So my battery had died and just got a new one. But i noticed that my automatic up/down on the drivers side window doesn't work, I have to keep pressing the button for it to go up or down.... the other 3 windows are working perfectly. Is there a way to fix this?
View 3 RepliesSo it started when the auto up DID work, and when it closed, it automatically came back down. In order to close the window, I had to use the switch in the non-auto mode. Now, the auto up and down don't work.
View 11 RepliesI had the heater core flushed, inspection done, a tie rod end replaced, and both low beams replaced to pass inspection in January. The driver's side low beam stopped working after a week.
When I would hit a bump in the road, it would start working for a while till I hit another bump and then it would go off. Now the driver's side low beam never works.
I could have gone back to the mechanic, but it's an 80 mile round trip(they used to be a lot cheaper than the dealership). Now that the weather is starting to get better, do you think it's a simple problem that I can fix myself? I don't want to waste 80 miles worth of gas just to have them charge me for something that they already charged me to fix. The next time I'm due an oil change I may go there and demand that they fix the light too, but I'm not going to waste 80 miles of gas just for the light.
2009 Prius all windows stopped working except the drivers window.I have checked fuses,window locks,etc...I heard that the problem is the "bcm" which is located under the drivers seat. One window was half way down when it stopped working so I took the door panel off and ran wires from my laptop power supply and ran it up. I am wondering if i could run a wire from the battery with the correct fuse on it to each window and bypass this '"bcm" thing altogether.

I replaced the master switch on the driver side and it still does not work. I have checked the fuses--Side, below and under the hood and have even found inline fuses below--all were good. Could the dealer have to program my new switch? I do not have child safety locks.
View 2 RepliesI had the windshield replaced in my truck and now my drivers side wiper doesn't work. The passenger side moves normally however drivers twitches and doesn't move. Also if I grab it it moves freely without any friction. I'm stumped.
View 5 RepliesMy 1994 Thunderbird driver side electric window suddenly will not work. Passenger side works normal. Door lock, electric rear view mirror, and interior lite on bottom of driver side all work. Checked fuse panel and all is normal. Removed black triangle shaped panel where switches for window and door lock and door handle stick through and there are no broken or pulled off wires from the switch. The driver side switch "clicks" when pushed and the voltage guage on the dash "jumps" but motor does not respond on driver side only.
I removed and lifted off the large inside door panel, peeled back the plastic waterproof material and have the door panel balanced on a stool from below. I want to check for loose/or disconnect wires into the motor but at this point the diagram of where the motor should be from my old Haynes Repair Manual for 1989-1997 Ford Thunderbird-Mercury-Cougar does not match what I have. The motor seems to be not accessible so I can check the wiring.
I realize that the problem could be in the switch even though it "clicks" and sounds normal but the connections into the motor or the motor itself could be the culprit in my thinking. I just can't see at the moment how to check that motor. The car has 164,000 miles and obviously that door has opened and closed thousands of time jarring the components.
I just bought myself a MKIV .:R and it is outstanding. Im slowly getting it up to my spec. The driver side window switch doesn't like to work to roll the left window down. The double down feature works great but not the momentary part of it. All I can find are switches for the 4 door.
View 10 RepliesMy drivers side power window does not work as if its getting no electricity. I bought a new regulator, plugged it in and it still does not work. I bought the 4 switch console, replaced it and still it does not work. The 3 other windows work though.
I checked the fuse, its fine. I am wondering where the electrical current could be stopped. Also, where could I get a schematic of the window pins so I can check the voltages and what each pin does?
The gate to the right of the PRNDL gate of the automatic transmission in my 2003 1.8T with the "+" and "-" stopped working. What may be wrong? The transmission works fine and shifts normally. I did replace the fluid recently but did nothing except remove the fluid and refill.
View 2 RepliesMy drivers window goes up and down good but the auto down does not work. I checked the fuse/relay that is in the box under the hood, drivers side and it looked okay but to be sure I swapped it with the one for the electric seats, same amp and relay and it still does not work.
View 2 RepliesI just bought a 2006 Lexus GS300 AWD. Bought it with 99k from a older gentleman who seemed like he took really care of the car. Gave me all type of Lexus dealership service receipts. I recently noticed that the driver side seat heating and cooling doesn't work right, passenger seat works fine. I haven't checked the fuses yet just wanted to get some opinions before getting into it.

Later in the day we noticed that the front window switch for the passenger window on the drivers side, does not work. The one on the passenger door works fine so it's not the motor. How difficult are these to replace? BTW, the window lock switch is NOT on.
View 13 RepliesI have checked all wires for krosion and fuse's are good so confused! Just put brand new tail lights bulbs in! The top one comes on as a running light but nothing else works. I also checked under hood fuses too!
1.Only Hazard light that works is on the Right Front passenger side.
2 Drivers side Brake Light & Turn Signal Doesn't Work. But passenger works fine! Left turn signal is out and blinks really fast!
3.Passenger Side Overhead Outside Light on cab is out . Okay that's probably just a bulb!
I have a 2005 Bonneville. Just recently the doors will lock and unlock on their own. The controls(windows/mirror) and lock on the drivers side works intermittently. The window and locks on the passenger side work correctly. At least I haven't found a time they don't work. Coincidentally, things started acting up after the drivers side widow was left open and a little rain came in. I have removed the mirror/window control panel from the drivers side, unplugged the connector, cleaned and put electrical grease on the contacts.. I did the same thing with another connector I could reach inside the door panel.
View 3 RepliesI have a , 4 door, 5,000 miles... had it for over 3 months now, car has been flawless except for a faulty driver side window switch (rattled bad when playing music) so dealer replaced and it still rattles but it's not as bad, that was about a month ago, now I noticed that the automatic driver window up/down does not work anymore. The window still goes up and down perfectly fine...but it's not one touch you have to hold it, all the other doors work fine on one touch and the drivers used to work until now...

Also i get a lot wind noise coming through once on the motorway is this because the seals are worn out?
View 3 RepliesI have earlier had problems with my driver's outside door handle which now and then doesn't open the door for a week or two, but then suddenly starts to work as normal again for long periods.
Yesterday one of my children had grabbed the outside door handle while I was operating the remote to unlock the car. After that the outside door handle doesn't work any more. I find it unbelieveable that VW designs a system which doesn't gracefully handle a grabbed handle while operating the central lock.
Anyhow, I took off the outer bottom window seal of the door and immediately saw the brown wire coming from the lock assembly. It is supposed to be straight, but this was loose. Look at this image (wire mirrored from the window):

Most internet tips tells me to slam the door a number of times until the wire returns to its position and all is well - probably until the next time the same thing happens...
I have two scenarios, my driver's door handle which doesn't work now and then, and the rear side door which immediately stopped working after the handle was pulled while I unlocked the car.
In the first scenario I aussume that it would be ok to lube or clean the wire? But what is the cure for the second scenario? Also can I somehow access the other end of the wire (at the lock mechanism end) without completely dismantle the door?
Yesterday, the driver side window in my Passat (1.8T, year 1999) kind of "dropped", and wouldn't close now. When I try to close using the switch, I can hear as if a motor is rotating for a few seconds, but nothing happens. What might be the cause? Can it be fixed relatively easily without making a trip to the dealer?

In addition, they are going to investigate my touchscreen, as I've been having some red/white flickering issues when it is?
Okay first i will start with the driver side window... it doesnt want to go up or down but it creates a clicking noise, and then the blower doesnt blow anymore.
