How to take out the back seat of the Passat? I'm needing to run a Pioneer IP bus cable to the trunk and it would be easier with the bottom of the rear seat out. I looked in the archives and found a thread saying you just pull up on the bottom. I have pulled up on the bottom of the seat so hard that I'm worried that I will break it. I still can't get it out. Is there something I'm missing?

My follow up question is what the h ell do I do with my old seats? Is there even demand on Craigslist for that stuff? They're power and in good condition.
Removing the back seat to allow the front seats to be reclined more? at 6'4'' I need more leg room! Or any other way on getting more leg room in the front seats?
View 1 RepliesMy uncle has an 05 F150 extended cab. When he bought it he put his license plate in the rear window until he could get some bolts for it. When it was there it fell between the back of the rear seat and the back of the cab. Currently he has one plate on the rear, but is worried he will get stopped for not having a front plate installed. So he knew I am an FTE member and I could find out how to remove the seat back. I have not tried to remove it nor seen if I could reach it.

View 2 RepliesThe headrest of back seat will bend over when fold down the seat. But one of the headrests can't go back to original up position. The dealer has adjusted the cable but this just temporarily fixed the problem. The problem is back again. I will go back to dealer but can they really fix it? Should I ask for a replacement of the whole seat?

I have been trying to remove the back seat but it has 2 locking clicks; one one each side than I can not unlock. The clicks on front were easy to pop but this one on the side does not.

I have a 2007 Ranger XLT 2 Door Extracab and have a question about the seats in this vehicle. I'm a 6' 1" guy and have long legs. I've lamented how little travel the seats (esp the drivers seat) has. Since I have long legs I have the seat as far back as it apparently goes. On long trips, this becomes exceedingly uncomfortable. To top it off, I had a knee injury recently and the range of motion of my knees are less than normal, making it impossible to drive the truck with the limited ability to move the seat further back.. My question is: Is there a way to get the seat to go further back, without extensive engineering work? I've noticed this seems to be a Ford thing as my wife's 2012 Escape has the same problem.
