Passat (B6) :: CEL Blinking And Car Started Shuddering After Tank Filled Up

So I filled up my tank tonight and started off home when the car started shuddering, not bad but shuddering and the CEL came on and blinked so I pulled over and shut the car off, waited a minute or two then turned it on, everything was fine and after a little longer the CEL turned off but turned back on again after 30 or so miles. The car is still running fine.

Do you think its the evap emissions valve? My wife said it shuddered a little when she filled up last week as well. Or it might be the coils? I have a warranty so its going in tomorrow anyway but I am going to drive it to work and drop it off.

The car is great. Filled up with first tank of diesel last Sunday. About 100 miles into a long ride east, the CEL came on without explanation. I double-checked the gas cap, and it had been replaced properly.

Traded in my 2006 mustang gt for a 2006 2.0T passat last week. As I was driving the car to work today the check engine light started blinking and the car started to vibrate as if it were about to shut off. The light eventually stayed on, I took it the the dealer and there not sure what the problem is, they say they've never seen this before.

Camry :: 2011 V6 - Gas Smell After Tank Filled Up

I thought nothing of this before and just chalked it up to being at a gas station and the cold weather. But this is my 3rd fillup with this car and every single time i've smelled gas.

i just filled up my tank tonight and there was a gas smell, which went away after a couple of miles driving. Should i be worried? I mean smelling gas is never a good thing. Car is 2011 camry v6, 36k miles on it.

some have said its overfilling of gas, but i let off once it clicks and do not keep filling. Bought it used so not sure if previous owner liked to "top" it off.

is there anything i can check, i.e. fuel lines under car seats?

I've got a 2001 Prius with a minor but annoying problem. It pops a P0440 code from time to time, always shortly after the gas tank is filled. Driveability/fuel economy are unaffected, and no other codes are ever triggered.

I checked for a cracked hose nipple on the "tank retainer", as posted by forum member kmc6566, but the unit on my car looked ok.

I have a 2010 ford f150. Every time I fill it up with gas it wont start upon the first try just turns over. Second time it sputters and then stalls.Third time it starts then runs and stalls.Fourth time it will start fine until I fill the truck up with gas again. My wife's 2010 Chevy Traverse has 85,000 miles, and has run great over the years. The past 4 or 5 times we filled up the tank, the vehicle won't start right afterward. It turns over, but seems like it's either flooded or starved of fuel. Then, after a few tries it gets going and starts up fine until the next fill-up. The "Check Engine" light has not come on during this. At least one time it was way down on gas, and at least one of the times it had almost a quarter tank - same result. I called 2 of my repair buddies and they don't have the answer.

Toyota - Rav4 :: 1998 - Check Engine Light Came On When Gas Tank Filled

I have a 1998 Toyota Rav 4 with apporximately 140,000 miles. When I fill the gas tank the check engine light comes on, the engine runs rough (like a misfire). Diagnostic code comes back a "lean mixture,bank 1". When the tank reaches approximately 3/4 of a tank the light goes out and the engine runs smooth and fine. Then, when the tank reaches just belwo hal a tank the light once again comes on and starts running rough again. Have drained the tank, used dry gas, Startron to counter the ethonal etc. Nothing seems to work.

Passat (B5) :: Oil Light Started Blinking - Massive Leak Under The Hood

Haven't posted in a long while because...on the coldest day of winter this year (it was around 5 degrees) I took off for work early one morning and before I made it to the highway, my oil light started blinking...I kind of ignored it for a moment because I have a small leak that requires I add about a quart a week (ok maybe this was a good leak already) in any event I had just topped off the oil that morning so I knew I should be alright and since it was so cold I reasoned that it was just an electrical fluke that was gonna clear up once we got warmed up.

Shortly after that I noticed I wasn't really accelerating as quickly as would be normal...so I kinda thought about the blinking light for a second and ended up shutting her down. When I hopped out to look under the hood there was oil everywhere...as well as a trail leading all the way back to my spot in the driveway. I ended up towing her home and she has been sitting since.

Today was the first nice day and I couldn't wait to see what was up so I filled her up with oil again and waited for the leak...nothing. So I put her on the charger and figured it would have to be fairly obvious where the leak was coming from if I fired her up for a second.

I have to say she sounded awful...valves clambering away...but the oil leak revealed itself and I shut her down immediately. I am really hoping that I didn't do that much internal damage and that all the valve noise is primarily from it not being started for so long...but I guess I will have to wait and see on that.

The leak is coming from just to the right of and slightly above the oil filter casing. Its definitely not the casing itself or anything to do with the oil filter...it appears to be just above this thing, what it is but it has a large bolt holding it on (large like the 36mm on the oil filter itself).

Elantra MD (2010-15) :: Miles To Empty Range Has Been Dropping Every Time Tank Filled Up

So when I first got my car, the dealer had put in a full tank of gas and the miles to empty range was at 347~. After several fill ups since my purchase, the miles to empty has been dropping every time I filled up. A few fill ups ago, I remember it was 327. The latest fill up was about 318. What gives? Do the current MPG avg affect this number? What is the factor for the variance?

When I stop the car, sloshing noise come from back of 2006 Toyota Camry after filling full tank of gas. Tried couple times, I can still hear the noise feels like liquid sloshing noise coming from fuel tank. Even after I parked the car, tried to push the back side of my 2006 Toyota Camry, sounds like the fuel is sloshing from the tank. Is it normal? I never heard about this before, maybe I didn't notice. I drive a 1989 Toyota Camry LE with a V6 Engine. When I fill my gas tank, start the car, the fuel gauge pointer doesn't go completely into the "F" mark, see picture; I'll even wait after driving a few miles if the pointer will try to go past the "F" mark, but it won't. Could it be the gauge be faulty or the sending unit in the gas tank that's causing the gauge to read inaccurately?

I have a 2006 Town and Country with the 3.3L V6. The last four times I filled the gas tank the engine spits and sputters after running for 2 - 3 minutes. Sometimes it will even stall out. Elantra MD (2010-15) :: 2013 - Engine Began To Stumble And Idle Poorly Like About To Stall After Tank Filled Up

I just started to have some idle problems with my 2013 Elantra GLS auto 1.8 that has 10k miles.

I went to the gas station to fill up the tank since the gas was very low (30 mile range). I filled up the tank, started the car and the engine began to stumble and idle poorly like it was about to stall. I put the car in drive and the engine stalled. I restarted the car and it ran normally.

The car will now briefly idle poorly when I'm at a stop light. The car will be at a stop light idling and running normally. Suddenly, the tach will go down to 200 rpm and then up to 1200 rpm, like it is about the stall. Then it will idle steadily and be back to normal. This has happened about three times over the past two weeks.

What may be causing this intermittent idle problem?

My car had just been filled with gas then right after I got on the interstate and while going about 60 mph, holding the accelerator at that speed, the car stated to decelerate on its own then it would go back to 60.
