How do I remove the trim that's around the pull handle and the lock/unlock button? Not the trim by your belly that has window buttons but the ones that are near your side mirrors. Mine are scuffed to poop and I would like to replace the trim and the lock/unlock buttons.
View 1 RepliesJust replace both ebrake cables, and rear brakes are all new including wheel cylinders and drums. No matter how much i pull up on the handle, the wheels wont lock up, and they should drag the wheels, but nothing. Something wrong? Barely stops car when put in drive too. Seems like my other accent would drag the wheels all over the place.

View 9 RepliesLast week out of the blue, the lock/unlock button the driver's side door stopped working altogether. It's not stuck, as I can definitely feel it click when pressed. Also, the passenger side button works just fine. This is very annoying after spending a year without ever having to use the actual key fob.

View 3 RepliesWife just called with a weird one. She said the doors won't lock - using either the key fob or using the door lock/unlock button on the car interior. They will lock, and then immediately unlock. Won't stay locked.
Since the car isn't here, I'm shooting in the dark, but I'm having her check:
Make sure all doors are properly closed/latched. Push a button on the key fob to see if the LED lights up (I changed batteries a year ago).
Couple of searches showed up:
Potential issue with lights on when car is turned off (never had this issue before). Someone mentioned a switch below the dash to right of steering column.
I'm in process of changing my interior trim, had removed already all trim from dashboard etc. but can't figure out how remove trim around gear gaiter, trim with ESP and Autohold. Pulled really hard, nothing happens, don't want to break it.

I have noticed that when I use my keyless entry button to unlock and lock the car, its not as loud as it was in the past. My key fobs all have new batteries in them (2 kays for the car). Could this mean that I need a battery soon? When I first got the car, the "beep beep" noise from when you lock and unlock the car was louder, now you can barely hear it.
View 2 RepliesStrange problem. 2006 4 door Camry. Only the drivers door unlocks when using remote or the unlock button on the door panel. The three other door have to unlocked manually. All 4 doors lock with the remote or the button on the drivers door normally. Not sure if this is a door switch problem or a remote problems or how to further isolate this?
View 8 RepliesLock/unlock button on door handle failed? Over the past couple of weeks mine has iced up a couple of times. I'm pretty sure water is getting behind the button and freezing. Now it seems like the button only works intermittently, and it definitely has a spongy feel to it when you press it. Off to the dealer I guess. Though if it's because of ice it's probably going to fail every year.....

What i'm trying to do is get the chrome to black but cannot figure out a safe way to remove them to either wrap in black vinyl, paint or just replace with black strips. First I would like to fix the door locks. passenger side front, it makes a noise when i hit the lock/unlock button, but doesn't move. Hoping it is the actuator but wanted to make sure first. Is the actuator the first culprit to fix? I guess, How do i know it is the actuator? Wanna order them from rockauto soon. I've researched on here door actuators, looks pretty simple.

View 1 RepliesIs it just me experiencing this weird behavior...When I open my doors with the key fob, I pull the handle and the door doesnt open. It does open a little bit, but its still latched closed. Pulling the handle again opens the door.
