Just installed HID retrofit kit into OEM projectors and a malfunction light came right out..! Is it possible to remove the CELL with VAG-COM..? If not, what would be the best way to do it.
View 10 RepliesJust got the car back from dealer due to Engine Malfunction Light came on. They said they updated some software. Problem on the intake or something like that. But the display on the gear number disappeared. I phoned the dealer and they said that it's normal and cannot be fixed because of the update. It has 33km and so far no problems.

After doing some research online I noticed that there seems to be some issues with the coil packs on the 1.8's. Any other issues that this light is linked to?? And is the coil packs still very hard to get?

View 2 RepliesI have a 2003 B5.5 Passat and the Malfunction Indicator Light went off. I went to Autozone for a diagnostic and received the error code:
PO243- Turbo/Sup Wastegate solenoid A malfunction
I did a search but was unable to find out what this is.
I have been to the dealer 3 times so far because of something to do with the lighting system. The MFD says "AFS Inoperative" and the indicator light flashes for bulb failure or malfunction in the adaptive front lights system.
The dealer has replaced a bulb and power module thus far, but it hasn't fixed the malfunction. The indicator light and warning comes on 4 out of 5 times I drive the car and usually within the first few minutes of driving. It occurs with our without the lights on.
The lights do work at all times, but I don't think the adaptive steering/lighting is working when the error occurs.
I have an 07 Passat Wagon. The headlight malfunction indicator light came on for my passenger side low beam. I replaced the bulb, which was visibly burn out (broken filament), but with a new bulb in, the light still is not working and the malfunction indicator is still on. What is the cause of this? I have the regular headlamps, not the xenon lights.

View 6 RepliesI have a 2010 f250 XL v10 6 speed 4wd. I was looking into adding factory fog lights to it. I have the factory plug by the headlight. I've read that some XL trucks just need the fog lights, wiring harness for the lights and the headlight switch with the fog light option.
So today my buddy (has an 09 f250 xlt with factory fog lights) and I decided to try his headlight switch in my truck to see if it would send power to the plug by the headlight. Plugged it in, turned the fog lights on and had no power. Actually the little fog light light on the switch didn't light up that I noticed either. So we compared wiring harnesses going to the headlight switch. Both trucks have 9 wires. #21 fuse in the kick panel is intact and good.
What else my truck would need in order to use the factory fog light parts? I know I could run new wiring and use an aftermarket switch but I'd rather it be factory.
Installed an RNS-510 in my 2006 Passat, and this morning, I could tell my battery was nearly completely drained. Also, I know the unit is receiving constant power because it never "boots up" even after leaving the car turned off for a while. Usually, it should completely shut off after the car is off for ~30 minutes.
I guess I need to update my CAN module. What is an updated CAN that will work, and where this is located on my 2006 Passat?
I have a 2001.5 Passat with a TIP and an upsolute chip. I was wondering if there are any write ups with pictures on how to install a boost gauge. I'm having trouble finding where to put one as well as where to T off and get pressure from.
View 6 RepliesI just installed a Prosport Boost Meter in my automatic B5. Pics included of the vac line I spliced into and everything. The meter works perfectly fine (though I'm not boosting as much as I'd like ).
I've noticed a decrease in my idling RPM and when I let off the accelerator and come to a stop, my RPMS drop incredibly low, to about 600, and recover to my new normal idle of about 900.
Any explanation for this or things I should be worried about, or is that just the nature of the beast?
How do u remove and install the turn signals in the mirror?
View 6 RepliesSo I recently purchased a used Megan Racing 2.5" downpipe off a fellow Vortexer. Today I installed the downpipe and straight race pipe. After installing, my brother and I noticed a grayish smoke coming from the engine bay. Further looking revealed the smoke seems to be coming from the flex pipe mesh on the downpipe. What could be causing this??
Downpipe does not have a lot of mileage. No leaks. Brand new VW gasket was installed between the turbo and downpipe. Smell of smoke does not seem to be oil burning - seems more like a metal/gasket burning smell. Grayish color from what we could tell at night. Turbo still spools. No lights on dash.

View 15 RepliesJust installed a debadged grill on my 08 Passat VR6 from ECS tuning. I didn't realize that the radar for the adaptive cruise was right behind the VW emblem on the original grill. The ACC still works but not like it should...seems like it works normally sometime and sometimes doesn't. Any solution besides putting the old grill back on??? I wouldn't think the few spokes in the badgeless one would affect the radar since the emblem used to be in front of it. My Park Assist sensors are not functioning properly either but I think I can resolve that issue by adjusting there location a bit...

View 1 RepliesOk, so I installed my euro cupholder today, and I love it. Simple, yet so pleasing! So just for those interested in possibly installing one, but worried about the work, I'm not MKVI inclined whatsoever, so I figured if it would take someone who knows their car well an hour and half, it'd take me 2 and a quarter. I went slowly and as I took the console apart, I meticulously cleaned all the crevices and it only took about 1.5 hours, and that was with some re-fittting and tweaking to make sure everything was perfect. So with my first dive into takng apart the car, it was fairly painless and I love the outcome....except:
For some reason I get an Airbag Error and a warning light. The passenger light works well and goes off with a passenger in thier seat, like its supposed to. I only unplugged, then replugged in 5 things: Passenger Airbag on/ off light, ESP on / off button, 12 V power, Light for shifter (auto), and I Pod (well just an aux line in).
This happened to me, my tires are aired up to 40 all around. Does the light comes on if wheels are out of alignment?.
View 4 RepliesI put a double DIN unit in my 98 F150 and now the airbag light is no. N o flashing either. Turn the key on, nothing, start the engine, Airbag light. I've got the dash apart but I'm not seeing anything that I may have disconnected.
View 8 RepliesLicense plate light comes on when any door opens? it fades out a little after it's shut. stays on for a minute or so. (like interior lights would if i had the door dome switch on).
Any way to turn this license plate light off for this function? stays on if the hatch is open, or any door. I car camp a lot and crack the hatch for air. license plate light stays on.
Also the lower door lights, when they are individually open. I'd like them to not come on. Yes I could just remove those bulbs.
I had installed led lights on the whole car/ every bulb inside and out. even fog lights. i didn't replace the hid headlights, though I'd like to.
