View 1 RepliesAfter months of researching and foruming, I made a satisfied decision to upgrade from Halogen to aftermarket HID Bi-Xenon which is really great in color and high visibility at night.
Moreover, behind Halogen headlight there is a 8mn bolt where you will use your hand or 8mn wrench (remove the black plastic cover over bumper to make more room). Twist it Clockwise to lower and Counter Clockwise to raise headlight.
I aimed mine relatively low because my intention is for a great looking light, high visibility and not blind on-coming traffic and yeah I'm so satisfied.
This morning a dash light informed me a headlight bulb was out. It was my DTR light on the passenger side.
I purchased Sylvania H7 high intensity, installed it and it failed to work properly. Daytime light on only drivers side works.
High Beam on , both lights works.
I checked my manual and it said to check fuse in the 5 slot on the driver side dash/door panel and there actually is no fuse in there. I checked the driver side and there was no fuse there either.
I replaced my driver side bulb last year and it took 5 mins....i am already 4 hours into this!
I installed an aftermarket HID's on my 06 B6 2.0T, used VAG-COM to disabled DRL's. They work great no issue, expect when I use my high beam.....both HID's go out and I get warning light/message on the dash. I can get them to come back on by turning the lights off and back on.
View 7 RepliesMy right sided high beam stopped working and my dash "bulb" warning light is on. Low beams working normally and still swivel around on startup and when turning. Is there actually a separate bulb for the high beams? I ask because when you flick on the high beams I hear mechanical movement inside the headlight housing, making me think high beams may be just a redirecting of the light. Having computer issues so haven't tried VAGcom yet. Also haven't checked fuses...
View 9 RepliesAny tips for replacing the passenger side high beam? I can get my hand in there by there is no way to turn the bulb. Any easy tool to grip and turn the bulb?
View 5 RepliesMy high beam doesnt work. I have a Euro Passat with H7. I bought new H7 yesterday but still no luck.
I have switched fuses to new ones.
Is there anything else I can check?
Is there relays on this model for the high beams?
Low beams works fine and everything else in lights.
My car is fully stock, with all options available to me (cold weather package not available here). The low-beam triple-LED headlights are aimed way too low compared to all my previous cars, and where they should be. BUT high-beam is aimed properly. So if I adjust the low-beams up, my high-beams might end up lighting up the trees, not the road.
If adjust the headlights up on a fully stock car (not lowered at the front)? Are the high beams still lighting up the road fine? And if you can be specific as the number of turns on the screwdriver, it'd be good too to have an initial adjustment reference.
I drive a 96 Subaru Legacy. What does it mean when one of the high beams is dimmer (less light output) than the low beam? I am using a brand-new bulb. It's not an adjustment issue because I was looking at the bulb when it was outside of the housing and it clearly gets dimmer when you switch to brights. However, they are equally bright when on low-beam, so I don't think its just a crossed wire.
View 2 RepliesHow do you activate the parking lights with the blinker/high beam stalk. It has the P....
View 7 RepliesSo, last night I go to turn on the high beams on my 2002 Passat (pushing the bar on the left of the steering column forward) ... and nothing happens. The bar clicks into place as it should, but no high beams. The little indicator light on the dashboard does not come on, either.
I try to flash my high beams, and that DOES work. The brights come on, and the little indicator lights up when the beams engage.
So ... I know it's not a fuse, since the lights are actually functioning. What part/switch/relay/whatever needs to be replaced to get this fixed? I feel like this would involve me needing to pull apart the mechanism in the steering column, but I hope not ...
I replaced the low beam and high beam on my Subaru, now the low beam is very dim and the high beam doesn't work. Careful not to touch the bulb.
View 3 RepliesI have a 2012 Hyundai Accent GLS and recently noticed that my low beam only works in the high beam setting and the high beam doesn't work.
View 10 RepliesWhen I use the high beams on my GTI with LP, the pattern goes very high with an oval/round top. The road is lit up fine, but I've never seen a pattern go up so high. Is this normal or a problem.
View 15 Repliesis it possible to upgrade the wastegate so that it makes that pinging noise, not bov noise wastegate noise.
View 2 RepliesI have a 2012 gti with oem bi-xenon head lights. What code or setting do you use on vagcom to bring on the fog lights when I turn on highbeam?
View 3 RepliesI am planning to replace the headlight (high beam) light of my 2006 Toyota Camry. The original OEM light lasted for nearly 6/7 years.
I noticed in some forum that "Sylvania 9005SU SilverStar Ultra High Performance Headlight Bulbs" is good, but it has short life of less than 1 year.
I have a 2007 Camry SE V6 and noticed that my high beam/DRL won't turn off even when the car is off. I had to take out the fuses for both so it wouldn't drain my batteries. Its the exact same issue as the OP in this thread:
High Beam Headlights Stuck On. Is it a relay issue or switch?
Last week I smelled something burning when I arrived home. I looked around the car and did not see any smoke. I noticed the other night that I had no headlights (low or hi beam) The fog light work fine. No fuses are out.
View 2 RepliesIs there a way to easily disable the high beam DRL on the GT? Last summer I installed the i30 fog lights with DRL built into them and really have no reason to have the high beam DRL not to mention the partially lit halogen high beam looks like garbage in my opinion. Something a little better looking than a partially lit halogen?
View 7 RepliesI have been trying to sort this issue for a while now to no avail. I have had my MKV .:R since February and this problem has existed since I bought it. If the headlight switch is in the "off" position, my lights are off. That is good.
So far, whenever the switch is switched to "auto," the light are ALWAYS on. That doesn't bother me at all, but it seems wrong. Obviously, when it is in the "on: position, they're also on.
Now the problem I have encountered is whenever the lights are on (ie not in the "off" position) the driver's side light is always on the "high" position, even if my brights are not flicked on. The passenger light switches from low to high according to whether I have the brights flicked on or off.
