I am not sure what is going on but my passenger side floor has been sopping wet for the last couple weeks. Windows have been shut doors closed I am perplexed by this.

View 6 RepliesI have an 08 Accent hatchback, no sunroof. I am having water soaking the passenger floor board and getting into the heater fan. If I park on a side hill it actually drips out of the bottom of the fan motor, and you can hear it being sprayed inside it when going around a corner. Checked the windshield - seal is good, took off the cowling under it and everything was dry - including the filter for the fresh air, so it doesn't appear to be coming down through there. I even poured about 8 gallons of water down the windshield and into the run-off channel at the bottom of the windshield and nothing seemed to get into the fan or leak into car, however, by the time I drove it home 4 hours later, it was in the fan again. Is there some other way to for it to getting to the fan? It's not coming from the door side, as it is usually dry on that side when it first starts getting wet, but rather it stars from the left of the passenger foot well.
View 9 RepliesLast night it rained pretty hard. We were getting back into the gx and my wife ask me why the floor is wet. I thought maybe it was tracked in on our shoes. Well upon further investigating i noticed a stream coming down the inside of my dash by the obd2 connection and where your left shin would be. I pulled the scuff plates off and its flooded.
View 13 RepliesThe floor on the back drivers side of my 2001 Astra is absolutely soaking wet. It happened one day that my car was flooded with water in the back of the driver seat as well in the front to the pedals First the amount of water was big enough but after the sponge from the back of the passenger seat and the floor sponge that is underneath got soaked with water. Its impossible for me to squeeze the water from the sponge. Now its not leaking from nowhere its just the water that remained in the sponge. My question is how is that possible to find myself flooded with water only in the back and front of passenger seat. Its seems that all water came from the back of the driver seat on the floor. What should i expect next that is going to happen? is this going to damage my car in the near future?
View 6 RepliesI have a 2004 Sport Trac XLT (without sunroof). I recently noticed my rear driver side turn signal was out. Turns out i have quite a few cables corroded from within. The cables are warped together as one fat cable running from the front to the back along the driver side in a "tunnel".
The reason for corrosion seems to be that underneath the floor it's soaking wet. It's dryer towards the break and more wet closer to the mid console. (it may just dry quicker near the break.
The water does not smell of anything. We haven't had rain for a while and i would be surprised if it was rain that staid for so long. All in all that makes me suspect the AC.
I'd like to stop the leak and then replace the cables, at least the stretch where corrosion have occurred. How to troubleshoot this? I am using the car to commute so I can't rip it apart too much.
After it rains, the passenger side of my car fills up with water. I assume the drain wholes are clogged. Where they're located?
It is a 2007 2.0T FWD if that matters.....
My only car is a 2002 passat 1.8 .
I've had a water leak in the passenger side floor. This started when my sound system was installed. So I've been dealing with it. Vacuuming out the water and driving. Recently A LOT of water leaked in. Now the car won't start and the doors won't lock. I read about this issue before. What to do. The dealer wants to charge me $210 just to look at it and hook it to a machine. Then if the issue runs me more than a few hundred. That's just over budget. I need to fix this issue.
Is there a known issue with water getting into the passenger side(floor) of the Passat sedans? Is the leak due to the sunroof?
View 10 RepliesI have a 2004 Passat GLS and I've noticed from time to time (and again tonight) that there's water on the floor on the passenger side in the back row. There is a vent under that floor mat so I suspect it has something to do with it, but beyond that I'm stumped. I've only noticed standing water once, and that was after a heavy downpour. But tonight the mat is pretty wet and we haven't had rain for a while. I just dropped a ton of dough on new coils and plugs so I'm hoping this isn't anything serious.
View 12 RepliesWe have had 6-8 inches of rain in the last month. the last several days I have notice a lot of water in the passenger side floorboard as well as behind the seat. the headliner around the sunroof is also saturated on that side of the car. After several hours investigating and reading posts on this forum it is safe to say that the drain on that side is clogged. I am a new VW owner and am ignorant as to where the drains are at??? also, how to "rod" or unclog the drain line that runs down a or c pillar?
View 1 RepliesJust found out the passenger side is completely soak. I brought it in to a mechanic and he figure it was a sunroof clog. The ac water is coming out, but he poured like 2 bottles of water on the sunroof and only like a couple of drops came out. Should I be worried about getting wet under the passenger seat?
View 4 RepliesPassenger floor under the mat being incredibly wet. I believe that mine can be traced to the A/C Condensate.
1) Passenger side only
2) Doesn't smell like coolant
3) Hasn't rained here in quite a while and yet the floor was still soaked
Yesterday I set out to try and find a way to get this fixed. I tried clearing out the output on the firewall, I didn't check how hard air was flowing here before but after sending some pipe cleaners down there and starting the car with A/C on and the blower on high there was a considerable amount of air coming out of this "drain". I left the truck sitting for a while with the a/c on and didn't notice any water draining down into the passenger side, how rapidly will this happen? If left to sit while running is it possible to actually watch this start to drain inside or....?
For the past week the front passenger side floor of my 2000 Volvo S80 has been wet. Sometimes its sopping and other times it's just damp. I assume the water is coming from inside the car as the mat has a heavy rubber bottom, but I can't seem to find the source.
View 7 RepliesI've had a wet passenger side rear floor in my Accord for the past year now when I run the A/C. Two mechanics including a Honda dealership have told me the A/C drain is not plugged. One of them ran compressed air through the drain and it seemed to be better for about a week and then started again. How to investigate the matter further. The floor does not smell like coolant. It just feels like and smells like water.
View 8 RepliesJust noticed the passenger side floor has water frozen on carpet. There is no evidence of water on the sides or from the dash area. I reached under the car and I can see 2 holes, one of them is plugged with a rubber grommet/plug and the other I can stick my finger way up into it. My wife has been driving this in the rain a couple days last week.
Is that a possible source for the water getting in? Can I order a replacement plug if it fell out?
I just did read something about a "sealing cover" and I matched against the driver side and it does appear to be missing. Seems to be a round 40mm plug. I measured the driver side and plug is 40mm and the hole is more like 25mm. Is this the right part?
I just got this 07 GX470. I had it shipped here on the back of a truck, he drove through some snow storms apparently.
First thing I did was take it to a carwash. When I get to the dryer part (big blower motors at the end of the wash), my feet and my passenger's toes became soaked. I shined a light up under the dash and couldn't see anything wet. Everything else in the car appears dry as far as I can tell.
It's in the 40s here currently.
Why is the rug on the passenger side of my v10 egg wet. It would appear that it happens after heavy rain....blocked plug somewhere. Have also been using air conditioning alot.... Also could getting egg stuck deep in mud in the spring have anything to do with this...blocked plug?
View 2 RepliesOk I got the brake pull fixed (I think) on my 92 Ranger 4x2 4.0 extended cab. I still will have to change the driver's side brake hose for prevention and the driver's side caliper just so everything will be new. But it stops straight now with a new brake job, pass caliper and hose on. However, this other problem has been ongoing and it does it on my 1998 Ranger too. It's not the heater core.
I think the evaporator case is filling with water and dripping down under the carpet. So the drain tube must be stopped or the case must have a bunch of leaves stopping it up. But where is this tube you're suppose to check? I don't see a conventional drain tube I only see a blower motor vent tube that doesn't drain to the outside of the car anywhere. I know my 73 Charger has a rubber drain tube that comes out of the evaporator case and drains onto the ground. But where is this one on a Ranger or what else could it be? It's only the passenger side so it's got to be that.
So I got in to my car today to goto school and noticed it smelled kinda musky. I happened to look behind the passenger side seat and there was 3in. of water on the floor so i looked up at the sunroof and there wasn't any stains or anything from water as well as the doors windows everything... It's the strangest thing I've seen the only thing wet is on the floor...
View 4 Repliesi have a 2006 sonata v6 3.3 couple off days water in my radiator started to finish every morning I have to refill it again I haven't noticed any leaking near the engine or under the vehicle but when i drive around i noticed a steam is coming out of my air vent though the air condition is off and the temperatures of the engine rises when i tried to open the radiator cap it was already empty i checked around inside the car i have found the floor mat in the passenger side is wet
View 1 RepliesLeaks in passenger side floor during a big day of rain? my floor mat was SOAKED, and i think i its coming from some area going up on the right side of the glove compartment, doesn't look like its the door, but perhaps the corner outside where the windshield meets the hood? I also believe I may have leaky seals on my left rear window.
