Passat (B6) :: Rev Limiter Kicking In At 5000 Rpm

I cannot go hard on the car bc no matter what gear i am in the rev limiter kicks in at 5000 rpm. it kicks the car back so hard that I am afraid to keep trying and testing it. it seems like every time i fix something, something else goes wrong.

Passat (B5) :: Electric Fan Not Kicking In

I just got this project running recently (replaced head after timing belt failure) and on the first night I got it running I noticed the electric fan was not kicking in (belt driven fan works fine). Investigated a bit and found the fan was some what seized. I was able to work it free quite easily so I chalked it up to corrosion from sitting.

fired it back up and let her get to operating temp and once again no fan. checked and it spins freely but never comes on. I did some checking and I (visually) cant find the plug, fan switch, or any fuses that deal with it... So I checked the bentley and it talks about a couple relays that have to do with it, but no fuses (at least that Ive found so far). Before I start tearing into wiring diagrams in the back of the bentley, I'm hoping some of y'all might have some input for me. Maybe some common faults, where to look, etc...

Car is a 2000 Passat 1.8T auto. Just had the head swapped due to TB failure which included waterpump, thermostat, fresh coolant, and all new belts.

Passat (B5) :: 1999 1.8t - Power Is Kicking In And Out When AC Turned On

A couple of times since the weather has warmed up, a strange situation occurred with this car.

Turn on the a/c...interior cools off normally. After a while being on though...presumably when the motor is nice and hot...the engine starts acting weird. The temp gauge is right where its supposed to be, but here's the symptoms.

Press the throttle to speed up..and the motor slows down stumbles real bad. let up and it returns to pretty normal idle. if you floor it to get past the 'stumble zone' mostly it works right, but it feels like power is kicking in and out, to the point where you want to pull over because you're not sure if the car is safe to drive.

I'm talking stumble like the motor is about to kill. like its ignoring the input to open the throttle. This car has the hard wired throttle cable, so it can't be anything with an electronic throttle. If we drive around and never turn on the a/c....the symptoms do not occur.

What to check for this? No check engine lights on other than the typical abs lights.

Passat (B5) :: Brakes Feel Like ABS Starts Kicking In When Come To A Complete Stop

Wierd new noise from my brakes - No issue when I press the pedal, and they work just fine. However just as I'm about to come to a complete stop the brakes feel like the ABS starts kicking in. I can make it not stop by lightly pumping the brakes but this can't be right. What it could be. I just had CV boot replace if that could have done something.

I got a Toyota Celica 2001 recently from my dad and when I put the throttle all the way to the grown it barley speeds up as if it has some kind of throttle limiter so I can't speed everything else is fine it's a manual I just can't give it gas if I want to speed up really fast or race whatever the case is. Golf IV / Jetta IV :: 2003 - Hit 7k RPMs In First Gear - Rev Limiter?

I was driving earlier and some dickhead wouldn't stop tailgating me. I brake checked him and he wouldn't back off so I got pissed and floored it. Didn't watch my rpms and I felt it give like I hit a rev limiter maybe? I'm hoping that's what it was, it was like an instant loss of power for a brief second. Just was curious that I didn't brake anything. Driving a 2003 Jetta 1.8t. Manual.

Intrepid :: 2001 Car Idles Around 1500-2000 RPM But Acts Like It Is Hitting Rev Limiter

My 2001 Intrepid ran good before I removed the intake air plenum. I removed the plenum to replace the air coolant bleeder. When the plenum was removed, I left the throttle body connected and just unhooked the wires from the idle air controller (IAC) and throttle position sensor (TPS). After reassembling the intake, the car was idling up around 4000-4500 RPM. The idle is really rough as though it is hitting a rev limiter.

When I unhook the TPS, the car idles around 1500-2000 RPM but still acts like it is hitting a rev limiter. What might be causing this? I don't know why lifting the plenum and throttle body would wreck either of the two sensors. I also can't figure out why the car idles so much lower when the TPS is unhooked. Would that suggest the TPS needs to be replaced? The throttle is operating freely and is fully closed when I'm attempting to start the car.

Ford Ranger / B-Series :: 2003 4.0 - Rev Limiter At 3000 RPM / AC Clutch Not Engaging?

So that's what if feels like, in park at idle it sounds great, starts great no codes. IF you floor it it will not go over 3000 rpms in park, it feels like it has hit a rev limiter. I have 60psi fuel pressure at idle and at 3000 rpm.

When driving down the road I won't go over 55 mph and drives normal if you keep it under 3000 rpm, if you give it more gas it falls on its face?

AC is not working (clutch not engaging)I don't know if that's related or not.

We did just swap the motor the truck is a 2003 2wd drive. motor came out of an 2002 4wd. we are running the 2wd harness, computer egr delete etc.

I have a 2001 F250 SD 4x4 5.4L . I purchased the truck used with about 120,000 miles on it. It runs great despite averaging about 10.8 mpg. Shortly after I got the truck, I noticed what I thought was an intermittent transmission issue when the trans would shift. I would get a "flare" that lasted briefly as if the trans was slipping, but it was accompanied by a sound that I'm not sure how to describe, but it was somewhat like hitting a rev limiter. It only happened when the transmission shifted. The fluid was clean and did not smell burnt. I assumed it was a misfire issue, even though it did not happen often, and seemed to only happen at shift points. I changed all of the plugs and all of the coil packs. It still does the exact same thing. Sometimes it only does it once every couple of days, and other times it may do it 3 or 4 times a day.

GTI 337/20th Anniversary :: 20AE Won't Rev Past 5000 RPM

I just test drove a pretty clean 20AE. It's mechanically sound, runs, drives fine. But, when I got on it, it revved strong... Up until 5000rpm, then flattened out hard. Almost like limp mode. Definitely seemed like something electronic, because it was very consistent.

Ford F-150 (2009-2014) :: 3.7L V6 Hesitates At 5000 RPM

If I were to gun it onto an on-ramp, I feel a slight hesitation around 5000 RPM. Once it goes past 5000 it will keep going to 7k, no problem.

I'm wondering if this is common, just the engine? or should I take it back to the dealership?

I just purchased this, used, two weekends ago (my first of many posts here) I love the truck, feel safe in it and it's HUGE! I just hope I don't already have an engine problem in it. The warranty is still good of course, so I would hope they can fix it if there is a problem.

How to get rid of this message? I was told by dealer it means it's time to rotate the tires. You can turn it off by reading the manual. I looked through the manual and maybe I am missing something. I can find the menu on the display button on the steering wheel, but nothing relating to this and it's hard to move around and looks like you could accidentally turn something on or off in there.

Golf V R32 :: Vibration Along With Sounding Exhaust When Go From 3000 - 5000 RPM

230 miles and I have one question. I'm braking in the R slowly and haven't really hit the RPM's in a crazy way but when I go from say 3000-5000 RPM I hear a vibration along with the nice sounding exhaust. It happens in each gear if i take it that high.

I'm thinking it's maybe a heat shield or something? Have any of you experienced this or maybe have heard of this symptom.

Other than this issue, the car is the bomb! My R is not numbered? Isn't the number on the steering wheel?

Sonata I45 (YF - 2011+) :: Oil Is Light Brown After 5000 Miles

I am following the 7,500 maintenance intervals for oil and filter changes. At about 3,000 miles the color of the oil was golden brown but definitely had started to turn brown but still had a golden tint. Is light brown oil normal for 5,000 miles? The oil level is OK and still near the Full mark.
