took my car to the dealer to get a key programmed. Its a 2006 passat 2.0t 6speed auto. Anyway, they couldn't get the key to read and now I have a fault on my dash. "Immobilizer adjustment fault". How do I get rid of it?
View 1 RepliesAnyway my issue is, my car is turning over but wont start. I notice that it will only start when the yellow immobilizer light comes on and then goes off.
If I try to start when there is no immobilizer light it wont fire up.
I have to take out the key and wait 20 secs. When I turn back on the ignition and I see the yellow immobilizer light, I know it will start?? The immobilizer light goes out when the car starts. Whats up or should I continue what I'm doing...
I got a 2006 2.0t komfort. I started the car this morning and got an airbag fault show up on the dash and now the air bag light is on. What this is and the possible fix?

2000 Passat Wagon V6, 5sp
So i just bought my 2003 passat wagone gls 1.8tand it has this "STOP" "BRAKE FAULT" coming up on the dash display and the ABS light and traction control light is on steady and the BRAKE light is flashing....a code was ran for the speed sensor and that was replaced but the light is still on....what could it be?????
View 10 RepliesWell, I recently had the "Airbag Fault" error message (along with the wonderful amber airbag light) both appear on my dash, and oddly enough, I haven't hit anything or bumped anything or done anything that could cause this error. I drive a 2001 VW 1.8T and she only has 48,000 miles on her.
View 1 RepliesI just bought a 2nd hand late 2008 B6 Passat 1.9 TDI last week. All was going well until a couple of things started happening. I have a full 1 year warranty with the garage who I bought it off and they are linked to VW as well which works but what I need to know is can i get the recall work done on this and what is what withe faults below:
1st - Handbrake fault warning on the dash (only comes on in really bad wet weather?)
2nd - Owl Hoot when changing gear
3rd - car shake when idle
I've got a 2004 Golf 2.0 GL.....and for some reason this morning out of the blue when I tried to start the car to go to work it fired right up....and then about 1-2 seconds later immediately dies. I tried several times to start it....but every time it fired right up, then dies in a second or two. I also noticed that I'm getting the Immobilizer light on the dash....I'm guessing this is the problem.
Why would I get this all of a sudden? Did something happen to the chip in my key? Could the sensor in the steering column by bad? I don't want to have to load this thing on a trailer and take it to the dealership. Why would this happen out of the blue??
I have just purchased a 2000 Passat 1.8 mfg 2/29/2000. I have no keys. I will have to get keys made and want to know if they require special programming. Dealer said its on fence maybe maybe not. Depends on when built. Any other info about what to look for would be nice. I look forward to being able to contribute in the future. For now I'm a newbie.

When I read error codes I get an immobilizer error - 001299 Incorrect immobilizer key. Also P0513 - 008 - Implausible Signal - Intermittent.
View 3 RepliesWe just traded in our 91 passat for a 2004 passat. I am trying to program the factory garage door opener that is on the drivers side sun visor. I have read the manaul and cannot get it to program to my door. I tried holding down buttons 1&3 untill it flashes, Then hold down #1 Button and then the "learn" button on the opener (at the same time) then the remote will flah slow then fast when it has the code. Is it possable it will not work with a 6 year old Chraftsman opener?

I tried the method that everyone is talking about online, which is to turn the ignition to the "on" position with one key (w/o starting the car). Then put another key on the driver side door and turn to unlock position and hold until 3 beeps. I've held the key for over a minute and still don't hear any beeps. What am I doing wrong?
View 12 RepliesI have problem in my VW Passat v6 2002. When insert car key to turn on start Engine, The screen shows an error message: "immobil activated" That means: Immobilizer is activated! And after that car is auto turn off then the Engine shut down in one second with flashing key light! As the fuel tank is empty..
But When I try to start again after an hour / two hours it's works!! This situation comes up if the car was parked from last night until the moment of start on in the afternoon!!! What is strange that this problem does not occur only at the time of day warm, Between 5 and 11 o'clock in the afternoon hot days!!! Because this problem is not never happen in the evening and night.
I go to the Workshop for dellership Car Agency. They re-programmable keys, But the problem is still continuing.
I've searched and can only find instructions/details on 6.4L and older Super Duty trucks. The process is the same to adjust the gear box for a 6.7L?
View 5 RepliesGot a new 2008 F150 King Ranch. Great running truck with a lot of "stuff". But now the bad. Got about 5 blocks from the dealer and the tire comes on the dash. Sure enough the rear drivers side tire is getting low. 1st thought I'd load it with some Slime but decided to take it to a tire store as we found a screw stuck in the tread. Turns out the screw was too far out on the tread to be patched.
I bought a new tire instead of going after a plug kit and driving a few more miles before replacing all tires. Drove home. Went for a short drive today and now the TPMS fault is showing on the dash. Little yellow tire blinking. Finally got home and checked all the tires. The lowest was the front drivers side at about 38 PSI. So did the tire store mess up my TPMS system or is something else going on?
Truck was in shop 10K service on Thursday (4/7) and as soon as I started the truck on Friday I have the Air Bag/Seat Belt Pretension light on showing up in dash. The light is one but no MFI fault reported.
Why indicator light coming on just after service? I did not pick the truck up at the shop on Thursday so I cannot say if it was on immediately after 10K service. Shop asked me to drop the truck off Sunday night. Site Search came up with several items that could cause this malfunction.
After having the car "plugged in", it appears that one of the intake manifold swirl flaps isn't always returning to it's lower stop (fault P1018). The mechanic suggested that the actuator arm may be caked in debris, and that cleaning it and manually working it a few times should fix the problem?

View 3 RepliesMy 06 f150 v6 auto died on the way to work last night. It said trans fault on the dash. The trans has been shifting fine no slipping no hard shifts. The trans has 113k I replaced the motor and it has 57k. Both have been working great until last night. I plugged my scanner up it had a bunch of codes so I cleared them and done a koeo test and got 10 codes.

With the key in the on position the truck was showing 27.3 psi on fuel.
I got a check eng light and read the codes. Cam sensor, misfire 5 & 8. Replaced cam sensor. Got light twice more. Cam sensor. Cleared codes, now no light but, I lost bottom & mid range HP at a steady decline. Run like a scalded dog on top end. Replaced fuel filter on frame rail & air filter. No cure. Noticed dash dim when headlights turned on. Pulled pos battery cable engine died. Replaced alt old one tested good. Drove to parking spot no power damn near couldn't pull it self. Turned off wouldn't start. Before I turned off it would rev up perfect just no power to move. Had a camed up sound at an idle like a slight miss. No fault codes present. Ford claims crank sensor. Haven't replaced that yet. Have fuel in fuel rails. 10 coils could not have lost spark at once. Any part other than crank sensor?
