Is there anyway to disable this in vag-com? I am getting annoyed, i have to move the car a few metres every night, and i cant move it without putting my seatbelt on, which is a good idea, but its silly. Can turn it off?
View 5 RepliesIn my 2001 Passat, the handle / compartment above the handbrake has a problem - it can be rotated (as to reveal the compartment), but when I want to put it back to horizontal position, I can't, it always leaves a distance of 4-5 cm. I took out the black compartment to see what's inside, and I found out that it gets stuck because when I push the handle down, it doesn't rotate the shaft that holds the teeth (which are in charge of the several "steps" in the handle position) down so that the handle will be able to be put to a full horizontal position. Also, I found a orange-yellow-semi transparent plastic thingy near the teeth of the compartment part, and it was loose, it appears to be broken. Looking for a detailed (exploded) view of the part assembly (like in a Haynes manual)?
View 2 RepliesI just bought a 2nd hand late 2008 B6 Passat 1.9 TDI last week. All was going well until a couple of things started happening. I have a full 1 year warranty with the garage who I bought it off and they are linked to VW as well which works but what I need to know is can i get the recall work done on this and what is what withe faults below:
1st - Handbrake fault warning on the dash (only comes on in really bad wet weather?)
2nd - Owl Hoot when changing gear
3rd - car shake when idle
How do I turn off the seatbelt light? What fuse do I have to pull 2 disable the DRL?

View 5 RepliesIs there a way to turn off the overzealous seatbelt alarm? It chimes constantly when the seatbelt isn't on, even when the car is in park. Sometimes I unbuckle my seatbelt to get my crap together before I get out of the car, but its hot here so I like to leave the AC running while get set. I know some cars have some obscure series of button presses to turn this off. Also is there a way to stop the horn from honking when I press the lock button on the remote?

is there a way to get into the trunk from the rear seat and trip a manual trunk release?
How to remove hood release and plastic trim from driver side covering wires going along driver door, left rear door and to the trunk? I am trying to install subwoofer and amplifier in the trunk need to fish wire through the car from battery to a trunk, and got staked with hood release (opener), i can't remove it and piece of plastic where you put your feet holding together. I don't want to brake anything.
View 2 RepliesMy problem is that I get a pretty good pop from the main release inside the car. The hood doesn't come up too much, and the secondary release tab does not pop out from under the hood. I've managed to get the grille off. The tab will move back and forth a little, but then stops. Even yanking on it will not cause it to release the hood the rest of the way.
A couple of the fixes out there are spraying some lube in there (done) and popping the latch with a screwdriver (can't see how to do this on my car). There is even one for drilling a hole to get access, but I think this might be a B5 thing?
OK, on my 2008 B6 wagon when the park brake is on, you can release it by tapping on the gas pedal (door closed, belt fastened and engine running). On my 2007 B6 wagon you have to additionally have the Auto Hold on. I dislike Auto Hold and get tired of poking the button all the time. Is there a way to upgrade the 2007, so you don't have to use the Auto Hold? Maybe change the EPB module or change it with VCDS?

View 1 RepliesI have a 2000 v6 glx passat. CCM recently got fried, brought to dealer and got replaced, they fixed all the leaks. I go to open with trunk with the remote and it doesn't work, so i go to the cabin and use the switch located at the bottom of the drivers door and that doesn't work either. I hear a clicking in the fuse box so i looked around and fuse 38 clicks when ever i hit the trunk release button, fuse is fine, replaced with another one too, trunk opens with key manually. when fuse 38 is removed, trunk still doesn't open remotely or with button but the clicking stops.
View 3 Replies I have an 05 Passat and I'm trying to remove the bumper cover so I can get to the crank bolt. I have all the bolts out but cannot get the three clips removed from where the grill attaches to the bumper. I can see them with a flashlight but can't get them released with a screwdrive.
It's not covered in my manual. How do I get them released?
The hood release strap broke on my 2003 VW Passat. It fully came out from under the hood while the hood was closed. I had the car at a shop the day before, picked-up the car at night and found the part dangling above the grill the next morning (the work included work under the hood so they were the last ones to open the hood). Of course the shop knows nothing about it and said they've never heard of this happening before. The part broke at the end under the hood that connects to the release point and cannot be repaired (two eyelets broke on this plastic part). I found the part can be bought on-line for about $11 plus shipping. Obviously the first step is I have to somehow get a tool under the hood to release the hood where the strap made the release in the past. The question is how do I do that?
View 4 RepliesThe remote trunk release as well as the trunk release lever inside my 2001.5 GLS V6 do not pop the trunk anymore so I suspect the motor is gone. I took the trunk cover off and got to the motor. I can't tell from looking at the motor if it is bad or not but I suspect it is. How I can test this to see if it is bad?

I just adjusted my handbrake cables and I noticed no matter how strong I apply the handbrake and it holds the car however on both driver's and passenger side the outside pad does not touch the rotor. I'm guessing that the inside pad moves and holds enough, however, i would like the brakes to operate properly. when is the handbrake applied should both pads apply pressure to the rotor?
