Looking for a DIY for removing the side mirror assembly? I have to replace the whole thing.

Santa Fe (DM - 2013+) :: Passenger Side Mirror Assembly Replacement
My daughter backed out of our garage and clipped the passenger side mirror assembly on our brand new 2017 Santa Fe. The casing on the assembly is broken where it hit our garage door track, but the camera, etc. works fine. I was quoted over 900 bucks to replace this part - 87620 4Z500 - and I'm assuming that is a quote for ALL of the parts of that assembly (guts and all). Everything works, and we'd just like to purchase the plastic casing, have it color matched and DIY. Is there anyway to do that?

How to remove the center (upper, right above the radio) dash vent assembly on an '04 Passat (I assume many other years would be similar). I have a rattle/squeek in there that I'd like to address. Sliding a credit card in between the vent/dash provides some improvement, so I'm thinking if I could get the assembly out and shim and/or lube it I might be able to resolve the problem.

There was some kind of accident somewhere that broke the turn signal in the drivers side mirror on my GX 460, 2012.
I have worked on other cars before and it has been easy, remove the screws holding the housing in place, and based on swell's site I can see the new signal bolts on.
However, I see the 4 Philips screws behind the physical mirror, and I can access 3 of them, but not the 4th. It seems I would need to remove the physical mirror and I cannot figure out how.

I got my spherical glass in and was all excited and ready for a 5 minute install, but no dice.
There is a youtube video that seems to remove the mirror in a manner consistent with what the mount on the back of the replacement looks like, but for the life of me, I can't find or see behind there enough to push in the arm that will release the mirror.
It just occurred to me that the little indent could be pushed or pulled depending on the mount. Looks like I'll need a hook like tool to test this theory. (The tool used in the video seems like it has a hook on it, but he's too darn fast).
