It's under the hood or inside the car

View 2 RepliesYesterday the horn on my 2007 Passat has stopped working completely. I have read the owner's manual from cover to cover and the fuse for the horn is not listed anywhere in any of the fuse diagrams - either for the engine compartment cover, or on the fuses listed in the interior by the driver's side.
In addition the MFD steering wheel controls have also stopped working, and there is also no night time illumination on those buttons. I'm guessing as these are also located on the steering wheel that the two problems might be linked. I can live without the MFD controls, but the horn is a safety issue.
I'm also getting an airbag fault which I'm guessing may be coming from the steering wheel sensor since nothing else is working on the steering wheel. Maybe a wiring harness or something?
View 2 RepliesI own an '07 Wolfsburg with steering wheel controls. Sometimes they work, sometimes they don't. When I'm in the car are they're not working, they eventually activate on and stay on.
View 1 RepliesIs there a fuse or some thing? Can I rig it?
View 6 RepliesHeadlights work, done and door lights also work. Radio, door locks, and window controls do not. Car will no longer start and it doesn't seem to be the battery or starter, but I may be mistaken.
View 2 RepliesThe steering wheel controls, horn and cruise control recently died in our '08 wagon. The fact that they went out suddenly and simultaneously suggests that they might be tied to a fuse. I looked around the intarwebs via google and saw some references to a problem with HomeLink wiring in the sunvisor blowing "fuse 5" on older models, but I'm unsure if something like this is even valid for the B6.
View 9 RepliesThe door latch is broken so i need to change it, but i am going on a day trip to Quebec. Now, when i drive with the lights on there is a buzz, the same buzz when your door is open when you drive. I looked at the fuse diagram on that little card but I could not Id which fuse to pull to stop that wretched noise.
View 3 RepliesThe fuse marked #14 which controls the starter and the windows keeps burning. This first happened about 3 months ago and I took it in to a shop which charged me to check all the wires just to tell me that all the wiring was insulated properly and to let me know incase the fuse blows again to keep a spare at all times. Today it happened again and when I replaced the fuse it blew even before I could properly install it and blew 4 fuses in total.
View 7 RepliesMy driver side horn is not working but the passenger side is. Before I bring it to the dealer, is there a fuse for the horn?
View 4 RepliesI was thinking fuse but left, right and "ok" work perfectly. leaves my MFD stuck ...
View 8 RepliesI am having strange problem with my alarm horn. Some days ago alarm went off midnight and I had to leave the trunk open to stop it. Later in morning I found that when I lock the car with remote it doesn't sound but on pressing panic button it sounds well. I have checked water leaks, damp carpet, re-programmed remote, re-connected battery, got new FOB batteries and all door and trunk latches; all are fine. I ran OBD II and VAG COM but no codes found. On locking it locks all doors and hazard light blinks but horn do not sound.
View 6 RepliesI had the steering rack replaced on my 1999 B5 over the past 2 days. Upon leaving the shop...I noticed the air-bag light is on. I also noticed the auto-up on the front windows were not working and the horn doesn't work. What they unplugged/unhooked and how to re-connect it?
View 3 RepliesI have a 2005 f350 lariat 6.0. My horn, cruise volume, heat and fan controls on the wheel are not working. The airbag light isn't on. I am thinking that it's the clock spring. The stereo controls were intermittent for a while so I think it's the clock spring. I just want to be sure. Anything I could check?
View 2 RepliesI don't use my horn unless absolutely necessary. Well, today it was. Guess what? The Sounds of Silence. No horn, no how.
Turned out, the No. 16 fuse was, in fact, blown. What caused that, I don't have a clue. Replaced it and it is working again. Hopefully, not a harbinger of electrical gremlins to come.
The horn doesn't work, but when I lock the car I get the "honk" from the factory alarm...
Long story short...car got broken into, radio stolen, n00b-dumbass radio installer from the insurance company was fuddeling around with the fuse box to power the radio via a 12v source (again...long story). His hands were also behind the kick panel below the steering wheel to run some wires. I only noticed the horn not working a few days after this guy worked on my car. Coincidence?
Is there a fuse / relay that goes bad with our horns?
What is the location of this? It's fuse 37. But it's neither under the steering wheel, or drivers side engine compartment....
View 5 RepliesI have a 14.5 and my fiance drove it today and informed me that she couldn't adjust the mirrors... Thought she might be crazy, but when I went out there, sure enough, they wouldn't move. Seems like there's no power. Neither the left or right move... It was too late (and dark) to check the fuses, but there shouldn't be fuses blowing already on this car. Door locks, BSM, windows all work. Which fuse controls this or is there anything else I should check before I bring it in to Toyota?
View 12 RepliesI have no volume or voice command button. Also the amp1 fuse keeps blowing right away. Would a blown amp keep the voice command button from working?
View 5 RepliesI realized my newly bought Priuss' horn wasn't working when I tried using it earlier in the week.
Me and my dad and I opened up the hood, we realized that the fuse box was missing the horn fuse.
Dad being a a self taught mechanic, we inserted the fuse and almost instantly, the horn started going off. It was just a constant loud beep.
He then removed the fuse and the horn stopped.
Which fuse controls the parking and license tag lights in 2002 Ford Explorer??? I can't find it in the wording of the owner's manual diagram.
