View 1 RepliesHow do I remove the drivers door exterior pillar panel from a 2007 vw passat. I have a dent in the panel and want to replace it..........
View 3 RepliesI was wondering how to remove the 4 air vents in the dash. I am planning on adding some LEDs into them?.... Any special tools needed?
View 1 RepliesI just picked up my 2013 Passat and was out driving this evening and tried to dim the interior lights. The dimmer toggle to the left of the cluster doesn't work.
View 6 RepliesThe last month or so, I have noticed that my dash board lights (red lights) and my actual interior lights that come on when you open the doors to vehicle will flicker sometimes...And it can get bad I guess and annoying. It's more of it pulsating really. I noticed today while driving home and I had the radio on loud it was doing it and I do not know if was just in my head that it was doing it more when the radio was loud or what, but this is ridiculous.
View 3 RepliesI've got a 2003 camry LE/V6. The interior trim fabric to the right and left of the rear window is curling back on the trim panel away from the glass. This has been happening slowly over a year or so and now has reached a point of requiring repair. I've searched the site, but haven't found anything directly related. These panels appear to be separate from the headliner and the rear window shelf. How these panels come out? If these snap into clips and can be removed, I might be able to match fabric closely enough to be OK.
View 2 RepliesStarting to build up some confidence to do my auto dim mirror install myself. How do you remove the A pillar on the driver's side? Is it difficult to do?
Also, in the manual, it says there's a fuse box under the driver side instruments... how do you get to that? Looks like there's a cover to remove?
How to remove the center (upper, right above the radio) dash vent assembly on an '04 Passat (I assume many other years would be similar). I have a rattle/squeek in there that I'd like to address. Sliding a credit card in between the vent/dash provides some improvement, so I'm thinking if I could get the assembly out and shim and/or lube it I might be able to resolve the problem.
View 2 RepliesEvery two or three starts in the morning i will get a strange rumbling noise from under my dash on the passenger side of the interior. what would be making this noise? What is located under the dash between the passenger compartment and the firewall? i have opened my hood to investigate but do not see anything under there that would make the noise. it almost sounds like the auto leveling compressors that are on some GM vehicles but i know this car does not have that feature.
View 3 RepliesI removed my front seats to steam clean the carpets. After replacement, I get a "Air Bag Fault" warning on the dash. Is that something I can reset?
2000 Passat Wagon V6, 5sp
How to remove the plastic dash trim on the Passenger side? Is there a way to do this without removing the glovebox? I know there is one screw that needs to be removed. Mine creaks pretty badly. Ive already removed the center console trim and added felt to all those pieces. No more ticks/ creaks.
I guess I could have the dealer remove it but I dont want them taking my glovebox out to do it = more rattles. Why does VW make it so difficult to remove something that should be so simple!!
Looking for a wiring diagram for the interior lights? 2004 EB.
Gotta chase down the problem, no interior lights coming on, switch or gem...
Where I can find a wiring diagram of the inside and outside lights on the 6.0s? I'm trying to wire up my running boars lights to my dome lights and tail lights but don't know the colors or locations of the wires. The tail lights wouldn't be as hard to find as the dome lights, what is the location and color of both.
View 14 RepliesI have a 2004.5 Gli that I'm getting really excited to fix. First question as a Noob how many miles can I get out of the engine with regular up keep. It has 140k? I just had the timing belt and water pump done and it feels great but i dont want to get into a huge money sandpit.
There is water getting in when it rains which has caused the liner to lift off of the A pillar and the B pillar gets moist as well. No damage to the head liner at all just the pillars and the door liner has gotten damaged and lifted. I've already checked the the sun room drains/drain nipples they work great.
I have to get the front end fixed- New valance and paint. I'm sure this will have to wait till next summer so i can save the funds to have a good paint job/blend of the hood and fenders. Plus my driver side door needs a touch up after being keyed.
After searching the forum all day yesterday i found the color code for the rc's and was going to get them powder coated due to curb rash and really bad chips. But is the oem brilliant silver color the best for the Grey metallic color GLi?
Obviously I am wanting to first work on the exterior aesthetics of the car first. Engine performance is fine, I am not a heavy footed driver on the streets and on the hwy it does fine at 90. But I do see a chip and FMIC in the next year being a possibility.
I have searched and cannot find a fues diagram for inside and under hood of my 2012 TDI Golf. Blows my mind that manufacturers don't include these in the manuals anymore!
View 1 RepliesI attempted to remove a 7.5 amp fuse from the interior panel under the dash on the left side. Using the fuse removal tool in from the fuse block under the hood, I grabbed one and worked it out slowly.
When I got it out, the metal prongs were broken off of the plastic housing. I thought this was weird and looked into the fuse block trying to see if I can see the prongs. No luck!
I attempted to pull another fuse to see if it will come out and sure enough, the metal prongs are broken off in the fuse block. I tried again to see if I could see the the prongs but again, no luck!
I put the plastic housing (top half of the fuse) back into the slot and the electronics for that fuse is working. However, I am concerned that something is wrong and causing the fuses to break when attempting to pull them out.
My dash light fuse blew. I checked with a meter and I have a short to ground somewhere in the wiring for the lights. Everything else seems to be working fine.
Is there a copy of the wiring diagram somewhere?
I have the big ford shop manual but I't doesn't have any diagrams. (might be missing pages, I got it off Ebay and the index is missing T-Z).
I have the Haynes but it doesn't have the diagram for the dash lights.
The power port in my dash went out. The diagram I got off the internet says fuse #39 or 41. Both are good. Where else should I look?
View 1 RepliesI'm having an annoying intermittent squeak that seems to be behind the driver's side seatbelt adjustment tab. When I press hard against the area it seems to go away or is diminished. It's an '07, still under warranty.
View 4 RepliesMy drivers side blade knocks against the pillar. I read on one of the UK forums about some adjustments that can be made, but can't figure out what the adjustments are.
My blades look like they're seated ok, so I'm not sure what to adjust.
Spring is finally here and it's time to resolve the creaking issue. My check engine light came on yesterday so I am going to take this time to go after the B-Pillar creaks as well.
As many of you know, I really like this car, but how to get this resolved.
