View 3 RepliesI have a 2002 B5.5 Passat sedan. 140K.
Inside my passat, when I run my heater on #1 speed setting there is a high pitched squeak but it goes away on the #2 speed setting. It hasn't been a constant annoyance but enough to want me to fix it now. [URL]....................
So tonight I went to turn my fan on for my heat when I started my car and noticed it is will only work when it is on the highest speed (4 I think). What the issue could be?
View 10 RepliesI drive a 2012 E, and this is not about mine. It's a buddy whom has a 2013 or 2014 (I think all of the fan hardware is identical). His fan stopped working on the three lowest settings, but still blows fine on the highest setting.
Perhaps resistors knock the current down for the lower settings and they have failed? Just a wild guess....
My AC is not working on any setting but defrost. Warm air blows out on the reg AC settings, but if I turn it to defrost, chilly air comes out.
View 2 RepliesMy HVAC blower switch only works when I put it on 5 (the highest setting). What needs to be replaced (besides the whole truck)?
View 4 RepliesMy 2001 f350 a/c blower works better on a/c compared to max a/c . When I turn the selector to max a/c it makes more of a blowing noise but less air blows out of the vents though. When I select plain a/c it makes less noise but blows more air out of the vents. What is wrong and how to go about fixing it is 93 here today and won't get much cooler over the summer months .
View 5 RepliesMy wife's '02 Explorer has developed an issue with the heat/AC. As far as I can tell, the heat is hot when it's supposed to be hot, and the AC is cold when it's supposed to be cold. But, the problem is that everything only blows out through the defrost vents, no matter what setting it is on.
I know there are other threads on this type of subject, and I have read a lot of them. I thought I had identified that actuator gizmo as the culprit, but the more I read, it didn't seem like the symptoms for that issue are exactly like mine. I want to try and fix it myself, and I'd love to take the time to read everything on the subject, but warmer weather is here and my wife wants it fixed yesterday!
This problem reminds me of the time the vacuum pump went out on my F-350 and the defrost vents were all that would work. I wish this problem would be as easy to fix as that was.
My wife's 08 mountaineers heater has stopped working on every setting but high it has the dual climate control with rear heat and ac I've heard there's a control module behind the glove box. Is this true and how hard is it to replace?
View 2 RepliesI have a 2003 Jeep Grand Cherokee with about 240000 miles on the clock. Words cannot describe how impressed I am by this car. However, yesterday I noticed that the selector switch where one chooses to direct the air output has failed me. It seems to be stuck in the windshield defrost setting, unable to redirect the airflow to anywhere else. I am however still able to control the temperature as well as A/C settings. The switch felt strangely 'limp' almost as though it is no longer connected to whatever engineering or witchcraft it is attached to behind the control panel. What are your thoughts on this? Could it be as simple as some mechanical linkage that has snapped off? Just to recap: blower motor, heat and A/C are not affected by this.
View 2 RepliesThe indicator lights stopped working on the switches and the dealer replaced a fuse and they worked again. Now they are out again and it seems like the heater on the drivers side is on the low setting for random intervals.
View 3 RepliesHeater works only on the passenger side, door, floor, defrost, dash. driver side blows out cold air from door, floor, defrost, dash. what would cause half the car to blow hot air and the other half to blow cold air?
View 2 RepliesI've noticed this winter that my Mazda 3's heater is barely working using fresh air. It definitely gives out warmer air than the outside temperature, but not by a whole lot. If I turn on air recirculation, then the air becomes appropriately warm. What would cause the heater to work one way and not the other?
View 3 RepliesWe have a 2010 Prius, and I can't remember if AUTO just works on AC. or is suppose to work for controlling heat also. (Doesn't seem to) Nothing in book, and search turns up nothing.
View 19 RepliesI have noticed on my 2011 Elantra, that the heated seat no longer remains on. I turn it on, level 1 or level 2, and a second later it turns off.
This only happens for the driver seat, passenger seat works fine. Why this might be?
I have a 2006 Sonata. The heater hasn't been working since about April. It's going to start getting cold where I live so I want to get the heater working again. My A/C works perfectly! It is only the heat that is out. What are the problems it could be having? Is this a common problem for an 06 Sonata?
View 2 RepliesMy heater/AC fan only works on high. how do i get the low and medium settings to work?
View 3 Replies2000 Chevy Monte Carlo... The heater/blower only works sometimes, usually not at all when it's freezing out. when it's a little warmer out, it tends to work more often, but still not all the time. what could this be? my husband tried replacing the blower motor, but that didn't change the situation, so he put the old one back in, and is now puzzled ?
View 3 RepliesI'm having an issue with my heater/fan. When I started her up this morning, I noticed my heater (and fan for that matter) only work on the highest setting (4). It still blows hot, and runs at normal temp, but none of the vents are functional unless its blasting!
View 13 RepliesGot an 01 f150 excab with the 5.4 as of lately sometimes when i turn the 1-4 blower control know it wont do anything on heat or ac than other times it will work like it supposes to?
View 2 RepliesIt seems the drivers seat heater only works when turned all the way up. Could the switch be bad, or is there some kind of variable resistor that goes bad? Dunno where to start really.
