So today i noticed my driver side control for the windows wouldn't make my passenger window go up. It will make it go down and thats it. I was able to open and close it with the passenger control but what could be the potential problem/fix could be I'm not under warranty so figure it will be cheaper to fix on my own. Would the door panel have to be replaced with new controls or do i have any other options?

I had this working once before and for the life of me, I can't seem to get it working again. I went through the convenience menu in the mfd several times and I can't seem to find it in the manual.
Can getting an ecu update or tune remove this feature?
I just got done repairing the 6x9 speaker in the passenger side door and all went well, except the passenger window switch now blinks and will not roll down/up from the driver side controls! I've removed the panel and double checked all connections and no dice. The window rolls up and down fine using the passenger side control, but not the driver's side. The blinking pattern on the control is two blinks...pause...two blinks...pause...
View 4 RepliesI managed to scrape the passenger door (mostly just the paint) on my 2014 Prius. I got it back from the shop yesterday and just noticed that I can no longer roll down the right rear window using the controls from the driver's seat. I can still lower the left rear window from the driver's seat, but the only way to open the one on the right is to use the switch on that door.

View 1 RepliesI have a 2005 Bonneville. Just recently the doors will lock and unlock on their own. The controls(windows/mirror) and lock on the drivers side works intermittently. The window and locks on the passenger side work correctly. At least I haven't found a time they don't work. Coincidentally, things started acting up after the drivers side widow was left open and a little rain came in. I have removed the mirror/window control panel from the drivers side, unplugged the connector, cleaned and put electrical grease on the contacts.. I did the same thing with another connector I could reach inside the door panel.
View 3 RepliesA couple of months back my driver side window began to make this terrible squeaking noise when rolled up and down. I noticed that the noise is not as bad when it is cooler out and when I run my car through the wash with wax (just an option they have at the carwash place).After some internet research I believe that the problem is with a part of window regulator mechanism.
There were a couple of options available to me:1. Replace window regulator mechanism (great instructions on pelicanparts.com). To do it on my own is about $80 (part cost) and 5-6 hours of work or $600 at the dealer's. 2. Locate the motor of window regulator, open it and clean it. Probably 5-6 hours of work, but $0!!!3. Open the door, clean inside and grease the tracks.
I opened the door and cleaned the glass and tracks – no result! I brought it back to the dealer (car is not under warranty anymore) and they were nice enough to open it again for me and grease the tracks – no result except for marks on my window and the verdict that I need to replace the regulator mechanism….
I have an 03 Passat and the controls on the drivers door work only on that door, it is seemingly not connected to the other doors. For instance, only the drivers window will operate with the switch, but the others will operate with their individual switches. The door lock will only lock the drivers door as well, but if you use the passenger lock/unlock it works the other 3 doors only as well. The mirror control does not work either.
I checked all the fuses and everything seems fine.
Radio controls stop working can only make changes from steering wheel. Is there a way to reset the radio so the buttons will work?

Also i get a lot wind noise coming through once on the motorway is this because the seals are worn out?
View 3 RepliesYesterday, the driver side window in my Passat (1.8T, year 1999) kind of "dropped", and wouldn't close now. When I try to close using the switch, I can hear as if a motor is rotating for a few seconds, but nothing happens. What might be the cause? Can it be fixed relatively easily without making a trip to the dealer?

Also when i close the driver door its saying its not closed. Is there a fuse hiding somewhere under the hood? or what should i do. Its under warranty but its Sunday and rain is coming.

In addition, they are going to investigate my touchscreen, as I've been having some red/white flickering issues when it is?
Okay first i will start with the driver side window... it doesnt want to go up or down but it creates a clicking noise, and then the blower doesnt blow anymore.

I can hear the motor so that's not the problem, I believe the window got taken out of its 'tracks' and is loose in the door. I can hear it moving around in there when I am driving and opening and closing the door. I am trying to be very fragile with it, how to take the door off so I can see the interior of that door.

View 5 RepliesAlright i got a 1999 Passat 1.8t, that I just did a new head gasket, turbo swap on and FMIC, the problem is that the heat only comes in at high revs and at speeds of 35+ and it's getting really annoying now with it being winter and I leave my car for 10 minutes in the cold and come back to see the whole interior side of the glass is frozen..
Also, my driver's side window will not go down, theirs a clicking noise you can hear when I press down on the switch?
It looks like I am going to have to replace my front driver's side power window regulator soon - it is making a bad sound when I power the window down and also the window glass seems to be loose and clunking when I close the door with the window partially or all the way down. These may be two separate issues. I think the motor itself is fine.
In looking at replacement window regulators I see two options. The lower cost option ($50-70) is to just by the regulator cable/pulley/gear assembly.

But I also see options to buy that assembly pre-installed on the metal door plate that it attaches to: [URL]
So, my question is, once I have the door apart and the glass out, is it relatively easy to install a new cable/pulley/gear regulator assembly, or would I be better off buying a pre-installed regulator on a new metal plate?
I know how to take the door apart as I have done this before to change out the door lock/latch module.
I'm at a complete loss, My drivers side back door has stopped working, Alarm, window and lock, I've checked my fuses, and it seems i only have 3 doors in the fuse box, what are the numbers to the door fuses in the box.
