View 4 RepliesI recently upgraded from my '14 IS 250 to a '15 GS 350. So far I am loving the car except for one thing. When driving above 50mph, there is a very loud whistling/squeaking noise coming from the driver side mirror area that is driving me crazy when the window is open. If i close the mirrors, it goes away.
I plan to have the dealer look when i go for the 5k service.
I am just curious about my passat side mirrors ... the passenger mirror is smaller then the driver side?
View 12 RepliesI just bought a 99 passat v6 and noticed that the passenger side mirror is smaller then the drivers side is that how it is normally or is my passat messed up?
View 12 RepliesI hear a whistling noise that seems to be emanating from my right side mirror when I start driving at highway speeds (I guess, since I'm not near enough to pinpoint it).
View 13 RepliesI have a 2007 2.0T, and the signal light on the driver's side mirror flashes instead of blinking. I have looked around and not been able to find any loose wires or ones that look damaged. I also noticed yesterday that the left rear signal has led's missing, and it looks like it shorted out. I am thinking the 2 are more than likely related.
View 2 RepliesI'm the original owner of a 2000 passat v6 4motion wagon. For the past couple of years its been my wife's daily driver. Today I got in to drive her to work and at freeway speeds the driver side mirror wobbles to the point that its useless...she said its been that way for a while. Haven't looked into it at all as far as opening it up.
View 7 RepliesDo any Passat owners have a situation where their outside driver side mirror rattles? I have a 2000 Passat and have this problem.
View 2 RepliesI've searched but it seemed to lack a definitive fix. One mentioned felt glued into a crevice behind the mirror, but was not very explanatory since the pictures which were needed to understand where things went have since gone dead.
View 5 RepliesHaving issue with an occasional whistling noise. Mine seems to happen once I get to 80km/hr(50mph) or above. Seems to be coming from the drivers side area around the side mirror or windshield frame. Being winter the windows and sunroof have been closed and it doesn't seem to be consistent so it's hard to figure out what could be causing it.
View 16 RepliesI have noticed that at highway speeds, 55 + MPH, there is a whistling sound coming from outside the car, I can hear it more on the driver's side of the car. I checked all the rubber parts on the two doors and everything seemed to be in place. Is this normal? I probably only noticed it because I had the volume on the radio really low, but the whistling sound sounds like it's right in my ear. I got my roof wrapped so I thought maybe part of the vinyl came up and was causing that but the wrap is sound in place.
View 9 RepliesHaving the problem of when the A/C is on about 1/2 way (3-4 bars), you can hear a kind of turbulent whistling noise behind the drivers seat? I think its coming from the drivers side passenger vent that's in the B pillar.
At first I thought it was a fan motor that was going bad, but was informed by the dealer that there is no fan there. They thought it might be a duct not making good connection with another duct and air escaping.
My dealer is clueless (of course) and said that they could not find a TSB on this problem.
I have a 2005 Touareg TDI european model, with an anoying whistling sound somewhere in the drivers door or the b-pillar. The sound is not constant, but change according to the settings to the fan. I have been to the VW dealer, but they have not found any solution to my the problem yet.
View 3 RepliesSo I noticed a while back when I bought this car that my driver's side side-view mirror was a little loose. I didn't think anything of it back then b/c it still worked fine. Then just a couple of weeks ago the driver's side side-view mirror fell & hung by the wires connected to it. I can put it back to how's is supposed to be but it's really loose now. So I looked at the plastic pieces that hold this thing in place and I saw this:
If I put it back where it's supposed to be it stays up there but is very loose!
I get this intermittent whistling noise coming from the rear drivers side. Sounds like a coffee pot whistling on a stove. After I drive about ten or twelve miles it goes away and diminishes into a hissing noise. Is it possible the fuel pump is failing? I have a 2005 trailblazer with 105000 miles.
View 9 RepliesI was driving down the street when another car side swiped mine. There wasn't any noticeable damage, but the side mirror on my driver side popped out.
It doesn't look like anything is actually broken. The mirror just popped out. Can I pop it back in or will I need to get it looked at?
The reason I ask is I didn't notice any other parts of the mirror on the street, but can't seem to get it to pop back in.
I've just finished installing Driver Side Puddle Lights just under the mirror. I still haven't coded it yet.
[URL]..................... I ran into a problem:
As I want to use the electrical mirrors to adjust my driver side mirror, passenger side mirror moves too. Is it possible that these faults caused by not coded ECU?
I connected ground wire of my LED to blue and black cable connected to the mirror and ran another wire from unit 10 in 16 pin door connector to live wire from my LED.
The other day I was sitting in my car and noticed my mirror on my driver side looked off, it was out of line, I went to go touch it and poof the mirror falls into my hand so i do have the mirror (not broken), how do I install the mirror back ?? I'm guessing it uses a glue but then how would that work with the heated mirror component? tried looking for a DIY and can't find anything.
View 6 RepliesI am not sure where or how or even what parts to buy? It looks like the mirror itself and the wiring is ok and that only the frame or structure that held it on is broken? Is there someone out there that can refer me to a parts diagram or simple instructions that I can follow to fix it?
View 4 RepliesI've noticed a slight distortion on my driver's side mirror. If I move my head left to right and back, I can see some 'wobble' across the face. I wonder if the cold has anything to do with it?
View 9 RepliesWell I took the GX into a rough part of town in and literally left the car parked for 30 minutes, and I come back to find the drivers side mirror missing. Good news is, the thieves unplugged it, dare I say professionally and I have no ripped or spliced wires, everything is in tact. I found a mint condition mirror on ebay and bought it for a fraction of the cost the stealership would charge, however as simple as it looks, it is a bit difficult to snap the mirror onto the white plastic piece. I do not want to apply too much pressure and crack the mirror from the front. Any hacks on an easier way to put it in?
