I was wondering is there a way to have an audio input cable plugged into the glove box cd changer female socket?.I just want to connect anything,by doing this i can connect my mp3,iphone or any other audio device's output.
I do not have the AUX option.
I would like to keep my ipod up in eye line view so that I am not looking down to change songs... I was going to buy the pro clip for the driver view, but realized I would just have a cable hanging in the middle of the car...
View 3 RepliesOn my '06 XL F350 I want to know if and how I can hook up an auxiliary input. It has the AUX button ,but it doesn't have any aux audio port in the dash anywhere like some of the nicer F-series have. When I push the AUX button, the screen reads "NO AUX AUDIO". Is there an adapter I can buy to plug in the back so I can actually have and auxiliary input?
View 3 RepliesI have a 2005 passat 1.8t, whose check engine light had been on for some time. But yesterday when driving home, after visiting a friend, i noticed the check engine light flashing and the car refusing to accelerate, i managed to park after few minutes and switched off the engine. on coming out of the car i noticed smoke coming out of the bonnet. I quickly open the bonnet and made my way into the top of the engine with mechanic only to discover after opening one of the plug compartments that the plug cable/wire is burnt. The Engine could not start even after removing the burnt wire and plug completely.
View 5 RepliesJust got a 2012 c3, and I'm trying to get my iPod Nano (4th gen) to show up on the display as an iPod, controllable from the steering wheel and display. The manual says this iPod model is compatible. The iPod software is up to date.
If I plug my iPod into the AUX with a standard audio cable, it plays over the speakers fine but the display shows only "aux" and has no controls for it. If I plug it into the USB with an Apple cable, it doesn't plays over the speakers at all, and the USB doesn't show up as active on the display -- it's grayed out. I tested the cable elsewhere and confirmed it's fine.
where is the Aux Audio Input? My owners manual is missing the booklet on the sound system, have no clue where this input is.

I get a loud whistle noise sound whenever I try to play through the AUX input. I have a 2013 Prius 2.
How to get rid of the noise?
Have a 2010 Prius V, and use a smart phone with a vent mount above the radio. So far so good, however the dangling power cord I'd like to minimize. Presently, I have a tiny cigarette lighter to usb converter located under the shifter (in that odd open bay), and then the cord travels up the entire dash.
Would like to run the cord behind the dash and, if possible, have the cord pop through the air vent to power the phone. That said, would not want to interrupt air systems by puncturing through the duct and am not familiar w/the schematics to understand what options exist under the dash. Prefer not to drill through the dash, but would consider. Second, but lower priority, would be to hardwire the cable inside the dash.
Best spot I can locate as an exit for the power cable might be the space just outside the air vent, but still inside the vent cavity. have links to the dashboard schematics to get an idea of available space?
Is it possible to stream my music via my android phone via cable to the USB port on the Prius?

View 4 RepliesJust picked up a 2006 Toyota Camry LE (Gen 5.5) and it has the basic single CD (no tape player) radio without any AUX input. This vehicle is going to be my new daily driver (supercharged Mustang isn't going to cut it) and I want AUX as I will be driving across the country.
Are there any new solutions to getting AUX in a gen 5.5? Not looking to replace the whole head unit because I like the stock simple controls.
I was just working on replacing the cabin air filter on my '06 sonata and when I opened up the side panel I noticed that the glove box strut was not attached to anything. This would probably explain why my glovebox will occasionally open all the way to the floor.
How I should reattach it so that it will stop doing this, or have a diagram that shows how it should be connected?
