View 2 RepliesThe rear driver side door on my Passat doesn't work right, it doesn't lock or unlock from the button on the front two doors....and the window only rolls down when that door is open and the car is running, how to fix?
View 2 RepliesHave problem with driver door not unlocking. All other doors unlock and driver door can be opened from inside handle. Tried search but no hit.
View 7 RepliesI have a 2002 passat. Recently, the door locks have been doing strange things. The key fob will unlock the drivers door only. Yesterday, when I hit the unlock button, the door lock button went up but the door remained locked. Even using the key itself, the door would not open. I had to climb in through the read hatch (it was a wagon or I'd still be locked out). Where the problem lies? The dealer suspects some component in the drivers door is malfunctioning. How to trouble shoot this without taking the door apart? If not, how do I take the door apart?
View 5 RepliesHit the button and you can hear it unlock, pull the handle and nothing. All other doors open fine, just the main I like to use for time to time......you know to get in.
View 6 RepliesI have a 2002 VW Passat. This weekend the keyless entry was working fine. Then on Monday, I go to unlock the doors, and the key less entry will only unlock the Driver's door. It will not unlock any of the other doors. I've tried searching but couldn't find any previous posts about this. What could be causing the problem?
View 1 RepliesMy front passenger door will not unlock when i activate the locks from the driver's side door- all other locks (driver's door, back seat, trunk) do unlock when activated (from both inside and out). When I try to use the locking feature on the passenger door it does not respond, nor does it respond the the key fob. The only way I can unlock my passenger door is manually. Is this something I can fix at home?
View 8 RepliesSo last night I tried to lock my car door i put the key in and tried to turn it to lock it and it wouldn't move as if it were stuck or something so i had to lock it from the passenger side and this morning i went to go check it out and sprayed a little bit of WD-40 on the key and inside the part the key goes in since it wouldn't move and was stuck i thought that might have worked but instead all it did was make it worse now it just spins in circles freely without locking or unlocking my doors i have to do it from the passenger side ...
View 6 RepliesI came out to get into my car today and pressed the keyfob to unlock and nothing. Went inside, same deal with my backup and valet key. I tried to scan with vag com with the alarm going off and I could link up, but not to the immobilizer or lock system. I did get both key 1 and key 2 adaptation surpassed codes. Even when I manually unlock the drivers door the alarm does not go off and I cannot roll up my windows with the key or unlock any other doors with the key. Things have been strange lately too, every time I lock the car and set the alarm the doors themselves locks don't sink down but the alarm is activated allowing anyone to get into the car but alarm goes off.
View 1 RepliesI just got my 00 passat in october and for some reason my alarm system goes off after I unlock my driver side door and try to start it. what should I do?
View 3 Replies2008 Turbo... Is there a way to program all the doors to unlock when the drivers door is opened from the inside?
View 3 RepliesMy newly purchased 1999 b5 passat wont lock/unlock with the key. The key does nothing and i dont have the flip key, i want to get a new flip key from the dealer but i am unsure if they can code it to my car if the lock dosent work i took the door panel off but didnt want to take off the inner metal skin to figure it out.
View 9 RepliesI recently bought a used 2013 passat and one day noticed that my front passenger door wouldn't unlock with the remote. All other doors unlocked, but not that one. I opened it from the inside and it unlocked, but then it wouldn't lock with the remote or the lock button. I tried the usual troubleshooting techniques (repeating the steps over and over, giving puzzled glances, long stares) but those didn't work. I did notice that on the edge of the door, next to the lock mechanism, was a small rectangular hole the same size/shape as my key. I was pretty awesome at the shapes game growing up, so I immediately jumped at putting the object in the hole of matching shape. Sure enough, the key went in. I was able to turn it and when I did, the door started locking and unlocking normally.
I went through the manual (contrary to the stereotypes about men) but couldn't find this particular "feature" or why my car would have it or need it.
So yesterday I come out of a store and hit the button on my remote and pull my handle and nothing.. I hit the button a few more times i and i hear it clicking but its not unlocking..
So I climb in and unlock it from the inside and start locking and unlocking it and finally it starts working again.. I get home car sits for a few hours and i head out to walmart door opens fine when I leave walmart it is fine.. this mourning taking my son to the sitters it was fine and leaving there to go to work it was fine..
At lunch at work it wouldn't open again no matter what i tried i couldn't get it to work.. i call the dealer and have an appointment in the AM for them to check it out..
On a side not one of my drivers side front speaker in the same door is cutting in and out and hisses every now and then..
Yesterday I noticed my door won't unlock and I had to use passenger's side to get in and push my door to open.
I noticed the lock/unlock switch on the door stays locked, won't unlock at all.
My car is 2004 Prius.
Lately I've found it very annoying not to be able to unlock the passenger door behind the driver. I have the Prius v 5 and all the doors open except for that one. I find this kind of strange because many times I'll have a bag that I want to place in the back seat. So I'm wondering, is it possible to unlock this door using just the drivers door handle? I have already gone through some settings on my screen under vehicle, but can't find a way to change it.
View 5 Replies2000 Jetta 2.0L bought used with broken key fob and separate valet key.
Problem: I have always had problems with the electrical system since a little after I bought the car. For example, after unlocking the driver's side door with either key, and starting the car, my hazards would flash and alarm would sound (car thinks I'm trying to steal it). I fixed that by disabling the alarm.
Just recently however, I locked my car as usual (pressed the button on drivers side door locking all doors except for drivers side and then manually locking the drivers side door). When going back to my car the next morning, I put the key in drivers side door and turned--- NOTHING. The key (both fob and valet) turns both ways but the drivers side door will not unlock and I am stuck getting locked out frequently.
Remote unlocks the other three doors but I need to jump in an open drivers door from inside.
Does not happen every time but has happened several times. I look like an idiot climbing in from the back seat.
Approach car and grab the handle, car beeps like 5 times trying to unlock the drivers side door. All other doors unlock.
If I go to passengers side and press the unlock button a couple times it opens. Seems slow to open. Greased lock assembly at door. Not sure if it works.
All other doors lock and unlock except drivers door. The drivers door can only be locked unlocked manually with your hand.
View 12 RepliesI have a problem with my '08 driver's door lock. Essentially, the doors will all lock just fine using FOB, door buttons, etc, and all doors except driver's door will unlock using smart key features, fob, etc. However, if I want to unlock the driver's door I have to insert and turn the key. It feels a little stiff but it might not be any different than before as I rarely used this feature before. There was a period of about a week where it would fail intermittently before it began to fail consistently.
It just got warm out here in MD, not sure if that might have made a difference. I popped the rubber door plug out to lubricate it the lock mechanism with some silicone spray and also sprayed some in the lock itself, but it did not make a difference.
I am trying to avoid an expensive repair, but I am not really up for a complex replacement of the actuator motor - and it seems like the motor must be working anyway if I can lock the doors. I have not done anything in the latch area, just near where the key goes.
