For some strange reason, my side-view mirror (passenger) stopped angling down when in reverse . . .

View 10 RepliesI believe it is a great feature to automatically adjust the side view mirrors downward when the car is put into reverse. One question, Does the passenger side mirror the only mirror which adjusts downward? My drivers side mirror does not move at all.
View 4 RepliesI have a 2003 Camry LE. A replacement drivers side exterior door handle was installed yesterday. The battery was disconnected. Today neither of the side view mirrors work.
(re: checking fuse. Where located & initials on the cover? I don't see it in the manual ).
PS- My girl has 189,000 miles. She has never stalled, sputtered, hesitated. A testament to regular basic upkeep.
There's a light under both side mirrors that is supposed to light up when the car is unlocked or when a door is open. However, my lovely Egg doesn't do this. Is there a button on my space ship that i have to push?
View 6 RepliesFor those of you with power folding mirrors on their Golf VIs: Do you ever experience unfolding lag? Mine sometimes take up to 2 mins to unfold after moving the rotary switch, while other times they unfold instantly.
View 19 RepliesOver the past 6 months my side view mirrors have been getting finicky about tilting down. In other directions they move fine (left, right, up).
I just tried replacing the mirror switch, and it didn't fix anything; the exact same symptoms are there. Here's what I observe
* Neither the driver nor passenger side mirrors will aim down
* Left/Right/Up all work fine
* Occasionally (but rarely), they will suddenly work.
* Replacing the switch fixed nothing
* I also checked the wiring from the door to the switch and there were no visible cracks or damage, and the pins were well seated in the plug.
* Holding the mirror control in 'down' and wiggling the wiring makes no difference.
* I have a 2 door '13 Golf R (posting in GTI forum because it's more active).
* I have heated mirrors, but no folding or auto-dip.
I saw a number of posts on mods, and a couple on switch issues but in all of those installing a new switch seemed to do the trick.
Looking for directions to remove mirror housing. I'm switching to the brushed aluminum look.
And while i was at it i wanted to switch out the side view mirrors for the blue tinted mirrors.
We have a 2004 Lexus GX400. Both electronic side-view mirrors stick. In reverse, they stick and often the driver controls work intermittently.
View 6 RepliesAll of a sudden the Side View mirrors on my prius aren't working. Which fuse controls the Side View mirrors?
View 6 RepliesI have a 2013 RX. This problem just started today. Have I accidentally changed some setting or do I need to take the car to the dealer for repair?
View 5 RepliesI have an 07 Camry SE V6 with auto dimming rear and side view mirrors that just stopped working. I've checked the fuses and everything is ok - where to look next?
View 14 RepliesDo both mirrors go down evenly when car is put in reverse! My passenger side goes down further then driver side.
View 4 RepliesI purchased an '04 Silverado V8 with 50K miles for my wife and then got an '06 White V8 for myself. In the owner's manual there is an oblique reference to the side mirrors angling down while in reverse to aid parking. My wife's car seems to do this whereas mine does not. I assume I need to set up this feature somehow but I can't for the life of me find it in the manual.
View 11 RepliesDo the passenger side mirrors on the LX570 dip when n reverse? I have a 2013 model year LX and I can't figure out a way to make them do that automatically when I throw it in reverse. I like the multi-camera feature, but I do like using my mirrors when parking and want it to automatically dip the mirror.
View 3 RepliesSomething seems to have changed with the '13 ES 350 I bought in October. The side mirrors have stopped pointing down when the car is in reverse.
I don't believe that I've changed and settings but furious finger poking might have taken place as some point in the recent past. What has changed?
Yesterday a friend drove my 2013 ES350 and adjusted all the mirrors and seat to his preference. When I got back in to drive, I pushed the buttons to return to my settings. But now when in reverse, the side mirrors do not tilt downward, they revert to his settings. How do I undo this?
View 10 RepliesFirstly, when i put my car in reverse, my passenger side view mirror does not automatically tilt. is there some sort of setting i must go to?
Secondly, I was wondering if it was possible to AUTOMATICALLY fold the side view mirror when i off the engine, or lock the doors, and for them to automatically unfold when i start the engine or unlock the doors! Instead of manually turning the knob.
I went into the Menu, and there was an option under "locks .... ---> mirrors", and i selected sync. Does that have anything to do with my question?
Thirdly, The rain sensing wipers. I have to activate this by pulling the lever up ONE STEP to the intermittent mode right. I tested the rain sensing wipers with a bottle of water! and the sensor is at the rear view mirror. The question is that when i off the engine and leave the rain wipers under Mode ONE (one step up the lever from off) the car doesn't automatically activate the wipers if it rains. I have to push it down to off! then back to INTERMITTENT MODE! Is this normal?
I have a base model V6 Touareg. The passenger side view mirror doesn't tilt down in reverse (even with the mirror switch in the R position). Is there a VAG-COM setting to enable this feature?
View 1 RepliesWhen I shift to reverse, the side mirrors angle downwards automatically. The driver's side one squeaks when it does this. Any tip to remove the squeak.
I recently upgraded my puddle lamps to blue LEDs to match my interior lights and took the opportunity to spray a little bit of WD40 on the mechanism. I didn't use much, since the mirrors are basically friction fit I didn't think it wise to spray all over, but that didn't seem to make any difference.
The mirror still seems to move freely enough and nothing obvious is rubbing.
I have a 07 GS 350 and my side mirrors don't point down all the way in reverse than when I put it in drive the mirrors don't adjust to my preset.
View 4 RepliesWhen shifting from reverse to park or drive, the mirror tilts back up but not in the position it was prior. It is actually quite irritating because I would start driving and have to adjust the mirrors back to the desired setting. I've also just sat there and shifted from park -> reverse -> park and recalled the memory setting and I will see it make the adjustments.
