View 7 RepliesI let my car sit for about a month and about a quart of oil leaked out of it. I drove the car and got the "low oil pressure" light and the STOP warning!. I refilled the engine with oil but now every 5 minutes or so i get the stop warning and then i turn the engine off. If I wait I can drive the car another 5 minutes or so before the warning light goes on. What could be wrong?
View 7 RepliesMy B5.5 is about to hit 110K and in the past 12 hours, the STOP! low oil pressure warning light has come on during a right hand turn. Is this an indication issue or a no oil pressure issue?
View 3 RepliesIs there a reset to the tire pressure warning light? I filled all 4 tires to recommended pressure and the light is still on.
View 3 RepliesI have a 2007 Passat Wlfsburg Edition with 4,300 miles on it. In the message center it stated "Tire Pressure Too Low!" There is also a tire yellow warning light lit. I checked the tire pressure. They were all at 30 psi. I inflated them to 33 psi as stated on the door jamb. The light and message are still there. I checked the owners manual and it doesn't say how to reset it or anything. What should I do?
View 24 RepliesSo tonight I'm driving on I-80 and all of a sudden I hear a thud, the TPMS light comes on and a warning of low tire pressure. I get out to take a lot and the rear left tire is practically flat. Changing the tire was pretty easy once I figured out where everything was in the tray.
So now I'm in the market for a replacement tire as there was a huge hole in tread. I have a about 3000 miles on the car. Would you get a replacement tire that is the same make/model as the rest of the tires, or would you simply get a cheaper replacement? Once I am ready to replace the rest of the tires, I'm not sure if I would replace them with the OEM make/model anyway. At the same time I'm not sure how long the OEM's will last.
I own a 2002 Passat 1.8T. The oil pressure light came on a few weeks ago and I took it in to be looked at. The oil pressure at idle and at 2000 rpm's was fine so they thought it might be the Oil Pressure Sender. Picked up the car and lo and behold, the light continued to come on. Took it back for service. This time the oil pressure levels were lower than spec so, they changed the Oil Pump, tested the pressure and all checked out to be within spec. 15 miles into my drive home, the light was on again. Not sure what to look at now. What to do next?
View 3 RepliesI currently have a MK5 Jetta and my wife's van lease is up. I'm looking at picking up a 2001 Wagon 1.8t and giving her the Jetta. It checks out real well, the only issue is the oil pressure warning comes on after about 5-10 minutes of driving. Turn the car off and back on it goes away. He changed the oil when he got it a couple weeks ago, and didn't change the filter, he's taking it to his shop to have it re-done, and he was going to drop the pan and check the screen and pick-up and such. Has this been an issue or what may cause this?
View 2 RepliesSo while driving my mom's 99 passat, after a few miles it gives six loud beeps, the BRAKE light comes on, the oil pressure warning light starts flashing, the ABS light flashes, and the tach sits at zero.
Brakes still work, havent tested ABS. there's no noticeable change in performance. I'm assuming this is the CCM and ABS modules on their last breaths.
The tire pressure warning light has been on in my car for about a week. The dashboard computer says that the tire pressure in the front right tire is 17 psi, but when I use the pressure gauge, the reading is almost 40 psi. Is this something I should be concerned about? What could be causing this problem?
View 16 RepliesMy wife has gotten this message twice in our 2013 Passat, 2.5L SE. Not sure the exact wording of the message, but something to the effect of "Stop engine low oil pressure". The first was about a couple months ago and then again this morning. Both times it was on for about a minute or less and then went off. Obviously, it is a serious issue if real. Both were cold mornings, it being winter and all. We've driven plenty of miles in between and no message and I've never seen it personally.
Oil level is good and we're probably only about 4000 miles since last oil change. Its just weird that the message goes away quickly and was about two months apart.
So i got my new wheels in July, disabled all the TPMS stuff via vagcom and have had no issues or lights.
Well Saturday I start my car and i have a tire pressure low warning lit up in the MFD (no TMPS light lit up just the words in the MFD)
Due to laziness i didn't check anything till today, had the warning every time i started the car
We have just started having cold nights, so I figured i check the PS anyway today and im at 22 PSI all around. Odd that i was notified with no TPMS.
I added air to 32 PSI all around and the warning stayed on until i left the car for about 30 min then the warning was gone.
I had this warning come on a couple of days ago on my 2008 VR6 with 46k miles on it. I wasn't surprised since the temperatures have finally dropped in Wisconsin and the car has not been driven much in the last month. I checked all the tires and they were at 30 PSI so I pumped them all up to 35 PSI, but the warning won't clear. The last time this happened a ride around the block cleared the warning.
View 9 RepliesSo I put the summer rims on the wife's B6 Wagon. Besides breaking out my VAGCOM and turning off this option. The error/warning light is getting annoying
View 12 RepliesI inherited a Passat wagon abt a month ago and I just got an Oil Pressure Low warning.
Long story short, took it to the mechanic said it was a sludge issue in the oil pick up and that he'll have to drop the oil pan to fix it.
Don't have that to give at this point.
I'm confident I can tackle it myself but I need a DIY guide or the Haynes repair manual to guide me along the way.
So back in the fall when the clocks needed changing, i changed the clock in the passat, and every so often i'll get in the car and its back an hour. i'll fix it, but then it goes back to being an hour behind. sometimes it takes a few days but it always gets behind an hour. I've tried researching this but found nothing.
When i installed my winter wheels (w/o sensors), the low pressure warning came on, so i disabled TPMS via VAGCOM. everything was fine for a few weeks, but now it says tire pressure too low constantly. I checked with my vagcom and the tpms is still unchecked in can gateway.
On a city drive <10 minutes I get the STOP Engine warning, and Low oil pressure. I pull over, and my dip stick is dry, NO OIL! My car is just over 20K miles, and we just had it in for the service less than 5 K miles ago. There was no visible oil leaks, nor was there a pool of oil in the driveway.
Had similar problem with my 02, but it had 90K miles.
Is this possibly related to the PCV issue I read in another thread? Or are my seals just leaking? I added oil to get home, and then threw in some stop leak - seal conditioner.
04 Passat GLX Wagon....
I drive a 2000 VW Passat 1.8T. The car has about 93K on it. One day I was driving downtown and my ENGINE OIL PRESSURE WARNING LIGHT COMES ON telling me low oil pressure STOP THE ENGINE before I could stop the engine the damn thing went dead and wouldn't start back, but it sounded like it wanted to start I never had this happen to me before so I got it towed to a VW dealership they were like I have never seen this happen before so they did what they normally do and came back and said that they cannot fine anything wrong and told me that they have a guy that comes in like twice a week and know everything about those type of car and he should know what the problem is?
View 12 RepliesI've changed the pressure switch 3 times now (1.4 bar, 1.4 bar, then 1 bar which is stock), checked oil pump, checked pressure with external gauge,..everything is fine. The light won't go away......what else could it be? It's usually an issue of pressure or the switch....certainly not for me.
View 5 RepliesLast night my tire pressure warning light came on. So this morning I checked them, and they are all above 37 psi, so might be a tad bit low, but nothing major. the manual also mentioned that light can come on if there is a sensor fault. Should I be concerned?
View 6 RepliesSo I'm having some problems with the oil pressure warning light beeping at me. First time it came on I stopped immeadietly, checked the oil and it was fine. (I just changed it when I got it) so I started it up again and it was fine for a few days. Then it came on again Real quick then went off. Now it comes on once or twice every trIp. I've replaced the switch already but it was still coming on so I installed an oil pressure gauge and I've confirmed my suspicions that the engine is indeed not loosing pressure. It sits at about 30ish at idle and goes up to aboit 50to 60 while driving 2-3k rpm. Yet the Damn oil light keeps blIbking. I'm assuming it has a wiring problem. Is there a way to shut this up or do I have to trace wires til I find the prob
