I have a sub in my passat facing the the back of the seats. When i pump up the volume the armrest rattles with the bass, really annoyed at this. Maybe the armrest needs to be opened up and filled with sponge type material. I dont mind loosing the cup holders.

View 14 RepliesDriving what was my wife's 2008 Prius, and for the most part the sound is adequate but I have a bass rattle in the doors and I'm wondering what's the best way to resolve it.
My source is my iPhone 6 via a Bluetooth add-on, and for the most part it is fine if i leave the iPhone volume level at Max minus 2-3 bars. But if the song is bass heavy and I have the JBL volume high, there is quite a bit of rattling vibration on the door (rattling panels, etc.), on all the doors.
Q: Is this something that can be resolved by adding a sub and rolling off the bass for the JBL speakers? Or does resolving it require more a sound deadening at the doors?
The speakers themselves are not rattling, but the door panels themselves are. What kind of cheap material did Toyota use on the Gen 5s to cause door 6x9s rattles on the panel when listening to bass heavy music
View 14 RepliesI have a 2007 Lexus GS 350 with the Mark Levinson audio system. I am starting to hear a sound from the passenger side door speaker like a rattling when there is low bass in a song. I wanted to know much it should cost me to have all the speakers replaced to higher quality ones.
I don't need crazy bass that will make my windows shatter, however currently these speakers feel like if I put any hip hop or dubstep on more speakers will blow. I do NOT want to have to cut any part of my car to install new speakers, I am not comfortable with someone cutting holes or making bigger holes to fix the new speakers.
I currently own a 2010 Toyota Corolla LE with around 30,000 miles. Recently, I noticed a bit of rattling from the passenger's head rest. At first, there was rattling when the head rest was up, but went away when I pushed it back down. Now, the rattling appeared again even with the headrest all the way down. I attempted to switch the actual head rest from the driver seat to the passenger seat, but the same problem is there. I'm guessing it's the actual seat which is holding the rods to the head rest? I also tapped both seats and the noise from inside the passenger seat sounded a lot loose.
View 3 RepliesYesterday I was driving home from a long road trip (1425 miles in 2 days) and I was listening to my stock radio/speakers. It was a bit chilly with the front windows down, but too warm with them up and I didn't want to turn on the a/c. (no specific reason. I just didn't want to). So I thought I would just open the back windows.
As soon as I did this, the radio bass was just shaking the whole car. It was nuts. I wasn't even listening to anything with a strong bass to it. I closed the windows, it went away. It was better when I turned off the super bass, but I found this odd. Especially since I see people put these large speaker boxes in the trunk.
Just a few days ago I noticed a new rattling sound from the rear shelf (2012 SEL). Showed it to the dealership a few days. They are going to have a look at it next week.
I tried pressing at various placed with my hand but could not pinpoint where it was coming from but it appeared to be somewhere from within the rear shelf on the driver side. Sounding like some loose plastic clanking against some metal.
Thought I'd share this since the car appears to have this recurring issue of rattling from various places.
On my way into work this morning, I started to notice a rattling sound coming from my left rear wheel. By the end of my :45 min drive, it was a loud continuous bang. After limping the car to my office, I inspected the recently repaired rear shock to find the bolts securing it to the vehicle were gone!
View 12 RepliesSo I have noticed a couple things about my stereo that puzzle me. I have the Dynaudio NAV system w/6 CD changer in the glove box.
1. I had the doors done with Dynamat and it definitely sounds better but the problem is that if I crank it I have to turn the Bass way down otherwise it distorts. Now correct me if I am wrong but shouldn't the amp and speakers be perfectly matched so this doesnt happen.
2. I have the AUX input button on, screen and I can select it but there is no jack in my glove box where all the literature says it is supposed to be. My VW/Audi service manager printed out a build sheet and it doesnt seem to be on there.
3IS owner. My mirror vibrates when I'm listening to bassy music and it's driving me crazy. My first gen IS's mirror didn't vibrate at all so I'm pretty unhappy being a 44k car's mirror vibrates. I took it to the dealership and they just tightened the bolt but it didn't do anything. Then they justified it saying that all the IS's in the lot did this. After the checkup the mirror got worse and vibrates on rough pavement now. I was just wondering if your guys' mirrors vibrate when listening to music?

Also I took car back to dealership because the rear speaker vibrates at the sound of music. I like this car but it doesnt seem to be built as well as the Sonata I had before it. more trips to the dealer.

They look like the front and rear end are wider than the rest of the vehicle aND sticks out farther. What this is or how to make my truck look like that? I assume it's some type of extensions for the front and rear end....

As stated in the title, I've been experiencing a creaking/groaning noise originating from the dead pedal/foot-rest area when I release the clutch as I'm accelerating from first gear. This happens more so when I'm accelerating from a stop on any sort of incline (irrespective of the grade) and primarily in the afternoon/early evening when the weather's at its warmest for the day.
The noise itself originated about a month ago. Although I describe it as a creaking/groaning it sometimes sounds like a slight metal on metal friction noise.
My car's stock with the exception of Driver Gear springs and a BSH 27mm sway bar in the rear. Wheels are OEM 16s. I've had the DG springs on my car for about 3 months before this noise began and mileage was around 9,900Km.
So I had put a 12 in. Subwoofer in a couple of months ago in my trunk, and on certain bass notes I get this rattling. I found out what it is, in the sedan version, it's the rear panel right below the back window and behind the seats. If I push it down have and inch or put some pressure it stops and everything sounds amazing! How to get it to stop?

View 6 RepliesI just recently purchased a 2006 Avalon Touring. Its been a week now and there has been a loud rattling sound in the rear end of the car. It begins to sound on low RPM, but as soon as i hit high velocity, the loud rattling goes away. Note, sometimes the whole car feels like it would shift to the right; when making a left or right turn. Little scary feels like it's about to flip over.
