View 9 RepliesI thought nothing of the ESP light when I was driving home since it just snowed another foot and it was slippery. But, just got home and when I turned the car off I noticed the displays are staying illuminated with the keys out and doors shut. Not the center info display in red the small ones to the sides .. One is the odo/km display. Are these related ? I disconnected the battery since I have to sleep and don't want to wake up to a dead battery.
View 2 RepliesAirbag alert just popped on yesterday. still there today. Something to have the dealer look at? or can it be reset?
View 2 RepliesMy 1999 Passat B5 Wagon with only 46K miles (a great used deal) has the yellow airbag light on in the dash. What usually has to be done to diagnose the problem? In other words, what sort of damage am I talking about at the dealer?
View 1 RepliesI got a 2006 2.0t komfort. I started the car this morning and got an airbag fault show up on the dash and now the air bag light is on. What this is and the possible fix?
View 11 Replieswell installed my new in dash dvd player...everything went smooth...turned the car on....AIRBAG LIGHT IS ON...WHAT DID I DO?!?!?!? WHAT DO I DO?!?!?!?
View 21 RepliesWell, I recently had the "Airbag Fault" error message (along with the wonderful amber airbag light) both appear on my dash, and oddly enough, I haven't hit anything or bumped anything or done anything that could cause this error. I drive a 2001 VW 1.8T and she only has 48,000 miles on her.
View 1 RepliesLast night, my 2008 Prius was hit from the rear. The bumper was damaged as well as a few starches on the hatch. However the latch for the hatch was move forward so the hatch no longer latches. Also during the collision, my daughter's heavy backpack was throw against the back of the passenger seat with enough force to hurt her back.
The airbag warning light remains on along with the dash indicator saying the airbag is off. Does mean all the airbags are disabled? Can this be reset? The car will be professionally repaired but I still need to drive it until I can get it repaired.
About a week after my yearly inspection the "Air Bag" light on the dash popped on and has been on for the last few days. Are these comon failures? and could you give me a good starting point. My car is a 2005 Santa Fe GLS FWD with 125,000 on her.
View 9 Replies2009 ES350. Couple of months ago I have driving down the high way and a ton of light popped up on the dash. (CEL tracking VSC) After another 50 miles it developed a miss. Next morning the miss went away and it but all the lights were still on. Auto zone said misfire so I figured I need to change plugs(65k on the motor) well 100 miles into coming home the mis fire comes back. and we make it home. Next day same thing.....
I change the plugs.... disconnect the computer and it was good for a couple hundred miles and BAM!! it starts all over. CEL on... I noticed if I stay city driving it doesn't get to the miss fire point. but if I do any kind of highway driving it'll eventually develop a miss.
I check it again and it showed 2 and 4 mis fire, I picked up 3 coils put them all on the front. It ran good for 350 miles and bam here it is again. Last Sunday I started up the car and it just started misfiring at idle. well I went to check it at autozone coz it was really bad. and it had 4 cylinders misfiring total.
Well in the mean time getting it checked the light were on it wouldn't start. so I just bought a battery. (it had been having battery issues over the last couple months) I don't want wifey to be stranded somewhere with the baby.
I'm new to these news lexus's.. Ive had 2 Is 300's and my daughter has a gs 300. Do I need to use a specific spark plug for the 350? Would the dying battery contribute to this?
I did find the air box was not closed properly by the oil change company wifey uses. so I thought that was an issue but it cam one at the 350 mile mark. What else to try..
first, it was a crack. then not too much later a pop. a piece of glass fell out of the cracked lens. water in the housing = blown bulb.
I love the info screen that tells me the right fog light is out!

but I HATE that when I went to my dealer to get a lens,
I learn that it's an enclosed fog light and it's $114.XX to replace?

Any leads on where I should be looking for a replacement for less?
I just had my oil changed today and while driving home the red airbag light came on in the instrument cluster and the passenger airbag light on the dash started flashing. When I connected the passenger seatbelt the flashing light went off. While in the dealer also tightened some screws in the center console. I have an under the seat subwoofer that is VERY snug...could that have damaged something when the seat was slid back?
View 10 RepliesMy airbag light won't go away, and everytime i pass 25mph my dash says airbag fault. Is this another sensor that went out?
View 4 RepliesI removed my front seats to steam clean the carpets. After replacement, I get a "Air Bag Fault" warning on the dash. Is that something I can reset?

On the way to lunch today, I stopped at a store and ran in for about 10 minutes. When I get back in my 'egg, I notice that the steering wheel airbag module has "popped" or "sprung" out of place. Instead of being flush, it is now sticking out and creating quite the safety hazard, I'm sure.
View 15 RepliesFor a long time the red airbag dash light has been on. It's a 2004 Toyota Camry V6 XLE. I've tried taking the battery lead off but that would be to easy to work. I'm not sure what caused it, I do all my own work on this car but I don't really mess with the airbags so I'm not sure how to diagnose this. What would cause this light to come on? I'm a kind of concerned that the airbags won't deploy in an accident and also not sure if it will pass the annual NYS inspection that I need ASAP. I really do not want to go to the dealer is there anyway I can troubleshot this myself?
View 9 RepliesHave a 2001 V6. Notice a check engine light popped on and thats the code I got. I do have a custom cat back exhaust. Left both cats on there just took out rear muffler and resonator and then put in glass pack. Wondering if this is something that is cause by the catback exhaust? I have had the exhaust on for some time, few hundred miles. How to replace this?
View 13 RepliesI have a 2007 RX400h. All of a sudden I see the airbag light on the dash and the passenger airbag off light always lit. It does not matter whether I am sitting in the passenger seat or not. I should easily weigh enough to turn on the passenger air bag.
I have a basic OBDII scan tool. It does not show any error codes.
Fix one thing, something else goes wrong. I replaced the resistor or HVAC power module(nissan's term) on my maxima and fixed the problem. Easy job. Put everything back together and now the air bag light blinks constantly when car is running. I did disconnect an electrical connection for easier access to the resistor and plugged back in. I've read, I just need to reset. None of the reset procedures I find on line seem to work.
View 2 RepliesI have a Toyota 2004 Prius and I have been having the airbag warning light on my dash for the past few days. I have 140K miles and do not have manufacturer warranty. What could it be causing it? Faulty seat weight sensor? Calibration issue?
View 15 RepliesAfter spilling coffee down emergency brake lever the airbag light intermittently stays on. OBD showed no codes.
Found a couple of recalls that deal with airbag problems. One messed with the wiring harness under neath both front seats. The old wires hung down to low. The 2nd added a cover to not allow liquid to get on the connector/airbag electronics. The airbag electronics connector is directly below the emergency handbrake lever.
My nephews 2002 had the carpet extended over the connector/airbag electronics and that was suppose to protect the connector from getting wet.
Found sticky coffee on connector/airbag electronics.
Used screw driver to pry up on console tray. Then removed 3 screws on both side of console. Disconnected battery then used contact cleaner on connector and electronic module. Took plastic lid from 42oz round container of oatmeal and used double side tape to secure over connector/electronic module.
Airbag light is off and connector/airbag electronics has better protection from spills.
