Passat (B6) :: Spoiler Keeps Popping Out Of Place On One Side
Oct 1, 2011
The front spoiler on my wagon keeps popping out of place slightly. It's on the passenger side just above the fog lamp. If I press it in, it snaps into place, but pops out after some driving. Does it snap into place all around? Any quick diy to keep it in place?

I just purchased a 99 1.8t and the drivers seat will not lock in place. It slides back and forth. I looked underneath and see the gearing but was wondering if this is a problem to where I need to remove the seat to fix or maybe some thing easier.

When I was leaving for work, I noticed that the driver side of my front spoiler popped out (where it meets the wheel well). I tried to push it in but it wouldn't stay. I saw that there are 2 slits that look like a point for something from the spoiler to clip onto the bumper but I see nothing on the spoiler that will clip to them. I have a 2007 SE.

We have a 1999 Passat GLX 2.8 auto. I recently put on a new inner and outer tie rod as well as a lower forward control arm. The issue that we are experiencing is that when accelerating or braking hard there is a popping/clunking noise coming from the driver front area. When accelerating or braking normally/ smoothly it is fine. But, as I said accelerate or brake hard it will make a single pop or clunk and that is it, just once when braking hard or accelerating quickly.

I just took possession of a 2014 Passat TDI Highlight (Canadian).
The rear spoiler comes standard and installed at the factory. I washed my car yesterday and I noticed that the clearcoat on the top of the trunk stops short about 1 or 2 mm from the edge of the spoiler. Now, that seems a bit odd to me as I would think they would paint and finish the car then add the spoiler after.

Went out to the car today - and the wipers were in the 1/2 way position. I do not remember having the wipers on the last time I drove. So the upshot is - they now do not work at all. They are frozen in place. They "twitch" a bit when I adjust the stalk - but they do not go to the normal "resting" position.

The pasenger side trim piece that covers the A-pillar air bag in my 07 XLE will not stay in place. It becomes loose and you notice a gap at the top. You can smack it back in place and it appears to snap back in to where it belongs, but 15 minutes of driving and it comes loose again. I have replaced the clip (part number 90950-A8001) that holds it in, but it still just comes loose again a short time later.

Ok I let My friends use my passat wagon to move afew things and when he brought it back my wipers where stuck in the upright position when the car is driving, on or off. When I hit the wiper switch they move slightly to the left before going back down and working as they are suppose to. But the second I turn them off they will go to the upright position and even if the car is turned off with them down, the second you start or turn the car on they will move to the upright position and stay that way. So it seems like this is their new resting place. My question is, how do I get them back to their original resting place down where they are suppose to be.

I've seen a couple of threads on this and it all seems to easy with little explanation. Any issues with breaking the tabs or mirrors themselves? Is there any trick to popping out the side mirrors with ease? I'm going to install blue heated blind spot mirrors tonight and wanted to hear a little feedback.

I recently developed a tapping/popping noise come from the passenger's side of my GLI. The noise is kind of hard to explain, it's similar to the popping sound the seats make every once in awhile when you move around in them, if that makes any sense. I can't really get a video of the sound because I don't think it's quite loud enough. It's starting to get worse, and getting aggravating. It's not coming from the seat, it's more up near the front of the car, maybe where the door hinges are? I can't really pinpoint it.

So I washed my car today.. was wiping it a little and noticed that the right side of front bumper was loose.. then a closer inspection showed that I can lift it! I didn't collide into anything whatsoever, maybe from speed bumps or potholes?

So my brand new 2012 2.5 with 143 miles already has an issue. Having a single pop sound from somewhere near the drivers door, maybe the seat, or door frame? Also I think it mostly happens when accelerating from a stop. Maybe around 3-10 mph. Pretty sure its an interior thing, not drivetrain related.

I have a 05 camry that is making popping noises by the drivers side when the wheel is turned once around (left or right) in PARK. Everything looked good to me, I just recently got the car back from a shop.
*The car doesn't pop when it is in motion, because of this, I raised the front of the car to test and see if it would make the popping noise but there no popping noise either.

I just got a H&R Sport Cup Kit installed along with new strut mounts and bearings on my 2001 GTi. My front right side strut is making a popping sound whenever I accelerate or brake slightly hard and sometimes when hitting a bump in the road. What's causing the sound? Could it be I have a bad strut? Also the left side is fine and doesn't make noise at all..

Here's one I haven't heard of before on a Prius:
As I was closing my front driver's side window this afternoon I heard a pop or bang, and I noticed the window was closed, mostly, but it didn't fit right and the top rear of the window was out of the frame, up above where it should be, and the front, sloping portion of the window was below where it should be.
I put it up and down a few times, and eventually managed to coax it back into position, but it didn't stay there when I opened and closed the window again. It feels to me like whatever connects the glass to the motor and gizmoss that lift it up and down has broken or come undone.
I fear that it is a dangerous condition, because the window might pop out completely at high speed. Unlike the last time I remember having a car with a window disconnected from its mechanism (the 60's or so), we no longer have window frames to make sure they stay in place when the machinery breaks. Also, it has always seemed to me that the car's aerodynamic shape puts pressure on the doors and glass at highway speeds.
Anyway, I'm going to get this in to the dealer as soon as possible, but I wanted to ask:
Am I paranoid not to want to drive it at speed until I get it fixed?

We have had this problem for about two years now. We finally took the car to the dealership and they, without being able to duplicate it, recommended to change the sliding door roller for the price tag of $375. We did and it did not fix the problem. We took it back few times and the popping noise did not take place while there and left the dealership without a solution. We finally took it back today armed with a video on my iPhone displaying the problem (popping audio included). We left it with them and lo and behold they said that they were now able to duplicate the problem and they are able to fix it by replacing not two but three latches.

We have a 2008 NF, and have been experiencing popping noises from the drivers side near the door. Especially when it's been colder out, but in general.
The tie-rod ends, ball joints, and the struts have been replaced. The question is: What we is it likely to be?
The car has ~100k on it, so it was not really to surprising that those items would need to be replaced.
However, since I didn't have time to do it, we had someone else do the eval and work.
Are there any typical issues that stand out with the NF Sonata that would cause this based on what I've told you all?
It's a great car, but this is driving us nuts.

We have had our new 2013 Elantra GLS for one week. The last two days I have been hearing this pop noise on the drivers side. It does it after I turn left but not until the car has straightened up and has reached about 20 miles an hour. It does it only once but it does do it each time I start the car and make a left turn and get up to about 20 miles an hour. Our Sentra makes a noise like this but it is an engine component kicking in so it is normal.
The sound does not come from the wheel area so if this was a normal sound similar to what the Sentra does. The sound is more from the engine level on the drivers side.

I just picked up a 2011 Golf TDI a week ago and so far, I love it! I have about 600 miles on it now and I have noticed that the driver's side lumbar support is very stiff to turn compared to the passenger side. It is also making a creaking noise when it is adjusted and I can feel the seat compress slightly when I put pressure on it (say, when I shift gears or move positions) and it also makes noise when doing so.
Just wondering if this is a common problem, if there is an easy fix, or should the dealer take care of it. My thoughts right now are to take it right back to the dealer and let them deal with it.

I put lowering springs on a few months ago and a pop/clunk has developed. There is a tiny lip of pavement just past my garage door and it clunks as I back out at an angle over it. Worse case I can check the torque on all of the bolts.

So I just don't have any luck with anything turbo related. Last time it was my intercooler that went out. Now the passenger side intercooler tube keeps popping off and the damn clamp is broken so I can't tighten back up to even get me to the damn truck stop. I guess it could be worse...it could be late at night and raining...oh what, it is.
