I own a Passat-07, i need to change the window lift switch on the driver's door. The black color on it has fall of.
My question is how to remove the cover ( so i change the switch. Can't see any screws or clips.
I have to repair or replace my rear window wiper/washer unit.
How do I remove the trim inside the lift gate? I saw two screws and removed them, but it's still being held in place. Is it near the indented handes? There seems to be little square plastic screw covers in there. I couldn't remove them (I was on the road) and didn't want to hack them if they weren't.
I have an 02 Passat with a passenger side window motor problem. The window works fine from the drivers side and will go up using the pass. side switch, but it will not go down. It makes a clicking noise each time I press the switch and the window sort of acts like it wants to move down. I took the door panel off and checked the switch and the wires going to the motor and every thing looked ok. I checked the switch with a multimeter and it appears to be ok. What else I can check?

Today I tried to open that window and the window wouldn't open from my console or from the rear passenger side switch.
I recently installed replacement speakers in the two rear passenger doors in my 2014 Passat. During the installation the power window switches broke. How difficult is the replacement. I have been looking for a video or tutorial on how to potentially fix this myself. The dealership wants 165.00 a door to fix.
View 1 RepliesI have a 97 xlt fully loaded. Have been noticing once and a while the battery drained enough not to start. Have been attributing it to my son not turning off the dvd player in the back. I was wrong. Went out this evening to pick up company van, and the truck was dead. When i reached in to unlock the door, i accidently pushed on the power window switch and the window rolled out....key was not in the ignition. It quit when I opened the door.
View 1 RepliesI took my wife's 2010 tig for a drive after washing it this morning and noticed water on the rear window so I turned on the rear wiper. Well, to my dismay, the wiper didn't clean the water off because it was on the inside. I noticed water streaks on the inside part of the rear window a few weeks ago but I figured it was from condensation. It wasn't one or 2 drops, it was leaking down across the whole back window. I assume it is a seal but wanted to see if this is an identified issue.

View 5 RepliesI have a 2007 F150 XL that has the power windows and locks, I have the sensor on the dash for the auto headlights so I'm curious if I just need the auto headlight switch for this to work on my truck. I need to remove the headlight switch so I can try to connect the DB/OG and the DB/WH wires to see if this will make the circuit complete for the auto headlights. Anyway, I don't have a manual. How to remove the switch so I can get at the wires?

The side window scraper/guides along the bottom of the window door frames do not remove any due/fog from the outside of the car when the window is rolled up and down to clear it.
View 2 RepliesI got a new headlamp switch for my 2016 SD. I have the XL work truck with no fog lights. I recently added fog lights and an OEM fog light wire harness. I also got an OEM switch that pulls out to activate the fig lights because the stock switch in my truck operates the headlamps only. What I can't figure out is how to remove the switch.

I have a 2001 Ford Explorer Sport, and to remove the rear passenger window. The car is a two door, and the passenger windows are the smaller "flap" out style. I was able to remove the two torx screws on the hinge itself, but the glass portion is held in some sort of bracket, and I'm having trouble removing that.

Okay, first issue, car accelerates smoothly, and holds interstate speed just fine. BUT, when you lift off the throttle at speed, you get a shimmy-shake out of the front suspension like the tires are suddenly out of balance. Back on the skinny pedal, smooths back out. Never touching the brakes during this whole cycle.
Second issue is what I found tucked into the rear storage compartment with the first aid symbol. No first aid kit (should there be one?) but two extra quarts of oil. 10W-30, uh, dino oil. Not synthetic. I got no maintenance records other than a copy of the repair invoice for the head work, so I'm not sure what oil was used in regular oil changes, but at least the "top-off" quarts are not the right stuff. Should I be overly concerned? Should I immediately do an oil change to Mobil 1 like I was planning? What about some kind of engine flush?
I recently noticed that one of my windows doesn't go all the way down when I use the switch. I try auto down as well as holding the switch down until the window reaches the bottom, but no matter what, the window won't go down as far as the others.

View 20 RepliesSo today i start my car and the idle was funny for a few seconds, checked to make sure there were no vacuum leaks, everything seemed fine. Then im sitting with the car in park waiting for someone and I feel the funny idle again. It stops then i notice only the light in the window switch blinks on and off about 2 times then the funny idle again.....normal for a minute blinkity blink funny idle....see a pattern. I noticed for the past 2 days the auto down for the pass. window doesnt work either. I wonder if they're related. It hasn't happened again but i haven't drove it much since that happened. Im going out now so when i get back ill update. Ill scan it on monday to see if it threw any codes.
View 6 RepliesIts strange but since the other day the rear right window comes down sporadically when I push the window button on the driver console. When it does come down I am able to get it back up but when it closes all the way thats when it doesn't want to come back down. There is a tree sap problem where I live that gets all over the car. I'm wondering if the sap particles are having an effect on the ability to lower the window. When the window is stuck all the way up I can hear the motor in the door.
