I have 2 b6 passats. Both of them are rattle free except for this clicking noise that is all the time and loud from the glove box. It does it any time the car moves or hits a bump. If you put the slightest touch on the glove box, the noise stops. If you open the glove box, the noise is still there.
View 2 Replies06 GS430 has started making this loud clicking noise when we start the car ... not all the time but very often ... it almost sounds like a jackhammer and is extremely loud. Goes on for a good 20-30 seconds then goes away.
The location sounds like it is coming from the glove box area but not really behind it, more below and behind it..
My G6 is in great condition, except that starting a few or two ago a relatively loud clicking noise (one or two clicks per second) from behind the glove compartment started up once I turn on the engine. The weird thing I've noticed is when and how often it happens. 25% of the time it doesn't click at all when you start it. No matter what, if you drive at least 30 minutes it'll stop. And finally, the clicking only happens when the defroster is on; if you turn on normal heat and press the air recirculator, it stops immediately.
View 3 RepliesI hear clicking noise on my 2006 vw passat 2.0 T. The noise comes from the passenger side, sounds like it coming from under the glove department, but i cannot be exactly sure. It does clicking when i start the engine and after a minute it clicks .. ( about 5-6 clicks. not very loud but you can hear them. )
Also the clicking noise appears when I drive ... but it's hard to hear, and when i slow down or when i"m at the complete stop. It does not appears all the time, but randomly happens.
I haven't had my 06 Passat long, but I noticed today that, when the fan is on high, there is a loud air-rushing sound coming from the glove box. I know the glove box has a little port to let in cool air (I guess to keep your owners manual cool), and when I open the glovebox I can feel a square hole with air rushing out.
I am guessing there is probably some gasket that seals the glove box to this vent hold when its closed, and its most likely not sealing correctly.
I'm getting a loud clicking noise on my front passenger side around the wheel or axle. Once I press on the accelerator it starts. It goes faster and faster as the speed of the car increases.

View 1 RepliesI just purchased an 05 cavalier and today a loud clicking noise started right down by the glove box. I have full a/c and heat. If I turn the climate control to recirculate the clicking stops. But now the orange engine light is on. I've heard it could be the blend door actuator from what I've read online. Would this cause the engine light to come on? The code reading from autozone was coolant leak/coolant low/thermostat something along those lines. But the engine light came on 3 hrs after the clicking started so I am thinking it's related.
Oh also (the clicking stops after the car warms up a bit)? I would love to just buy the part online and have a small place replace part. I cannot afford hundreds of dollars in labor. If that is the right part does the dash need to come out in an 05 Cavalier or can it be gotten to under the glove box?
Whenever I start my car, there is about 20 seconds of loud grinding coming from the glove box. It's sort of a tak-tak-tak-grrr-tak-tak-tak-grrr over and over. I've opened the glove box and noticed that with each start, the Navi box spits out the DVD, makes an awful grinding noise, then self-reinserts the navi DVD. I'm guessing this isn't normal, as it jars the normally whisper-smooth operation of my Phaeton. Is there an easy fix, or is this something to take the car into the dealer for? It would my first time taking it in for anything.
View 5 RepliesI have a 2002 Hyundai Santa Fe v6. I've had problems with the air conditioning in that it blows hot. Paid around 900 bucks to have a new compressor installed because the mechanic said that would fix it but it didn't. That was about 8 months ago. Still blowing strong but no cold air. About two weeks ago I took the car to a different mechanic who told me it needs a new compressor which would be 900 bucks. I declined that but had the guy do a little work on the breaks. He put new rotors and pads on the front brakes two weeks ago. Now within the past couple days when I start the car up it makes an extremely loud nasty grinding type of sound for a couple seconds then stops. Oil is fine and new. It happened this morning long enough for me to look under the hood and see the fans looked like they were fine, and the loud grinding noise seems to be coming from behind the glove box. It hasn't broke down on me yet, it's just really obnoxious and embarrassing with all the noise every morning.
View 8 RepliesThe code was P040 which said is for the EGR system so I removed the EGR valve. It was completely plugged in the top section. I cleaned it out and cleaned out the ends of the EGR coolers then vacuumed the port out and reinstalled the valve and removed battery cables for 2 minutes to remove old check engine light codes . I drove it for 50 miles and it runs fine now and the check engine light did not come on. It still has a loud ticking noise behind the glove box which I read can be the blend door relay so I will try to pinpoint exactly what is making the noise as soon as I figure out how to get the glove box door off.

But when i open the door the glove boxes starts making a clicking noise ? it happened once before and once i pushed it down a little drive way everything turned back on ? First I thought it was the RSB but now it sounds like it's coming from the front of the car. I'm thinking it could be either motor mounts or tie rod. The car has 37K miles. I just can't seem to pinpoint where the noise is coming from yet.

The other morning when i started the car, i heard 3 short clicking noises come from the dash area. it did it again randomly in single clicks while driving. This morning, it did it again. I shut the hvac off, turned it on again, and i get one loud click. of and on a few more times produced the same results. went for breakfast, shut the car off, leaving the hvac on. when i started the car, i got the 3 loud clicks again.
I hadn't driven my car for nearly a month and when I returned I noticed a rather loud "clunking" noise when moving the A/T out of park. The sound is coming from the steering column and is quite pronounced. Is it normal?
I am also hearing a sound something like a bad wheel-bearing while accelerating that I never heard before. It sounds like it's coming from the front end of the car.
When I hit bumps, yank to the left, or go above a certain speed my steering wheel will start shaking and a loud clicking noise happens.

This is with the AC running. That wheel spin and loud click (it's a lot louder in person) is starting to annoying me. When I am sitting in traffic or at lights and I have the AC running the noise is very noticible in the cab. If the AC is off the idle settles down and the click goes away. So what causes this - AC compressor going out? It needs lube? Freon?
I Have a 2002 Trailblazer and when i turn on the rear A/C there is a loud clicking sound coming from the back of the truck. It is on the passenger side up by the interior light in the third row. If i turn off the Rear A/C or turn the knob and have both the overhead and the feet blow out it does not click.
