View 1 RepliesOk, I can live with little things like the drivers side pillar not being completed seated and flush, or the drivers seat rocking a little from time to time.
But the thing that annoys me the most is the center console armrest lid squeaking every time you lean against it. I drove 3 SFS's before I bought mine. All of them squeaked.
Any fix for this to stop it from squeaking? Besides going to the dealer and getting the run around.
How do you remove the armrest storage part of the center console? Ive undone the two screws by the shifter and the whole thing shakes but it doesn't come out...
2011 se by the way.
This morning I opened my center console armrest to tuck the iPod cord back in, when I went to lower the armrest it only dropped about 1/5th the total amount it would need to close. I fooled with it for long enough to know If I continue to apply more pressure something is going to break. The movement it has is smooth until the point it abruptly stops. I checked the owners manual with no luck, called the dealer service center which came up empty handed as well.
View 8 RepliesSince I purchased my 2010 Prius about a week ago the center console top never slid completely forward. It slides to about where the cup holder insert is and stops. I've taken the cup holder out and it still stops in the same spot.
View 19 RepliesI have the 60/40 seat with fold down "jump seat" that has the 2 cup holders and console. In the down position, it squeaks something fierce on any kind of a bumpy/rough surface. On paved roads it's fine.
View 11 RepliesI want to change my B5 center console for a B5.5 one. I've heard that I have to change the handbrake handle too, is this a direct swap?
Anything else I have to be aware of? (besides that the fuel door button have to be relocated).
Having rattle on the right side of the center console? If so, did the dealership fix it or did you perform a DIY fix? The dealership said they tightened something a few weeks ago, which worked initially, but it is squeaking again. If I press against it with my hand (or have a passenger press their leg against it), the rattle goes away.

On a trip I managed to pop both the fuse in the rear of my 07 B6 Variant and also the one in the rear of the center console. Checking the manual indicates a 20A fuse in both position 33 and 35 in the right hand fuse panel. Following the numbering scheme in the manual there were no fuses of that value there.
What are the correct position numbers. Also following the other threads my power outlets were switched with the ignition.
They use to come and go now they're just gone. The cd player and everything lights up but the a/c quit all together last night.
View 14 RepliesThe middle console that serve as a little box...very similar to the one in my 06 Sonata. In my Sonata it makes no squeaks of any sort.
Before I dump a gallon of wd-40 on this puppy, is there any remedy for this? It makes a little annoying squeak.
My first initial thought is to lightly lubricate the hinge that makes it go up and down.
I need to do various jobs concerning my center console (I need to change ashtray bulb!!). How to remove it, I've been told to start from the back (removing rear ashtray and cupholder).
View 2 RepliesI flipped my center arm rest open (2-button version in a V8) and it just is stuck in the open position now.
View 2 RepliesI have a 2007 Sonata Limited and the Center Armrest Latch (uppper/lower) is broken. I ordered the parts but the seller cancelled the order saying it does not fit my car. Do I have to buy the whole armrest ?
View 4 RepliesDue to the way the armrest slides back to reveal the cup holder and then tilts it is hitting my sons legs while he is sitting in the rear seats. Cant quite see the logic in the design of this as when its slid back there is like 10 cm space between the back of the armrest and the rear seat. The design on our old 2007 was much better. No slide, just tilt. I know that my 3 boys in the back will find some way to damage it while its slid back or tilted back plus I dont really want my sons legs to be cut off in a potential accident. So my question is, how to successfully modify it to stop the slide and allow it just to tilt?
View 19 RepliesIs there some sort of fix for this?
You know, you get in the truck and lean on the center "arm rest" to get better situated. After a while the constant abuse brakes something and now the armrest is now floppy
FYI, this in an 04 crewcab F350
I have a 2000 b 4000 broken armrest trying everything to fix keeps breaking on plastic below. And how long before it breaks again!!! Ford ....
View 3 RepliesI'm going to be hard wiring a protech cell phone mount at the center vents. I'd like to run a clean install, and ideally tap into the existing 12v socket next to the shifter. It looks like I'll need to take a fair amount apart.
View 2 RepliesThe top half of my center console will not close and it appears a piece of metal broke loose from the locking mechanism. (See photos) ....
I have two questions. Is this one of those wear and tear items not covered under the warranty? (I have 13 months left on the OEM warranty). If it is not covered, do I have to replace the whole console or is there a separate part I can buy to fix it myself.
My wife spilled some cola from the cup holders in the center console and it got into the Hi/Low range rotary switch and the stability control button. Now the button and switch are all sticky and barely work. Looking for instructions on how to take the center console apart so I can get to those switches and wash them out with alcohol or something to get them working again...
