within the instrument cluster panel. I recently had the car inspected in Pennsylvania and I was told that some of the service indicators were not working so they failed the cars inspection. Some of these indicators should illuminate when the ignition key is turned to the ACC or ON position(s). Currently, the only indicators that light up when the key is turned to the ACC or ON position are the SRS Airbag Warning light that stays lit for about six seconds, the BRAKE indicator, the low oil pressure warning light and the bing bing bing sound that my seatbelt is not fastened with no indicator light showing up in the instrument cluster. The CHECK ENGINE and the ABS lights do not light up either.
I removed the instrument cluster and found the CHECK ENGINE bulb was blown so I replaced the bulb and reinstalled the instrument cluster. Per the manual, I checked the 7.5 amp fuse labeled 'instrument panel lights' in position #22 per the diagram and found the fuse to be in good working order. I also checked the 10 amp fuse labeled 'gauges and meters' in position #32 per the diagram and found the fuse to be in good working order. No change to the status of the lights as described above. My daughter did assure me that these lights worked at some point over the past year (she was away at college).

Car is at 18K miles and change, I had it serviced at all the factory intervals sticker on my windshield (from VW dealer) says next service at 20,345 so it looks like VW is on a 5K interval and my computer is looking for something else. Should I ignore the nagging until the proper service interval or take it to the dealer, then I can bug them about the laggy gearbox and other niggles ...
My wife has 2012 Camry with 23K.
Right now the service engine soon light blinks as the car starts up. Is it a matter of dealer plugging something into clear code? What will the dealer want to service?
Just had my 20,000 mile service yesterday on my Prius Plug In and got 10-15mpg loss in gas mileage today. It seems like ECO mode isn't even working anymore because MPG just drops to 15 MPG when you accelerate pass the half way point.
I'll take it back to dealership tomorrow? It should have only been a oil change and oil filter change. Reading some old threads makes me thing they put in the wrong oil?? It says 0W20 on service contract but not sure if correct.
So I have two things I want to "fix" on my Passat:
1) Is there a way to turn off the "oil change" service warning message permanently? The dealer can do it but they want $46 every time And there is no way I will do that. I change the oil and filter myself.
2) When I lock my car the lights flash and the horn honks, is there a way to turn off the horn?
How to put wipers into service mode....to replace the blades, clean the element, leave them up before a snow storm, etc.

View 3 RepliesHaving a strong odor/smell in there car after service at the dealer? I have a strong smell as if someone sprayed an aerosol can in the car or a marker was left without the lid on it. It has been 2 days since the service and the smell is still there. I called the dealer and they said they would take a look at it, but they didn't know what it would be. I though it might be the adblue since they did refill it, but I don't think that stuff has this strong of a smell and the filler is in the trunk area.

View 12 RepliesOk, so I was already getting pretty bad fuel economy from my 3.6 4motion wagon (14/24 city/highway). so last week I take it in to the dealer for 5k oil service. now after the service I get 10/18 (city/highway)!!!!
Car seems to run fine, but for some reason the fuel economy has dropped significantly. Most people on here say they get better economy after the 5k service.
Now the car is at the dealer for a few days for them to check it out. Gave me a old hyundai for a loaner.
